I am so proud of LC, she stuck up for herself so well. She was so mature and Jason tried to pull the same crap on LC that he did on Jessica but she was not having it. I love LC more now than ever. I was actually pondering this show as I fell asleep last night...could this whole Jessica drama have been arranged by the producers? The girls *happen* to be discussing whether Jessica is over Jason yet in the patio and BMW SUV scene, then all of this sh*t goes down. I know Jason does some inexplicable things, but this just seemed so weird, especially since he is so "obsessed" with LC. And B-side, you didn't mention that Jason and Jessica appeared to go downstairs (or upstairs, whatever) together...was this more than a kiss?!?! :O Either way, we know that LC and Jason will work it out...since we all search endlessly for Laguna gossip on the Internet!

Another one of my favorite parts of this show is when Kristen is driving and her eyes are all over the place, everywhere except THE ROAD! :D

I am proud of LC also. It is about time one of the Laguna girls called Jason out. What a creep! LC saw him pull Jess into the kiss and he is going to say she forced him? Didn't he also tell Alex that Jess made him kiss her? Jessica is pathetic and Jason is such an a**hole!

I also was laughing my ass off when the girls were getting ready and discussing Lc and Jason (right before jessica had a freak attack about talan singing) and Jessica said " she must like getting hurt" I was like, you dumb hypocrticcal biatch! Okay, I used to hold on to some hope that Jessica would eventually grow out of herself and become what she has the potential to become. All of them were drunk during this episode.

Firstly, I must say Trey is actually the only respectable human being on the show. He's home from college, what, like two weeks? And he's already put together a benefit for people who lost their homes in the landslide. That's more than everyone else on the show combined has done for society all season. And plus, Trey was the only one who went to college and actually, you know, STAYED at college. Unlike some others, he wasn't dropping out (cough, LC) or running back to Laguna every weekend (cough cough Stephen, you pussy/camera-whore).

Also, there was a blink and you miss it Cammi appearance, she was at the benefit. I love me some Cammi.

Talan's big debut, come on, we all knew it was going to be terrible. And hey Talan, some may be dead in Hollywood, but thanks to you, music is now dead in Laguna.

Really, other than that, I don't rally have anything bad to say about this episode (surprising, I know). It was pretty amusing, and I have to say, probably the best of the season. It's amazing, but the producers have finally managed to cut and paste moments to make an amusing 20 minutes of television.

Also, I just have to mention how ridiculous Jason's screaming 'JEFFFFF' was, it was such an insane moment.

I agree about Trey. He is great. He was this way last season and he came back this season to help more people. And LC is always there helping whenever she can. Also though, even though no one seems to know this Dieter has his own charity with Trey and LC called Running Home For Teens. Last year it raised $11k to raise awareness about teen suicide. This year his goal is $50k and most of the Laguna Beach cast is supporting him.

So where did this Heidi come from, and why are she and LC suddenly like BFF? I think she's cute. Also, Jessica seemed so so wasted in this episode...and Polster IS hot.

2 things i was sad about no mention of in this recap:

1. did anyone catch the crazy bird noises in the "roundtable"? i had to check my house to make sure there weren't birds there.

2. why is kristin kissing lc's sidekick? and who is this heidi chick? she is a cheap replacement for lo, the best laguna person ever.

these kids booze more than i ever did/do - and mtv edits it all out. brilliant.

lastly, there is supposed to be a third season. who's going to be the narrator? cami?

Talan totally sucked, I just wonder how many people boost his confidence and tell him he is awesome. Poor guy, he needs some honest people in his life and not ass kissers.

They're high! I swear they were all drunk or stoned. They were acting like such hyper freaks during Talan's suck-ass performance and the spaztic fashion show. And I know J-Wahl is always an eloquent gentleman, but he was definately on top of his game. I've never heard him talk so much and he was all over Jessica. At the touching scene when he looks teary, his pupils are dialated and his eyes are all red. Time to quench the munchies.

