Let Me See Your Samba Roll -
by J-Unit
So, did the ballerina help? I would have to say yes, because Kelly and Alec had a truly exciting routine, despite a wardrobe malfunction. Yes, you could say that Alec had a wardrobe malfunction even walking on to the stage in that Brian Boitano meets the Green Lantern (when is that movie coming out?) getup, but that's not what I am talking about. Kelly and Alec love being daring, so they always try to pull off some crazy moves. Since she also wears the skimpiest outfits, it makes for some interesting moments, including tonight, when the strap of her one-shoulder top burst during the middle of a split type move, made even more embarrassing by the fact that I took a screenshot of her during the moment, which also happened to be the time she was flashing the largest proportion of Americans than any other show this week (ie, the show is still tops in ratings).

Julie Chen will have to work hard to beat this camel toe
With her little mishap, Kelly soon became very conscious that her boob may come flying out. This sort of nudity is unacceptable, as it would take away any suspense from the soft core porn/amateur wedding night video she is planning to release in 5 or 6 years to create some buzz in her career when it takes its inevitable plunge into doing signings at comic book conventions (where she would dress up as Wonder Woman) or as a Westminster Kennel Club sideline reporter. With all of the hip action and spins she was performing during the routine, she either had to be very careful or let America know whether she has tan lines or not (my guess, she's tan line free). Kelly was great, using one of her arms to cover herself just in case, yet still was able to pull off the timing and the footwork great. The judges rewarded her and Alec with a 26, the highest score of the week. They also said she was the most-improved contestant, which seemed to make her even more happy.
Up you go!
When it came time for the voting, Rachel and Jonathan and John and Charlotte were left for elimination. Things are getting much more difficult now that the two most obviously poor performing teams are gone. Each of the remaining teams has their own style and their owns strengths and weaknesses. I was sort of surprised to see Rachel up there, especially considering she did so well with the judges, but the internet can be fickle, and not only did it drop her into the bottom half of the draw, it dropped her out of the competition.
When her name was called to leave, Rachel was distraught. She was working very hard, as have all the celebrities, but she really wanted it bad. She held back the tears, gave all the judges a hug and kiss, and danced for perhaps the last time with Jonathan.
So, we weren't able to save Evander, but it is imperative that we keep John O'Hurley in the game, folks. Joey is too bland, and Kelly has taken a sort of robotic approach to her dancing, cutting down on her mistakes, but making it look like she is dancing with half the working joints that she should have. Should be interesting, as I think they do the Fox Trot and Paso Doble next week. Who do you think should have been eliminated? Who are you hoping goes home next week?

bah. Why cover Dancing with the stars when Beauty and the Geek is on? That Richard geek would provide hours of entertainment, seeing he's straight out of hollywood's view of a "nerd".

If John O'Hurley gets eliminated, I will be very angry. He has been consistently good and is a great showman.

As to the numbers on their backs going up to 5, I think they have kept the same numbers from the first night. For example, to vote for Joey, his number ends in 1 and his number was 1 last night. I think Evander was 3.

I'm glad Rachel is gone...it was just too awkward watching her big body with her partner's little one...maybe if she'd been teamed up with someone bigger than she was it wouldn't have been so painful to watch. I didn't like Kelly at first and thought she was an egotistical little diva, but she's grown on me over the weeks and I really liked her last night and thought she covered the costume disaster very well. Her small stature is definitely an advantage. She may even end up in the final two if she has a big enough internet voting base. However, to me it's come down to Joey or John. Joey definitely is the better dancer and I like Ashley much better than Charlotte, but John is definitely the better showman. Since this is a TV show and not a sanctioned dance competition, I'm gonna have to go with John and Charlotte winning.

First of all (wow, I just started a sentence with "first of all"), I hate it when people talk about Rachel being "large"...are you kidding me? She's yummy.
I also love John but I really think Joey has more dance talent. It would be hard for me to have to pick between the two.
This show has major potential but needs to be tweaked a bit here and there to be spectacular.
But it definitely makes me want to start taking ballroom dancing lessons!

John (and Charlotte) just might be the most boring couple ever to grace a dance floor! The only one who has any energy and movement ability is Joey.

Watching Kelly Monaco continually grope herself was awesome!!!

I've liked John for as long as I can remember. He's brilliant. I love, love, love him on this show. Having said that, I'm torn between him and the other two couples. I think they're all doing a fantastic job - the three couples who are gone are exactly who I wanted gone. As for Kelly, I really applaud her for working so hard and earning the approval of the judges (who, btw, I didn't even agree with - I always thought they were way too mean) I've told people that I don't think I could continue as she has. Those people would've had me in tears.
Oh and btw, J-Unit and B-side you guys truly brighten my day with your recaps. I enjoy reading them more than watching the various shows. I'm always sad when there's none to read (I know, I need a life).

Can't they all win? The three that are left are all my favorites.
I am glad that giant of a woman, Rachel is gone. She just wasn't graceful. I think the male judges just had the hots for her.

I think the show is great, however, they use unfair judgement. I believe they should be judged only by the judges. Obviously, the audience is going to judge who they like, not judge their technique & posture. A lot of people don't know anything about this type of dance. Kelly has been doing very well lately, however, she should've been booted off from the beginning because of her dancing. Not staying on because of her acting on GH. I'm a Latin dancer & I can tell who's great & who's not. Competitions should be voted only by judges, where it's fair. A.D.

I felt so sorry for Rachel & her partner for losing the competition. That was so unfair. They did extremely well from the start. I believe that if the audience didn't have a say, they would've stayed on top. It doesn't matter to me who wins. However, I believe it should be a fair competition, which I believe it is not.

Joey is improving each dance and could suprise everyone.Evander is missed! John needs to double his time in practice, since he has never shown me much at all except that goofy look on his face! This program will show watchers how fickle those judges in ballroom are!! Good luck JOEY!!

An apparent phone number mix-up has voters for an ABC reality show calling a central Michigan answering service instead. Fans of "Dancing with the Stars" were mistakenly calling a toll-free 888 number to vote for the dance team lead by actor John O'Hurley, known for his role as J. Peterman on the sitcom "Seinfeld."
The phone number to vote for his team was an 866 number, according to ABC's Web site.
"People are saying that they are getting the number off the screen," phone operator Alannah Turnwald told the Morning Sun for a recent story.
Kathy Klein, owner of Mt. Pleasant Answering Service, said she was getting 200 to 300 mistaken calls on Wednesdays, when the show airs.
"You can tell when the show ends at every time zone because the phones ring off the hook at the top of every hour," she said.
Calls cost Klein's answering service 6 cents per minute, plus the cost of an extra employee she has been forced to hire to weed them out. She said she wants ABC to reimburse her for the calls.
The network learned of the mix-up Thursday and is investigating, said Lauren Tobin, a spokeswoman for ABC.
"It's clearly a case of people misreading the number on the screen," Tobin said.
=========================
Does anyone have the show on tape (or Tivo) to know if the number really was wrong on the show?
Either way, good thing the calls were for a couple who hasn't been eliminated.

did kelly monaco pose for playboy? seems there was one

Yeah. Kelly Monaco did pose for Playboy. As a matter of fact, do a Google image search and you'll find a veritable pornucopia of naked Kelly.
Or so I've heard.

Go Kelly! She rocks. And have you noticed how good she looks without make up? Sometimes she goes on camera (General Hospital) without make up.

I really enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars. It doesn't matter who wins or loses, I think they are all great.

I think John O'Hurley should stay.

I'm so pleased that Kelly won. She is a go-getter and she deserved it.
