Ham! Eggs! HUMPTY!! -
by m_ruv
Then seemingly everyone in the cast kisses and makes up. In the stairwell, Shepherd assures Meredith that he wants things between them to work out, but he needs time to take some space. Webber approaches Izzie and compliments her for taking initiative and empathizing with the burn patient, even though she wasn't technically allowed to. And Callie tells George she's sorry she was rude to him and that she understands the importance of pigs, eggs, and ham. It's true love. Anyway, George has such a PROFOUND, SENSUAL effect on her that she needs him to stop chasing her until he's truly ready to catch her. HEY, why wasn't I invited to the APOLOGYFEST AT SGH TONIGHT.

"I'm fucked."
And finally, Cristina sits in the locker room, looking totally miserable and panicked. Meredith tells her that whatever the problem is, she's there to talk about it whenever Cristina's ready. Cristina appreciates this. Later, as Cristina's writing something else on the surgery board out in the hall, Bailey walks by. At one point she sees Cristina erase something from the board, then suddenly puts it all together—that it was Cristina who erased her name. A look of angry disbelief crosses Bailey's face. And with that, the episode closes, with a final word of advice from voiceover-Meredith that we have to "choose our commitments very carefully."
I thought this was a good episode—a great ending especially. I also like how Alex is all about birthing these days. But the show seems to be lapsing into formulaic territory. It's the same every week:
- ten minutes of humorous banter
- ten minutes presenting patients
- fifteen minutes of moral/ethical handwringing regarding the patient's procedure and/or any domestic dramas that may be involved therewith
- several tense moments spent cutting back and forth between two surgeries that are then interrupted by commercial to provide suspense about which patient(s) live(s)/die(s)
- an indirect revelation of which patient(s) died and which one(s) lived
- a tidy denoument that ties up loose ends or introduces new twists
- and let's not forget the final musical montage.
Anyway, I still really enjoy the characters, but I hope the writers vary the formula a bit, because it's getting a little repetitive. Hopefully the next episode—the great outdoors masculine camping trip—will do so. Anyway, how'd we like it?

Do you even like Grey's Anatomy? You seem to hate every aspect and every character on the show.
Just wondering : )

I can't believe you just made me look up tumescent. And such excellent multi-uteri creativity. But poor m-ruv, definitely one of the more bitter entries. (Maybe you were hungover while recapping, or just had a bad headache?) Anyway, to answer xojenxo, I think he still gots some love for Montgomery, Callie and Cristina in her ballsy moments. PS: I can't WAIT to hear what you have to say about the camping trip vis a vis real life events (and by this I mean tabloid stories.)

I'm with xojenxo. You really seem to hate this show. Any chance we can get someone to recap it who isn't a hater?

Not to sound too harsh or anything BUT... I agree 100%... I truly believe that you don't even like this show, which might explain why this entry came 8 days after this episode aired. This is the only show that I don't look forward to the recap for...

Oh, come on! Who cares is M_ruv likes the show or not? He/she is an excellent writer, and I laugh everytime I read the recaps. We all know it's a ridiculous show anyway. Why take it so seriously?
M_Ruv, I hope writing is a profession you're considering....

FOOLIOS. I can apologize for the lateness only so many times. TVgasm writing is a volunteer enterprise, and given that I also have a full-time job, do freelance work on the side, am in the middle of researching grad school, and have both my parents and several friends currently visiting town, I'm sure you understand. The next recap, though, should be up by Monday.
Incidentally, I do greatly enjoy the show. For gushing, completely uncritical recaps, I'd suggest http://www.greyswriters.com.

I liked your recap - funny as always. :) It was fun to see Miss Honey (from the movie Matilda) as Sister Shepard.

M_ruv, if you're too busy to recap, maybe you should hand the duties off to someone else. Preferably someone who doesn't capitalize unnecessary things every paragraph.

m_ruv, great recap!
I had never watched this show until about 6 weeks ago. I decided to see what all the damn fuss was about. It's an OK show....but I see it's quickly taking the "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives" route by becoming ridiculous instead of entertaining.
Meredith "getting lost in selfabsorbtionland"....LOVE IT!!
Also, I am soooo sick of the "Mc" this, and "Mc" that...that thing ran it's course loooooong ago!
Thanks for the recaps though! I like 'em!

"George, meanwhile, tries to talk to Callie again by way of the failsafe ham/chicken anecdote." Awesome.
I, too, thought the uterusX2 chick looked like Ruthie from 'Real World: Hawaii', perhaps crossed with Michelle Kwan. Don't know why people are complaining about this recap, because a lot of what was stated was EXACTLY what was going through my mind at the time. Cynicism and sarcasm is the lifeblood of tvgasm. And m_ruv is right: although I love GA, the storyline themes are getting repetitive, and sometimes, unrealistic. But I'll still continue to watch.

I don't know what some of you guys are smoking, but m_ruv is the BEST and I would hate it if anyone else was recapping this show. Who cares if he doesn't like everyone (cause God knows some of these characters are VERY annoying) and who cares if the recap is a few days late? It is soooooo worth waiting for.
I agree this was not the best recap he has ever done, but maybe the source material was not as great. After all, to go from the previous week's story about a penis piercing stuck to an IUD to this week's story about ham and eggs - the jokes are a little harder to come by.
Keep up the great work, m_ruv! If I met you in a bar in Seattle, I'd get drunk on tequila and take you home!