Even though i was sure this was gonna happen..i did notice that Jason talks to LC very differently than to the other girls he played. I really do think that even though he's an idiot, he does have a soft spot for her. i guess that is why they are together at present (if they are).

Jason's eyes spoke volumes in last night's epi... he was definately on something. He seemed lost at times and even the way he walked was a bit odd.

I think LC should be happy but in order to do so, she's going to have to move on from Jason.

OH the miracle of reality tv editing!! What an awesome episode!!! Yeah, I too was hoping Jessica was finally outgrowing her pathetic Jason's door-mat phase, unfortunately that was not the case. You could just see her beaming everytime he acknowledged her this episode. It's so sad really. Someday she will look back on this episode and cringe. You're lying if you say you've never been in her shoes at some point in your life. Maybe not the exact situation, but we all did stupid, naive stuff when we were young. I sure hope having her 15 minutes of fame is worth the embarassment of having her most awkward years on television. I can't help but feel sorry for her.

Ok...that was the best episode ever! First of all, I think Lauren is an idiot and should have known that she was getting involved with a "playa". Second of all, I dont think Jessica is pathetic at all. Weve all been there...the ex boyfriend is flirting it up with you and you are still attracted to him....im sure that is what happened with them. LC was a soldier last night. She managed to do something none of the other girls in the LC have the ovaries to do... She called a BRO out on his BS and didn't break stride for too long - she finished her job and got out of there with her head on her shoulders.

LC is right..She shouldn't be dating a high school boy. Perhaps the show's producers could hook her up with a nice college frat boy..Like maybe..Tommy Lee.

I'm not saying these people don't have money, but keep this in mind:

1) Someone said on another message board that insurance covers that kind of disaster because they chose to build their homes on a tenuous area.

2) I think when things happen locally, its sometimes hits home more and mobilizes people. I don't fault them for trying to help. Even though many of these people have money, Laguna is an old community. It used to be mainly artists who may have bought their homes long before the huge housing boom in CA, which have increased the costs of living/rebuilding tremendously.

3) tons of people are helping those who suffered from the tsunami (and rightfully so), but I doubt anyone was doing anything to help people in Laguna Beach. I'm sure the dollars helped someone. Also, didn't someone say that some of the homes in that area were trailer homes? I'm guessing those people aren't exactly in LC's tax bracket.

Wow. Great episode and great recap! Jason is a schmuck. All my sympathy for Jessica was just thrown out the window with this episode. Greatest episode yet! I agree with #86, these kids were definitely on something. Jason isn't that stupid to pull a stunt like that with LC right there. That episode was so good that it almost had a dream-like quality. And a Trey appearance? I mean, what more could a true LB fan ask for? Jessica is so sad. Jason has her so sprung, it's not even funny. My favorite was when Dieter was like "Hold it, Hold it!" when LC was going to lose it and play herself and cry in front of everyone. That was beautiful. Jessica should have held on to him, instead of running behind Jason. Deet gets made fun of a lot, but he is a true friend, and I give him mad respect for having LC's back. Meanwhile, her friend Jen, the ultimate hater, had the nerve to tell LC she was being a bitch.

That episode was just the best-can't wait to watch it again!

Ok first of all, LC is still with Jason which makes no sense to me. If I saw my boyfriend kiss his ex, there is no way in HELL I would date him now or in the future! Definitely proud of the way LC handled herself, but just knowing that she's with him now makes it not even worth it.

i was so happy to see the recap posted already when i came into work this am. i live for this. i cant believe lc stood up to jason. i think he realizes that he really screwed up this time, and that lc is not like jessica or alex, she means business! i cant wait for next week.

this episode HAD to have been created. Is there really anyway that someone is that STUPID? jason, knowing that LC was within a close distance of him, would even chance kissing another girl and pulling her on his lap? I mean, I know he's an idiot, but c'mon. even when he hated Jessica, he still had enough class not to do anything in front of her with other girls. heck, he didn't even kiss alex when she asked him to the dance and Jessica wasn't even there. The only way, this could've truly happened is if Jason were drunk. Which if you look at his eyes and behavior throughout the episode, would not be too far fetched. Anyway, Jessica's just as bad for not having respect for a relationship and turning him down. It probably would've actually worked in her favor and he may have ended up wanting her more!

