As they are leaving, Bree storms in and calmly asks Danielle to speak with her in the other room. Danielle declines, to which Bree leaps for the phone. Matthew ain’t having that and he rips the phone out of the wall. The wheels in Danielle’s head finally start turning as her mother explains how Matthew is the real killer of Melanie Foster. Danielle obviously thinks that’s the “lamest thing I’ve ever heard,” to which I was hoping that her mother would say: “Oh yeah! Well you’re the lamest thing I’ve ever seen!” Bree, however, takes the high road and blocks the door so they can’t leave. Matthew then takes out a gun, and Bree tells him he’ll have to shoot her in order to get out of there with her daughter. At this point, I’ve got to admit that I’m kind of thinking that maybe Bree should let Matthew take Danielle and just start over because she is not exactly batting a thousand with her current brood. Sure, she’s about 126 years old, but if technology can still paste her face together, it should be able to allow her to carry a child to term. And sure her ex-boyfriend was a sex/booze addict, and he slept with her son, but other than that, he seemed like a really nice guy. Alas, Bree doesn’t take my advice, and simply walks closer to the gun, egging Matthew on because she wins either way. If he shoots, her daughter will see him for what he is, and her alien creators will just recreate her. Danielle finally comes to her senses and starts screaming at Matthew, telling him not to point the gun at her mother. Happy Belated Mother’s Day, Bree! Unfortunately for Matthew he didn’t have to put his gun down because the 911 call that Betty made 10 minutes ago has gotten an entire swat team down to Wisteria Lane. One of those marksman decides not to disarm 17 year old Matthew but to instead, SHOOT HIM IN THE HEART! What? Who does that? I get the dramatic intent, but all I kept thinking was, why don’t they just shoot him in the arm, leg, shoulder, knee? Oh well, that’s why my application for Wisteria Lane Swat Team (WLST) was denied, I guess.

On Wisteria Lane the police are carting away Matthew’s dead corpse – WHOOPS -- as all the neighbors are looking on. Danielle is crying, and Bree is consoling, and everyone is pretty torn up, including Betty.

BUT…I’M… AN… OSCAR… NOMINEE!!!

Remember when I said things seemed like they were going to end poorly for Susan tonight? Well, while Mike is heading on his way to see Susan, he stops and gets her some flowers, knowing that in order to get into Susan Meyer’s pants, you need to at least ply her with some sort of gift. Just ask Ryan Secrest. But then, WHOA, Mike gets mowed down by someone in a red car. First instinct is that it’s Carl, but wouldn’t you know it – its Orson the Dentist, or as I think I might start calling him, Dr. Giggles (IMDB that reference). I’m actually pretty torn up for Susan for thinking she is being ditched by Mike as she leaves him an umpteenth message. Then I get really upset that I care in the first place! So to feel better, I run outside and find a puppy to kick. Ahh. There we go. Much better.

We are then treated to what I can only hope and pray is Mary Alice’s last voiceover ever (sadly, I think not). Susan with bangs. Bree looking like a J. Crew catalog vomited all over her. Tom & Lynette with twins on the way. Gabrielle and Carlos doin’ it and doin’ it and doin’ it wellll. And then we see Mary Alice for one last time, all perfect and sweet, and not at all bullet-in-brain dead. In the present we see the Applewhites have packed up their moving truck and are hitting the road (PEACCCCE!), with the big shock being Dr. Giggles. The next morning he leaves his car with some flowers (the same ones Mike was holding when he mowed him down?), and you assume he’s moving in for the kill (PUNS!) with Susan. SHOCK. He’s actually heading over to Bree’s house, and she invites him in. Apparently, Dr. Giggles likes his women just a little crazy, and Bree likes her men, well, just a little crazy too.

Well thanks for sticking with me for this EXXXXTRA long recap! Letters to Marc Cherry asking him to never again let a 2 hour episode occur would be greatly appreciated. So what did you think of the season finale? The season, was pretty mediocre, but the new characters introduced here kind of piqued my interest. What do you think? Did the season finale make you want to watch or open up a space in your TiVO for next season? Do you care about Orson/Nora/The Lady in White? Were you glad to see the Applewhites go? Hopefully, I’ll be back here recapping in the fall. In the mean time, I’ll definitely be posting over the summer.

Let's see ... Bree's track record with men ... sexual deviant Rex. Homicidal nutcase pharmacist dude (aleady forgot his name). Sexual deviant long-hair alcoholic dude (did his character even have a name?) And now the murderous Orson. Christ. She should just hook up with Gabby or Susan. They're both going to be single, and hot Wisteria Lane lesbian action would make this show so much better.

Alas, AC Slater did not end up with Alex or Jesse Spano, but rather some floozy from Vegas (I want to say her name is Paula or Vicki but I can't remember) that was previously associated with some gang member. Alex and Jesse had at max a total of 4 minutes screen time in that movie.
Okay now I'm a tad embarassed I remember this movie.

It doesn't seem to me like the actress who played Nora in last week's episode was the Saved By the Bell chick. I know we only saw her through a window, but she seemed kinda classy, not trashy. I hope this marks the return of the Lynette I liked from last season. Now I rememebr why I liked her. She was great in that coffee shop when she started raising her voice. Well, sophomore slump should be over, and hopefully, this show will get back on track.

I will admit, this show is my dirty little secret. The story lines and action of the show are so unbelivable I can't help but turn away. This season was pretty mediocre, but I think the season finale helped things. I'm def. gonna watch next season just to see where the Orson story line goes.

Thanks Umnata for a great recap. I had lost interest in the show and only watched the finale because I felt obligated. Was very happy to see returning characters though, ie. Rex.

