TVgasm Interviews Team JV about Fear Factor Fight -
by madeyoulaugh
In February 2006, as TVgasm was experimenting with its video capabilities, Amazing Race's Jonathan and Victoria agreed to come in and be our first official interview on TVgasm to help promote the March premiere of Fear Factor Reality Edition. NBC delayed the airing of the show until summer, which unfortunately meant our interview would have to go into the TVgasm vault...
I'm assuming Team JV were so impressed with our fair and balanced and ultimately complementary coverage when they were on TAR back in the day, they couldn't wait to pop in and say hello face to face.
Well, lucky for me, the pair didn't gang up and beat the crap out of me, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a fight to be had. On Fear Factor Reality Edition, which premieres tonight on NBC and continues as a three part series, Joe Rogan and Jonathan Baker came to blows while Jonathan was....are you ready for this..... defending his wife!!
Interview after the jump...
Team JV had to really watch what they said with regards to the fight as this was shot almost immediately after the taping of the Fear Factor, and they were under contract to keep their mouths shut, but here is a portion of our interview where I got them to chat briefly about their experience on the show.

You mean "complimentary," not "complementary."

Those glasses and that pose sweet Jonathan was sporting just scream "asshole".
What I find interesting is at no point did they mention that Victoria had punched another contestant and that's what Rogan was pissed at her for. And at no point did Jon Boy calmly snap Rogan's ego. He was getting up in his face for crying out loud.
The delusions this couple lives under are astounding.
The true magic of this episode though lays in the fact that for the first time ever, I enjoyed Johnny Fairplay. His smacktalk was wonderful, but that's all it was, smacktalk. Definitely not worth punching him over.

i came upon fear factor today, there was absolutely no promo for it, i did not see comercials for it days before today, but i have to say it was entertaining today. never have i saw rogan on fear factor come to blows with other contestants.
like fairplay said jon is going to defend victoria after he's been pegging her down? so basically all rogan did was say there was no need to assualt someone (especially scrawny fairplay...hey thats a nice nickname) and i guess the tables were turned onto jon and he then "defended" her and got into rogaine's.. i mean rogan's grill
so... anyways
Liz was hilarious,
Trishelle eww
the American Idol team won
haha
The blonde on the apprentice team was such a corporate shill she was clapping expecting people to clap as well when the Idols gave them the pass

I havent watched the actual episode yet, but from what I heard from Jonathan and Victoria and what I read online back when it happened, it sounded to me like Joe Rogan was totally out of line. A host of a show touching a contestant? I guess Ill know more when I watch the episode, but from what I understand so far, I and based soley on heresay I think Rogans to blame.
how bout you?

How come the others had no problem, and then the alligator only turns when Victoria does the stunt? hmmm.
Was there any doubt that these two would bicker. Of course they would. The couples bicker, the married couples bicker, they just seem only like that when they are in competition mode. At least from other racers from TAR they said they were great out of the race, but posessed within.
Maybe the smacktalk was nothing. It was all clearly edited. It seems Victoria thought JFP was crossing the line, and Joe is defintely out of the line for hitting someone whom the person was only standing up defending his wife and the slander remarks. I guess standing up to Joe broke his ego and he snapped.

As with most of the clips on the site these days I can't see them but can't even hear these. I did see the show tonight, though and the alligator did not just turn when Victoria was in there. Each time the contestants went in the tunnel the alligator turned- ITS HEAD ONLY. The alligator was incapable of turning it's body and couldn't haven't reached Victoria. She was just a big cry baby. While Scrawny Johnny was his usual charming a-hole self, the stuff he was screaming was the stuff Jonathon tended to scream at Victoria anyway. It was stupid but, in my opinion, had no affect on Victoria's performance. She had no right to punch Fairplay especially since people who go on these shows sign contracts that do not allow for this sort of thing. Not to mention it wasn't mature. Now the stuff between Jonathon and Joe was edited but Jonathon was getting right up in Joe's face screaming in defence of Victoria when all Joe had done was berate her for her out of line behavior. Okay, he did make a crack about Jonathon hitting Victoria but those two should be used to that by now. Personally I'm glad Jonathon had to physically back up his talk and wish we could have seen the entire thing. What amazed me was that the Miz (of all people) was the one to break it up. Where was the staff of the show?

Jonathon:"Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa!!!"
Joe Rogan:"No whoa, whoa, whoa whoa!!!"
Hedlock ensues. That was hilarious!!!

Jonathan is a spoiled brat and he married a total toolfuck, that's why he's so angry all the time. I couldn't even make it through that clip, his smug arrogance and complete inability to interpret what he sees in the mirror daily as '100% ASSHOLE' is mind boggling.

i must confess, when i heard that jonathan and rogan were going to throw knucks, i had to tune in for the trainwreck, and it was actually a pretty entertaining show. the demolition derby looked like a lot of fun, and it was great to catch up with good ol' twila, though i could barely recognize her since she stole weird al yankovic's hair.
and yet here were our old pals jonathan and victoria, screaming at each other per usual, with jonathan throwing in a few requisite abusive epithets and calling his wife a bitch at least three times. at first i felt a little sorry for vickie, but once the alligator incident rolled around, i'd had about enough of her. it's fear factor, for pete's sake. even desperate fame-whores ought to know better than to sign up if they can't handle icky stuff, and that the producers are going to make sure you're safe from alligator attacks (you could see some sort of harness on it in certain shots). vickie especially should have been prepared to handle jonny fairplay's trashtalking, since he's famous for delighting in the 'reality TV villain' role.
but then after vickie slugged fairplay (looks like those tae-bo workouts are paying off), it seemed to me that rogan was itching to get in on the fun, and pretty much picked a fight with jon. it was unclear from the tape who touched who first, but rogan was definitely the instigator.
still--team JV (we all know you're reading this): give up the dream, you two. despite what your west hollywood agent might be telling you, there IS such a thing as bad publicity. you have nowhere left to go at this point but 'the surreal life.' you've got a nice life, you're both pretty people (well, vickie, anyway), and everyone seems to like you when you're not on TV. and, given that you have cried foul about how your appearances on TAR and dr. phil were edited, i'm wondering: why subject yourself to another round of abuse?
stick to the spa business, and let this little flirtation with fame/infamy fade off into memory.