I have indeed felt that way - but, being older, wiser, and having been on both sides of being attacked by an angered girlfriend, and wanting to attack as one, I have learned that yelling/being bitchy/taking out your anger on the other girl for what your boyfriend has done that has upset you is counterproductive, embarassing, and, most of all, immature. And I do think she was drunk - she was slurring and acting like a moron.

PK - normally I'd agree, but in this case, I think LC's jumping on Jessica was warranted, since A) Jessica knew Jason and LC were dating, and B) Jessica knew LC was there. Had she not known any of this, she could have gotten a pass, but with things as they were, Jessica was just as guilty of metaphorically pissing on LC as Jason was.

Hey guys! Did any of you notice the microphone that dipped into the shot when Jason dragged LC out from the curtained off area? I think that the drama on this episode was actually real because obviously the film crew had to hurridly get the sound clip in...they didn't even care that part of the equipment got in the way.

I don't think LC was yelling at Jessica. It started with LC giving her directions for the fashion show, totally legit, and Jessica, being drunk, was acting totally beligerant. And didn't you hear at the end when LC said to Dieter, "Did you just yell at Jessica? Cuz it was all Jason." She wasn't drunk, certainly not compared to the rest of the lot, and was being pretty gracious considering the circumstances. Give the girl a break, she hasn't even been out of high school a year and I think she handles herself quite well amidst all the drama. They're all just kids, acting like kids. They were all hopped up on something at the show, I thought Jason was going to fall out of his seat with Talan was making a mangled mess out of some poor innocent musical notes. The truth about J Wahl is he is a complete a**hole, but is hot. So the story goes anyone willing to play with fire has to be ready to get burned. I just liked seeing him pout at the end. Also, I do agree that the Guna kids were wasted during the whole show - I mean come on, that's the most emotion we have EVER seen from J. Wahl. There had to be some foreign substance in his body to make him act like a human and put together complete sentences (Like the classic: "As gross as it sounds, I'm obsessed with you") I will say LC did not look intoxicated. However I do think she got what she deserved with Jason. Jessica is sad but God only knows what Jason is saying to her. First time poster, but avid reader.

I have to say that although LC is my favorite on the show, she is not so innocent as they make her seem. She knew what she was getting into, but didn't care. I was glad she reacted the way she did, cause it showed class. But we will never know exactly what the deal was w/ her and Ste- phen, while he was dating Kristen.

Secondly, Jason was definately on something, and it wasn't just booze. I wan't to say by how he was acting it was something even harder then pot, but since I wasn't there, I don't know for sure. Jessica is not as niave as everyone thinks. She definately knows what she is doing and doesn't care. And she was definately on something too.

I love LC!!! The triangle with LC, Stephen, and Kristin was a bit different and Kristin even admits it in Season 2. At the Fiesta, Kristin said she had broken up with Stephen, but then started liking Stephen again when she found out about him and Lauren. Kristin admitted only wanting him back b/c someone else wanted him. Also, Kristin and Stephen were breaking up every other day.

The LC, Jason, and Jess scenario is different b/c Jess knows they are/were together and didn't wait for there to be a "break" before she inserts herself.

Jess is so skandalous, and not because she's so damn needy, but b/c her lies are weak. If she's gonna play the game, she better play for the win, not sloppy seconds.

Hey Guac, it is real and if you switch back and forth to Jason's myspace, they are arguing over something that happened last night at LO's. She suposedly had a party and LC got pissed at something and rim Jessica a new a-hole. It's funny, just go back and forth.

