Newsgasm: Man of La Mancha Edition -
by m_ruv

- Michael Douglas has apologized to Brangelina, saying that his earlier tirade against them in GQ was misquoted. Okay great, but what I want to know is when did Michael Douglas start looking like DON QUIXOTE. Although I must admit Catherine Zeta-Jones would make a great Dulcinea. [Extra, Defamer]
- Speaking of chivalric romance, let's all shed a tear and wave it goodbye: Bow Wow (formerly Lil') and Ciara have split up. [AP]
- Newly-bred Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have named their son Moses. Does this mean we have to start calling Mr. Martin and Ms. Paltrow "Amram and Jochebed"? Cause I'm not doing that. [BBC]
- Fans of inanity and the lowest common denominator in general will be pleased to learn that Matt Lauer has extended his Today show contract through 2011. [AP]
- And ABC has decided to offer episodes of Lost, Desperate Housewives, Commander in Chief, and Alias free online, though you'll have to deal with ads. Great, now that I just finished spending THIRTY DOLLARS on Lost episodes at the iTunes store. [AP]

small rant...I have no problem w/ Michael Douglas stating his opinion. What I do have a problem w/ is this continual portrayel that adopted children are not someones' real kids. This is in the same vein as that twat Jessica Simpson saying she wants to adopt b/f having "children of her own". Adopted children ARE your own. (Sorry, good friend going through this process as we speak) /rant
I had no idea Ciara was dating that guy...is there a big age difference there? I was thinking he was like 13 yrs old or something...
WTF Gwyneth, Moses???
Not a fan of Matt Lauer...I welcome the use of the word inanity, especially when its justified:)

I really don't think Ciara & Bow Wow splitting up is worthy of this and of homepage headlines on yahoo. That's ridiculous. Them being pregnant? Maybe, since Bow Wow is barely a teen... no?

Thank you Stacy, I was thinking the same thing.

According to the article Bow Wow is 19 and Ciara is 20, which is not a big age difference so it's not even titillating let alone worthy of a headline.
Apple and Moses. Geez, Gwenyth, the kids already have targets because their Mom is a celebrity but did you have to make the targets bigger?
Michael Douglas probably wasn't misquoted. You know, it's just the memory is not that great when you're as old as dirt.

My wife's friend also named her son Moses a couple years ago. I foresee many playground beatings in his future. The good news is that he can part the traffic on the West Side Highway.
Maybe life is different for the children of the very famous, but all kids want is to fit in and not stand out, so why give them these wacky names . . . to show how creative they are?

At least Moses has long been a real name instead of just a common noun.

Agreed- Moses is better than Apple but it all just smacks of typical Gwenneth- doing stuff to show the world how superior she is to other Americans with her higher intellectualism.

At least his name is not Banjo, or Pilot Inspektor.
Thank VH1, they had a show about celebs that give their babies dumb names.

Moses Martin is a dumb name. It sounds like a blues player, or a boxer. I don't think he'll get picked on as much as say...a POOR kid named Moses. He can buy his classmates soymilks and organic vegetables.

"At least his name is not Banjo, or Pilot Inspektor." Thank you Vasha..that was HILARIOUS!
Gwyneth..or Gwynth..is wan and boring..
as for Michael Douglas..insanity is hereditary in that family, or outsized ego ..he'll be passing the torch to his son pretty soon. Why not tell Brad to his face what he thinks, not that Brad would do anything about it..