If they've opened a story line for Orson, does that mean that In Justice is cancelled? That's the first time I enjoyed a character played by Kyle MacLachlan. Sniff!

Wonderful recap! I especially enjoyed your Inconceivable! insert.

I dont know what your day job is but QUIT and work for TVGASM. For that matter, run TVGASM. Your recaps rock and your screen clips are too hilarious. I will be fired today for sure. If the tears of laughter running down my face dont do it then it might be for laughing out loud, or falling out of my chair.

You should no longer be the Guest Columnist. This recap should have you on permanent status!! this recap was by far one of the funniest I have ever read

Great show, great recap - cant wait for next season!

SOOOOO glad the Applewhites are gone. Never once did I care what was happening with their storyline.

All the same, I think next season will be pretty tedious, based on what they've set up for us here. Consider:
- Mike is in jeopardy again (after being threatened at gunpoint by Zach in the last season finale), so we've been there before
- The Nora/Lynette/Tom storyline looks ridiculously irritating; the actress playing Nora is annoying (in a bad actor-y way), and there can only be, what, about 2 episodes' worth of stuff there (kinda like the Matthew/Caleb/Betty debacle that covered a whole season. zzz...)
- Bree falling for another deviant/homicidal creep? Insert eye roll here.
- Baby-buying and abusive surrogacy on the part of Gabrielle and Carlos? No thanks.
- Zach isn't gone; I think he will somehow become a pubescent megalomaniacal schemer now that he has Grandpapa's fortune. This kid has always been a snooze, and no doubt that his "evil teen with money" plot will be a snooze, too.

A friend of mine took DH off her Tivo Season Pass immediately after watching the finale. I might have to consider doing the same.

For the most part, I disagree with Mikey (#8). I think next season will be interesting.

- Why did Orson run over Mike? It wasn't because he's ga-ga over SkeleHatcher, he's ga-ga over Bree. Hmmm, must be something to do with his old dentistry days...
- I agree that Nora is annoying (however, not as annoying as the gal who plays Charlie's love interest in Numb3rs) but we haven't met the daughter yet and I think Tom is lying about it being an "old" fling. Why was he going upstairs with Nora in the previous episode??
- I do agree with the 'Bree falling in love with another deviant creep' point. (insert MY eyeroll here) However, Andrew could return and wreak all sorts of havoc.
- I think ChowMein will retaliate against Gabby, maybe even run away with Carlos. This story line could get interesting no matter what happens.
- I think that now Zack is an evil teen with money, he will break out of his snoozefest.

DH will be staying on my season pass.

I'm just glad that someone else figured out who Nora, aka Alex, is. I knew immediately (seriously, who could forget that voice) and no one else in my family understood how great it is at all. Alas, none of them are of the Saved by the Bell generation... Oh how I miss it.

Hey all -

first off, thanks for some great comments. really keeps me going and thiking of new ways to make fun of/honor DH.

2nd, last week james denton (aka mike delfino) gave an interview saying how upset he and some of the cast members were about the glutton of characters this season, and they were told that the characters who live (mike's fate is still questionable, but im pretty sure he'll stick around), that a lot of extraneous characters will not be back in the third season. the way things ended with paul in jail and zack with $$$ (and off wisteria lane) and felicia tillman in her kathy bates in misery-style cottage, made me consider that the Youngs (along with the applewhites) wouldn't be returning. I might be way off... but that was at least my reasoning.

This episode surprised me! It was actually... GOOD!? There is definitely potential for crazy, interesting plots for next season. I'll keep watching. Especially with the Applewhites now dead/or moved out. It was about time, Marc Cherry!

*Eddie/Umnata;
Excellent recap! You are awesome. :)

I like the finale, it made up for the majority of the season.

Isn't Nora also the same stripper-friend of Vivica Fox's character in "Independence Day" who went to the rooftop to greet the aliens & got incinerated?

Now that Zach is a millionaire, will he stop wearing polos buttoned to the top?

Really great recap -- almost as good as b-side's, and that's saying something. Loved your screen-cap captions -- funny stuff.
Esp loved the comparison btw Samuel L and Skele's random 'fro. Nice!

"minions from hell" - YES! (little shits)

Sorry to be a bit of a trainspotter here, but it's 'coup de grace' -- we're talking about grace, not grease!

Also playing a little *ditty* on the piano -- little diddies = small boobies.

#3 -- I agree with you -- the stunt double for Nora sure looked a lot classier than the space cadet that jumped out of that cab.
#5 -- apparently you have never seen the Twin Peaks series? Bc Kyle was really great in that.
#8 -- I really enjoyed the gal who plays Nora, esp in the cafe scene (sadly, I never watched Saved by the Bell, and feel my childhood is deficient for this tragic reason...)

In conclusion, methinks you mean 'glut' of characters, but umnata gonna picka you up on typos after this. (I ignored the others.)
Anyone who knows how to spell 'piqued' deserves a bye.

Thanks for the awesome recap! I'm definitely intrigued by the Nora/Scavo storyline as well as Kyle's Killer Dentist backstory.

DMG, I totally agree. Kyle WAS great in Twin Peaks (as well as Blue Velvet).

I was glad that the season finale was so much better than the previous episodes. This season was pretty lame--seems like they brought back the good writers for this last epi.

Great recap Eddie/Umnata!

So - now that we have the Saved by the Bell link - that means Kyle (Orson) is one sleazy degree of separation from SBTB's Nora - and that degree would be Jessie's spin in ShowGirls.

ick - I feel so dirty now.

How much plastic surgery do you think that Alex from SBTB has had. My husband and I were not even sure that was her at first because her eyes and forehead were so tight and wierd looking.