That myspace is not real but Jessica actually does have a myspace page, and so do a couple of other people from the show. If u do a little bit of research into it u can tell easily which pages are real and which pages are fake. Her real page has been posted on here before. Alex aka Roz also has a xanga, and u can tell it's real cuz she posts new pics on there every week, and all of the information that she puts in there is stuff that comes up before the magazines, newspapers, etc even gets ahold of it, like her moving out with kristin...she posted that she was going to move out from her apartment with kristin a while ago, and about 2 weeks later it showed up in a newspaper. So not all of it is fake.

LB is very similar to my experience in high school(except on a budget). We had bonfires (just not at the ocean). All the girls had the same names (just not Alex or Morgan). We all dated the same boys. We were all friends one week, enemies the next and friends again the next. And, unfortunately, most of us have been where Jessica is with Jason. (I'll just tell myself I handled it better).

I certainly don't recall ever doing anything philanthropic when I was in high school (or certainly not anything I planned by myself or with my friends) so I think it's great that these kids have done something (even if it included Talan singing or Cedric prancing in the near-nake). And MTV may help make it happen but I think Trey, for one, was so inclined without MTV's involvement.

I absolutely think Jason was x-ing or doing whatever the trendy upper is these days. He seemed more coordinated than if he had been drinking. And he absolutely seemed to be jonesing for Jessica.

I feel sorry for Jessica because she is just flipped inside out over Jason. I am sure she dies a slow death each time she sees how pathetic she is. I definitely hope she's gotten a little self respect since she graduated.

Whatever Jason did to win LC back probably came undone after last night. Unless he REALLY came clean, that will certainly be "round 2" of that fight.

I can't wait to watch this episode again to pick up on all the things I missed - like Kristen having Ced's pink panties.

Seriously, you know how many times I have seen the same pictures over and over again. People are just cutting and pasting them. And just because you write-"Jessica's-dont steal" on a paint program doesn't mean they are real. I could do that myself and pose as her if i really wanted to. Ugh, it is so annoying!

I don't know what everyone likes lo so much for. As for Jessica's myspace page, the way I know it is real is cuz on the page she has a lot of nobodys from Laguna Beach and her little sister is also on her friend's list. A couple of the nobody's are people who were briefly on the show such as Sarah (the one who had the prom party at her house) and Emily, people like that that a fake would probably not take the time to add. She also mentions nothing about Jason and has no comments from Jason, which would make sense being that she stated in an interview that she never wants to speak to Jason again. She also updates her pictures frequently.

I've seen a few of their real MySpace pages - one tip off as to whether it's a real account is if Carrot Top (aka Jeff) has posted a comment telling them to delete all the fakes. LOL!

It's obvious that all of these kids are raging alcoholics, and as for weed being their drug of choice, i'm pretty sure that's the case. Stephen in particular being that there's a beautiful picture floating around of him hitting a big bong. I'm positive Jason does it as well so it would make since that Jessica his psychotic stalker would do it just for his acceptance.

The only one that I know of that coke is their drug of choice would be lo. There was a rumor at one point in time that she was into that...to be honest with u i wouldn't put it past her, she seems like the kind that would be into that.

Everyone keeps talking about how LC should have known what she was getting involved with. How do we really know she knew anything about him and his playa tendencies? No one said ya know he's not good for you or be careful, that we know of. Even Dieter, the almight protector, said something to Ste~PHEN, but not LC.

I don't think what Jessica is doing compares to the LC/Stephen/Kristin thing. I think Jason and Stephen are the instigators in both scenarios more so than any of the girls. As we saw this season-and last season for that matter-Stephen would take LC out one week, and then Kristin out the next. Look at what he did on Valentine's Day and then also when the San Fran trip didn't work out. Same thing with Jason. He tells LC "I love LC" but then he gives Jessic hope by putting her on his lap, telling her he cares about here, kissing her. And just like Stephen when Dieter blew up his spot about the two Valentine's Day drive by's, Jason got his spot blown up by Lauren even worse because she saw the flirting and kissing right in front of her face. Now coming off how Stephen played her, then to have Jason do it a few months later, I mean, that's a lot of hurt and humiliation for anyone to endure. All the LC haters, give her a break!

