Recap: Dancing with the Stars: We Have Our Finalists! -
by B-Side
Anyhoo, a quick fast forward later and we're back to the results. Tom says that "in three seasons, this is the hardest goodbye we're going to have to say." Samantha then adds, "I plan to stammer my way through the entire thing!"
Okay, she doesn't say that. She only lets out a "Here, here." And now. Finally. Results. Our first finalist is...
Mario and Karina! Of course. How could they not be? This means bad news for Joey. I think. Right? He looks crazy nervous. Mr. Clean knows it's time to go. Or is it?
The person going home tonight is...
Joey and Edyta. As predicted. He better give a "Whoa" for all us at home.
Anyway, Joey descends from the dais of dancers to say some parting words to Tom. Honestly, he looks like he's about to cry, and there's nothing quite as fun as man-tears on live TV. Cry! Cry! Cry!
Alas, his cheery bobblehead replaces whatever sadness was in his eyes. My dreams of man-tears evaporate in an instant, but when the video montage of Joey's greatest moments starts, my hope is reborn anew. Tears? Tears? Even the producers are seemingly begging for tears as the cameras zoom in ultra close to his face. C'mon, Joey. Give us a sparkle. Some mist. Just flick some water on your face, dammit! We'll be happy with that!
And so the semi-finals come to a close at long last. Joey and Edyta are done, leaving Mario and Karina and Emmitt and Cheryl (the reigning winner, no less) to duke it out next week. Who do you think will win? Should Joey have gone home tonight?

Thanks for getting this up so fast as I missed the results show. I'm sad to see Joey go but I guess it had to be that way. I'll miss the anxiety I felt wondering just what damage would be done if that bulging vein in his head burst on live tv.

In the words of Mike Boogie, Joey was a 'class act'.

b-side- i felt so sorry for tvgasm when joey was sent home. all your hopes and dreams, crushed. by one bald bobblehead.
i must make one correction. i think the erstwhile slater's saved by the bell girlfriend spelled her name jessie. that is in fact the more "girly" spelling. but that's just me being nit-picky. otherwise- fabulous recap. we seem to fast forward through the same stuff!

I was not a big fan of Joey this season but he does seem like a genuinely nice guy and in the end I was sort of hoping he'd pull out an upset over Mario. I also liked that Emmitt and Cheryl refrained from celebrating their place in the finals when Joey got the boot.
My biggest disappointment last night was that I was hoping to hear, "What Have I Done To Deserve This." But, "West End Girls" was OK too I guess. :)

I was looking for the tears too! I totally thought I saw some in the group hug goodbye portion of the evening. Edyta was a rock though! No tears for her.

I was sooooo hoping for a Joey/Emmitt showdown. You just know they're going to hand this to Mario next week. Joey looked fantastic and I'll really miss his boyish enthusiasm. Just one last thing--Whoa!

Sad - I was hoping that Joey would go through to the finals with Mario. Although Emmett is a great performer and very likeable, I've never thought his dancing is as sharp as the other two. Oh well, what do I know?
And by the way, POOR HARRY! Being the only non-pro male in the tour-group dance, his "I-dance-like-the-tin-woodsman" style was even more painfully obvious last night. Someone get the poor guy some glucosamine.

I was really hoping Tom would request Joey to break out just one "Whoa" as a farewell! Also, haven't the previous musical guests performed 2 songs, whereas the PSB only did one?

Highlight of the night: the return of Anna Trebunskiya! But only because I love saying her last name so much.
The highlights ended there. I was sad to see Joey go home. MARIO MUST GO DOWN NEXT WEEK!
Why was Elizabeth Berkeley so shiny looking?

Sadie, I agree with your comments about Harry! His performance was painful to watch. However, he wasn't the only non-pro male in the tour group - Joey McIntyre from Season 1 is also an non-pro.
I kept wondering what Harry & Lisa's kids are going to do while their parents are dancing on the tour.
