I wish they would do away with the pretense of including a plus-size model. Especially since in this particular case, I just don't think Diane looks "high fashion" at all, but they're gonna keep her around for a while to seem more inclusive and all that. Don't mind that Ebony got the boot this week, but I do think Ashley was robbed last week seems only on account of her stupid "pretty gene" comment.

Great write-up. I do think the right girl went home. She looked least modelish to me, although she has great skin. My favs are Kyle, Bre, and Lisa in that order; they're gorgeous. I think Cassandra looks great with that new hair, but I can totally sympathize with how she felt. If they have it, most women love their long hair. And for those to say oh it'll grow back, well it will take some time to get back to that length. So I was dying when Miss. J said that Coryn was tryin to do Beyonce but got Rupaul! She still looks kinda manly to me. I thought Jayla and Sarah looked better before the make-overs.

Nice write-up, J-Unit. A few thoughts: when James St. James hit the set, I was sure it was Trotter from Upright Citizens Brigade. The way he was acting, I was sure it was a deep infiltration. Good job, Trotter! Second, Cassandra looks like a cross between James Carville and E.T.; well, she looks like James Carville. She is gone soon.

My favorites are lisa, nicole, and kyle. ashley was one of the hottest ones; had she made it past last week she would've been around for a while.

I like Kim and Lisa the best. Lisa is annoying as hell but all of those girls should be so prepared. She cracks me up and the others making fun of her cracks me up, too. This is gonna be an awesome season.

As for the guy stuff about Coryn... maybe... but I'm not convinced. I dated Namoli B. for a long time and learned some stuff about gender expression. Coryn seems too natural, in that you don't see her watching the other girls the way I've observed a LOT of M2F people watching girls... you have to remember that with M2F, there's usually a dude mentality that doesn't go away just because the parts are all in place. I would totally think Coryn would seem more "acting" or seem more driven if she was trans.
She just seems too comfortable. But. I don't want to stereo-type anything except myself: Chubby, ex-sorority girls who drink a lot will never be on ANTM!!

I like Sarah, but I always seem to root for the big awkward girl who gets nervous and can't walk in heels (last season's Michelle, for example.)

Also, I think they deliberately give the snooty bitchy girl the super dramatic makeover she'll hate on purpose. It's definitely happened before (cycle 2?)

Everyone keeps making muppel eagle references here but i think that black guy on this season's apprentice, now he is the real guy who looks like the eagle.

I agree that Nicole's "Best picture of the night" wasn't all that great, but maybe it's because she sort of reminds me of Winnie from "The Wonder Years", and Winnie doesn't exactly inspire thoughts of high fashion or top-model beauty. Sara is my fave now with her haircut, and Lisa is also up there. You're right about Nik too, her make-over should have been called a make-under (I thought they were supposed to try to make the girls looks better, and not to make them look like skinny lions)...

My favorite is Kim... I think she's hot, I'd buy something if she told me to, and she's down to earth. I like Sara too. I think Nik is going to win, because... it seems like who they'd pick, she photographs really well, and the look they picked for her (bohemian chic) is like... super marketable right now. I think it would have been HILARIOUS if they had kicked Cassandra off right after they cut her hair. Because she's crazy and hugely bitchy. I really think that, even though Lisa's okay in pictures, she's just hideous in the rest of the show.

I'm a bit surprised at all the Kim raves. As J-Unit says, "Hmm, Wesleyan, lesbian, short hair, it's her thing all right; she just shares it with a lot of people." I don't dislike her, she's lovely, but I just don't think she's extraordinarly unusual or cool. And her sour grapes at losing that style competition were not cool. I could walk down the street and find loads of girls that look the same if not better pretty easily. Besides, her photos were pretty blah, and I don't see 'em getting better.

Great job J-Unit! I think Lisa looks like Sandra Bernhard's little sister yet surprisingly, she photograpghs really well. I think it is because she has definitely done her homework and it shows. I am always surprised when ANTM contestants don't know the names of designers or models. I think the only other girl that could really make it would be Kyle. I cannot stand Cassandra. Although her hair looks great, she doesn't have the style or edge to carry it off. She is not model material.

In my opinion, pretty much none of this season's girls are top model quality. I have no idea why they got picked, but for me, no one seems to stand out. Just my two cents!

They should have just kicked off both Ebony and Diane and saved us a week, they both sucked. i'm glad that there seems to be more of a competition this season, last season Naima was a runaway favorite from the very beginning.

I have to say I'm in the Kim camp. Every time she makes fun of someone, it's always exactly what everyone was thinking anyway. I also think she's really hot and if I was going to "experiment" with a chick, man, she would be it.

Lisa just pisses me off royally. Sure, she may know a lot, but the way she presents her knowledge is ridiculously condescending. I do really like her pictures though and think she'll go far.

Lisa looks like that Vulcan on Enterprise, the last Star Trek show. But overall all the girls are fierce this season. Hated to see Ebony go because I think the X-large latina was the worst of the bunch.

Lisa, sweetheart, let me tell you a thing or two that I have learned from a few seasons of ANTM. Now unless you are Adrienne Curry, it is not a good idea to piss off all of the other girls! They will drain you of every ounce of self-esteem and confidence you have, and these are your only tools to win the show. Besides, they won't pick a winner that everyone hates. I can't believe you didn't mention in your recap just who James St James is. He's the guy whose real life Party Monster (the movie with Macauley Culkin) is based on. He's the club kid who killed his dealer in a particularly gruesome and notorious way (hint: drano and dismemberment). It's insane that ANTM could have him on as a "stylist," completely ignoring the fact that he's a vicious former junkie murderer! You know, in addition to wearing dresses.

Well, if it does turn out that Coryn is transgendered wouldn't it be lovely if there can be some kind of evolution in popular discourse that would state that "Coryn is transgendered" hypothetically instead of "she's a man." If she is transgendered she's certainly not a man or was she once a man. Transgendered people are born into the wrong bodies. It's a medical condition which should be refered to properly and respectfully of the people who have this condition.