There is still plenty of hope for LC and Jason's relationship, which I consider a beautiful thing.

It's obvious what is going on with Jason. Having fallen by some miracle into a relationship with a chick who is much cooler and more desirable than he is (keeping in mind that while he was an underclassman, she was the queen of the school that was doubtless deemed unattainable perfection by most of the younger guys), he is insecure about keeping her. He admits that he loves her, but this is new territory because he's always considered girls worthless playthings before.

And when you look at who he dated, you can see why. Jessica's only positive feature is her rack and willingness to debase herself fully, the allure of which is no match for her being a total psycho. Alex M was a step up, but she too was a dishrag. LC is actually quality goods, and J Wahl is insecure about keeping her. He's afraid of suddenly being out of control in the first relationship that matters.

So what does he do to express this insecurity? Something that a lot of immature people do: get wasted (I'd love to know what they were all on, because it looked like fun) in order to pretend lack of responsibility for your actions, and flirt with the boundary line of the relationship to make the other person feel insecure.

Except that LC put him in his place and will keep him there until he grovels suitably. But we don't know what power dynamic might have been going on before, to produce Jwahl's reaction. Has she been keeping an emotional distance that he has not? Anyway, I think it's lovely that they eventually work it out, and I hope it lasts. They're adorable together.

On some interview or website (I've been to so many LB sites I can't remember which one!) I thought I heard Kristin say that she hooked up with Jason (meaning that they kissed/made out). Has anyone else heard this?

Oh man, this episode totally made up for last week's snooze-fest. Jessica is a sad, sad girl, and put a bra on, please. Those babies need some support. LC kicks ass, and Dieter is all of a sudden quite sexy (and not so puffy), love the take charge attitude. Wow high school has changed since I graduated back in 2000. I knew kids like had sex, but I personally don't remember this much drama. Maybe that's because I stayed away from as much drama as possible. But the only drug I remember kids doing were weed and that's it. All the other stuff I never remember hearing people be so into. MTV has picked up its sort of-unscripted series "Laguna Beach" for a third season, and the team behind the show is setting its sights on a different seaside locate -- Miami's South Beach a whole different show -- as well.

The continuing adventures of me, Lauren, Stephen and the rest of the telegenic kids from the wealthy Orange County enclave will be chronicled in a new season debuting sometime next year (the current season of "Laguna Beach" runs through mid-November). The show has become something of a phenomenon this year, grabbing about 3 million viewers per week and generating a wave of press coverage. You will still see the old cast just for alittle but u will mostly see the new cast of Laguna Beach only time you would see the old cast is when we go back to Laguna so keep a close watch for us we will be in some clips but that mostly it though

CHARACTERS ON SEASON 3

The new cast-Cami, Cami's friend Kyndra, Candace (cedrics prom date and sam's winter formal date) Breanna (lc's little sister) and 2 of her friends, and these guys Chase and Kelan who are in a band and their friend Cameron

Why are there 50 posts of people saying "am I the only one who noticed..."? um, there are tons of posts mentioning the drinking/drugs, so obviously none of you are the "only one" to think that. Sheesh.

OK..to clarify why the kids did a benefit for the landslide victims...
Landslides are NOT covered by a typical homeowners insurance policy. Mudslides are caused by flooding and therefore covered by flood insurance. Landslides are caused by sinkholes...so you have to purchase a separate policy for landslides. Landslide insurance is about 40 cents/$100 of house value. So figure at least $1,000,000 for the typical Laguna house...therefore $4000/year for Landslide insurance. Since landslides are pretty rare, most of the people affected by the Laguna landslides had NO landslide insurance...therefore they literally lost everything.