Jonathon and Victoria are the worst sports ever. In all sports and games (with the exception of boxing) hitting another player with your fists is grounds for automatic elimination. Didn't they teach us this in kindergarten?
Also, did anyone else wonder if that was a mechanical aligator underground? It kept turning in the same direction and it looked a little bit fake to me.

you folks are ignoring the most important part of the night:
The Divas from American Idol smoked the alligator obstacle course! And to add insult to injury, they then stood around with fuzzy towels wrapped around their throats to "protect their instruments."
And as much as I hate Joe "Ultimate Fighter" Rogan, it did seem like he was defending himself by holding Jonathon's head down, all elementary-school stylee.

While I cannot stand Jonny Scrawny, I cannot STAND Team JV more and that's the ONLY reason I enjoyed the taunts. But, Joe DID encourage the smack talk so he was obviously expecting a showdown at the end of the stunt...oh right, they did not end the stunt.

ok, pretty sure i randomly caught this episode bc nothing else was on and loved that team JV was there bc i can never get enough of a man yelling at his wife.(can't wait til danny & melinda are there), but he was being his usual asshole self and victoria was whining and crying. me & my friend were dying laughing. johnny fairplay was doing what he does best and it was hilarious. why it affected victoria? i dunno, but i do know that she was completely outta line for coming up and punching johnny. and this wasn't a tap. she damn near wound up and hit him that he went flying into trashelle. joe was absolutely right to let her know that she can't just run around hitting people and this is when jonathan wanted to get in joe's face. he kept yelling, joe kept retorting back "no, no, no"(you're bitchy wife can't just run around hitting people). this is when jonathan kept getting closer and closer to joe. now i don't know about yall, but if someone wants to get in my face, in my personal space, i've got every right to be like now i'm gonna need you to back up. so, from what i saw, team JV cemented themselves in reality tv douche bag hall(along with melinda, danny, wes, & jo...well maybe not jo & mel, but they're there by default). joe is a better man than i am, bc i woulda knocked jonathan out. as for his wife, i would have hit that bitch right back. but that's all i had to say. all in all, i laughed my little ass off. loved it!

Ah, they're just the drama bickersons in competition, that's all. Jonathan was just
ready to win, while Victoria panicked too much. She was much better in BoNRS where she was an All-star.
Oh, and Jonathan didn't leave her at the well. Jonathan didn't leave Victoria at the well. He gave her his hand to lift her up, and then she said "I got it" if you guys actually listened, she then couldn't make it up and called back Jonathan, and he came back, but by then she already made it up herself.

Why are people mad at Rogan?
That bitch punched Fairplay, Joe gets on her case about it b/c they're not supposed to do shit like that.
The asshole starts getting up in Joe's face.. and people are mad at Joe for defending himself?
He could've punched the asshole out, but he didn't (wish he had)...
I wish someone would come along and just beat some sense into these 2...

I couldn't believe it! I actually had some sort of respect for Johnny Fairplay!
I had never seen a Fear Factor before, but I had such a blast watching these former reality stars. Is it bad for me to say that I had watched ALL of the shows/seasons that these people were on?

A couple of points:
1. The alligator absolutely did not turn around. As others have mentioned, the cylinder mud-hole it was in was way too narrow (and purosefully so) for it to do a 180.
2. Fairplay was just engaging in the kind of taunts that Fear Factor loves and actively encourages contestants to engage in. Plus, they were actually clever/funny this time.
3. Jonathon was NOT standing up for his wife, IMO. He only got up into Joe's face after Joe said something like, "You two can hit each other at home all you want, but you can't just go up and assault someone here." IMO, Jonathon was reacting more to being accused of spousal abuse then any "defending" of Victoria's honor.
4. The physical stuff was obviously very heavily edited. I think it likely that Joe threw the first punch, seeing as how if Jonathon had done so they probably would have shown it. I wish they would have shown the whole thing unedited though...that would have been so entertaining.

Slandering someone is never right. Nor is hitting a contestant for sticking up for said slander. Being high all the time and on steroids isn't right either. 3 strikes Joe - You're Out.
Many racers from TAR stick up for Jon/Vic so they can't be all that bad. Nothing wrong with getting a little fired up in competition.

Fairplay was just heckling those loosers to panic , w/c they did... and Joe was just telling them that it's acceptable u hit ur teammate/wife or husband but not other contestants. it's as simple as that. this prick came to his face and started yelling, acting like a tough guy... i'll do what JOE did. lucky jerk Joe is still in his senses. if it's me? i'll beat him pretty hard and feed him to the alligator. hehehe! GO JOE! GO UFC!

Been away on vacay so only now able to catch up on my DVR. From what I saw Team JV (lol as if there is anything "team" about them)was doing what they always do. Being obnoxious and awful. And they were unfortunate enough to be met with someone equally obnoxious (Johnny). I love that Jonathan can be horrible as hell with Victoria and she's fine with it -but when Fairplay does it she gets violent. Guess it's easy for her to hit someone smaller than herself (wonder where she learned that).
MYL - I think you are going soft on them - which is a concern when you guys meet someone quasi-famous you lose all your snark powers. Reality Star sightings seem to be the snark version of kryptonite.
