Team JV to Dr. Phil: This Is How We Do -
by B-side
Click on Jonathan and Victoria to play...
Season 6 of The Amazing Race may be over, but the controversies live on. Abusive couple Jonathan Baker and Victoria Fuller — aka Team JV — resurfaced last night to explain themselves on a Dr. Phil Special titled Romance Rescue. Sadly, the interview was neither a romance nor a rescue (discuss). Instead it was more like a pathetic string of excuses and shallow apologies. Jonathan managed to fault Victoria several times for his behavior on the show, but never admitted to having rage issues or misogynistic impulses. Eventually his excuses became downright bizarre and desperate: "Playboy is a big part of my life" and "It was just to be flamboyant!" (his shirt was doing that just fine. Zing!). In other words, he continues to be a schmuck.
Victoria, for her part, smiled happily, occasionally offering battered wife sentiments such as "I have a tendency not to talk" (otherwise she'll get beaten). We learned that she moved in with Jonathan after their first date, and if that doesn't scream neediness for male domination, I don't know what does. For his part, Dr. Phil did a nice job of putting the couple on the spot, but ultimately let them off the hook by merely implying they were headed for marital disaster. I personally would have liked a little Judge Judy-ish smack down, but hey — you can't have it all.
Now, I was going to recap the interview, but it was so astounding, I knew the only way I could do it justice would be if I simply just made a video. So enjoy this montage of Romance Rescue moments...

Nice video, the music is a great touch!
J- "I don't hate women, I love women. Playboy is a big part of my life." Yes, I value women so much - oh objects of my masturbatory desire.
Did you watch the other part of the show - about the guy who wanted his fiance to sign a sex contract? She'd better put out as agreed upon or else she'd have to get in that kitchen and cook, by God!

god, 3 people I hate more than anything in this world. I was half expecting the curtuins to open and special guest stars Star Jones Reynolds and Osama Bin laden would walk out making it the ultimate "people I hate" party.

Im still in shock that Dr. Phil had a guest that made him look good. For just a moment I almost forgot that he was Oprahs penis.

I don't think that Victoria realizes Jonathan treats her badly. I guess they are perfect for each other. I wonder how their kids will turn out.

I was so hyped for that Dr.Phil show last night & then they were only on for like 10 minutes max. What a rip off. Plus they were boring.
I say they're perfect for each other. He abuses her & she loves it. And who would ever put up with that shreiking she does? They don't need any martial advice cause I think they're just going to keep putting up with each other.
Btw, was he on massive amounts of botox or what?

B-side, you did an amazing job of distilling their interview down to the esence of how dumb it was and how dumb they were. The music and interweaving of Victoria's laughs was masterful!

I thought Victoria's statement how she hates when people call her a "former playmate" was hysterical. She is a nutjob. I did find myself saying "hey! that's a good point" when Jonathan said he didn't attend to her needs during the show because he was use to her over reacting, so he just ignores her now. But then I remebered when he shoved her and I remembered what an ass he was. remeber Colin? He sucked too.

Smithie,
I know exactly what you mean about Victoria. After she says she doesn't understand why they call her a former playmate, Jonathan goes on to say that she is a pop artist. According to her, the fact that all of her pop art features the playboy bunny logo in no way contributes to people associating her with the magazine.

That made me laugh too J-Unit. When you go to her website victoriafuller.com this is the two opening lines:
"Victoria Fuller's Official web site is full of information for every fan. Read her biography and learn how this model who appeared on the cover of Playboy has also made a name for herself in the world of art."
Gee I wonder why people always mention Playboy...hmmm....

When people call her a "former playmate" its just a polite way of saying "You may have once been hot, but now you are old and ugly".
My Uncles ex wife is a "foermer playmate", and beleive me, if you saw her, calling her a "playmate" just doesnt work.

I was very disappointed that Dr. Phil did not rip those two a new one. Damn him. I think this whole thing was CBS's way of trying to show people that they care about spousal abuse by giving them Dr. Phil time. Instead it just proved what ratings whores they really are. That having been said, beautiful work b-side, the video speaks for itself at how assenine these two are. Bring on Amber and Dumb Rob...

Hey Marbacca! Rob is not dumb. He's my best friend and we totally grew up together and...well, not really, but people always seem to say that. I mean really, do they spend all day googleing famous people they went to high school with and if they find something bad feel the need to respond to it? I always hate those people.
Anyway, I love Rob and Ambuh! But they sure did blow that first $1,100,000 quickly...
