Honorary Mention:
Some deaths (and near deaths) were still great, but just didn't make the top ten. Here are a few noteworthy ones: Alexis Drezen gets shivved by his afternoon delight; Lynn takes a tumble down the stairs; Miguel loses his leg to Kim; Jack shoots a little boy (just kidding, it was all fake); Chase gets his hand chopped off; Sherry lets Miliken die in his wheelchair; Nina fakes her death by using Jack's flack jacket (we thought she was good then, so we were concerned); Paula dies and nearly takes all of CTU's computer codes with her; Claudia learns that the exposed cab of a pickup truck doesn't protect against bullets; Jack beheads a chump; Tony gets shot in the neck and is back at the job in... three hours.Previous page | 1 | 2 | 3 ( Comments ) | Discuss In Our Forums

i'm just reading this section because no one's updating the Big Brother page; reading this post is giving me goosebumps and makes me wanna go back and re-watch the first two seasons of 24. but i notice you forgot one of the most gruesome deaths -- Jack making Kim kill Gary Matheson point-blank (you can also add the discovery of Gary's wife's body in the trunk. that's some brilliant writing, right there).

Not a bad list, but have to disagree that Sherry Palmer's death is number two. While Sherry was a great character on the show, that death scene was one of the dumbest things to ever happen on 24. In fact, the episode in which it occurred was remarkable--half of it was as good as 24 has ever been (Jack trying to stop the virus from being released) and half was as bad as 24 has ever been (Wayne searching Sherry's house, Julia showing up, killing herself too).
