Didn't we first hear about this ages ago? Kind of like the "big" announcement all said in one breath, "Rosie is joining the View and Star will be leaving." I didn't realize that she was just announcing this today. Old news, Star. Move on.

I know that we are getting to the bottom of this thread and this probably won't get read, but I just have to comment about The View today...
HOLY CRAP!
Basically, in a nutshell, Babs announced that ABC was not going to renew Stars contract, that she was canned, that her announcement yesterday was sprung on them (they wanted her to basically lie after she got a new job and come on and announce that she was leaving because she wanted to- not because they were letting her go).
So this is how I see it- (and keep in mind, I don't like Star Jones)... Barbara Walters is an evil tyrant who has to be in control and have the last word (YOU KNOW she was fumin' yesterday when Star made that announcement without any warning).
Anyway, I found it interesting... we are all so busy hating on Star Jones, that we didn't necessarily see the big picture (that being that Barbara Walters is most likely one cold bitch).

Yeah, you're definitely right about that. But I still think Barbara Walters was probably furious that Star announced it without giving a chance for Barbara to prepare what she wanted to say. It caught her off guard and so she announced this morning that Star really got canned from ABC. Although, I guess this is all a moot point, because actually Star was the one who blabbed it to People last night.
Who the hell knows- I'm glad she's gone, though. She is a self-pretentious opportunist.

ABC, and perhaps Babwa..are pissed that Star stuck it to them..and excercise THEIR power by firing her. i hate corporations..but if you are going to play hard ball be prepared. Statements like hers are made through publicists or lawyers to the corporation and NOT with terms like.."i hate working here and i hate the new employee...but..i'll keep working for another month and pretend to like her..you won't mind will you?" Negotiate, or try to negotiate and then quit...or..just quit. What she did was self serving but then again it's Star Jones..ex-pundit from court tv..
