Newsgasm: T.R. Knight is the new Ellen -
by Tabloid Baby
Well, it doesn't really matter, does it? What does matter is that T.R. Knight's coming out statement has proven to be historically significant when it comes to television and Hollywood. T.R., like Ellen DeGeneres, has become a TV pioneer.
The AfterElton.com website notes that the 33-year-old Knight's portrayal of Dr. George O'Malley is already a "conterbalance to some of the more testosterone driven roles on the show."
But it's the softie doc's tumble in the sack with Dr. Meredith Grey and his romance with Callie Torres that will have future viewers watching Grey's with the same new eye we give reruns of Perry Mason and The Brady Bunch.
The site says: "Knight's announcement will make him one of the few openly gay actors on television playing a straight man involved in a heterosexual relationship. Most openly gay actors end up portraying either gay men or straight men not involved in romantic relationships."
AfterElton cites two other openly-gay actors currently playing heterosexual loverboys on television. The website also notes in a disclaimer that "AfterElton.com is not affiliated with Elton John."

Well it's about damn time. Anytime I hear of someone staying in the closet for their career I always feel the need to say "You know it's 2006, right?" There is a man in my office who makes Austin Scarlet look like a lumberjack and I just found out that he is engaged to his college sweetheart, some extremely hot black chick, and has been engaged to her for years. I find this not only confounding but offensive when someone is so determined to stay in the closet that they will actually marry a woman and live in complete denial for years, occasionally sneaking off to some adult bookstore in jersey for some oral gratification. As progressive as this country claims to be, it's amazing to me how many people are still afraid of the reprecussions of coming out, when it usually amounts to nothing but a couple articles on TVgasm and a cover story on The Advocate which no one will read bypassing it for the underwear ads in the back.

you know what I find annoying, posters that criticize others spelling and word choice, only not to even spell KINDERGARTNER correctly
I don't watch battlestar galactica, so I dont read those posts-- Idon't go to that comment section and bitch about people that read that post, so if you don't want to read what tb posts, no one is making you.