I never said I didn't like B-sides recaps, I'm just saying the last couple weeks haven't been that great. In the past he has been funnier. I don't get why a few people are getting so pissed at that. There are some repeat jokes that aren't working at this point, and some of the things could have that ba dum ching! sound after them. Like a corny joke. All I'm saying is step it up again.

Jason and Jessica were both obviously drunk at the fashion show. That's why LC was talking to Jessica like a child, and saying things like, "If she falls down, it's her own fault." Plus, right before the kiss, Jessica was slurring her words big time.

If you google Jason you will get a link to his high school baseball stats. The interesting thing is, once you figure out how to get around the site and pull up the rest of Laguna's baseball team-you will notice that Jason's stats end in March. The other players' stats go through May. So- either he quit baseball, got kicked off, or quit high school completely. I bet he quit high school. Oh- and isn't Jeff's last name Bolin? If it is, he too was on the baseball team.

I just have to tell you that that was the FUNNIEST thing I've read in so long.

I've heard that before, but you see in their yearbook that the names they have on the show are the names under their picture. So unless all of them changed their names legally for the sake of the show...my guess would be that they are real.

I watched the clip on mtv.com and you're not really missing much. It's a "typical" conversation between Jess and Jason and when she asks him how lauren is he says, "We're working things out." Jess replies with something like, "I can't believe something so small could..." Jason goes on to say that she kissed him to which she fires back something about it being all him. It was very random and exactly what you would expect the conversation to be like between them.

From the Orange County register in August, reporting on moving some temporary trailers to areas where the landslide happened:

"One source for that money could be MTV's "Fight the Slide" benefit Thursday at 7 Degrees. All proceeds from the sold-out benefit, which is being held in conjunction with the filming of an episode of MTV's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" go to slide victims."

So how "REAL" is Laguna Beach when they set up stuff?
Not very, at times, I'm afraid to say.
We now know that they really put together this charity event, not the kids.
And J-Wahl was quoted in a story that the MTV crew would tell him where he's going and what he's going to talk about and that's why he comes across as DUH on camera because he didn't like doing that. [Though I think it's more than that for our poor gigolo.]

I guess it doesn't really matter how much MTV is involved, since Fight the Slide gave us the GREATEST EPISODE EVER or "GEE" as I like to call it.

It's old news that mtv sets up scenarios for the cast but as far as their interactions go and things like that it's real. For example, mtv didn't set up jessica and jason getting wasted and then fondling each other...that was all them. They may set up the scenarios, but the drama seems to be real.

Reality show aids landslide victims
MTV's 'Laguna Beach' cast stages benefit event with television cameras rolling.

It was lights, cameras and action as the cast of MTV's "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" rallied at their Fight the Slide benefit for the Bluebird Canyon landslide victims last Thursday night at Seven Degrees.

The event was taped for a future broadcast of the reality drama.

Three hundred eighty-eight people attended the sold-out event, which raised more than $23,000, according to Mayor Elizabeth Pearson-Schneider.

MTV's cameras, crew and executives were everywhere, as they followed the cast filming for an upcoming episode of the show.

Going behind the scenes, having access to the cast and executives, and being part of the show was a treat for me, thanks to MTV's Vanessa Reyes.

Stephen Colletti was exuberant as he greeted his guests with hugs and welcomed them to the live-action event.

"This is hard; it's such a sensitive subject, but we're trying to turn it into something good by helping the victims," Colletti said. "Hopefully everyone will walk out with a smile. We're stoked we can use our connections. Many people will be donating money that will help everyone who is a landslide victim."

Young girls swarmed around lead cast member Kristin Cavalleri, clamoring for an autograph.

Cavalleri admitted she was a little nervous for the fashion show that would come later in the evening.

"I think it's going to be really, really good and will go really well; I'm excited about it," Cavalleri said. "I'm glad we're doing something for people who lost so much. I'm so happy to be a part of it."

Cavalleri said Trey Phillips had the idea to have the benefit with a fashion show. He formed the group Active Young Americans, and also has his own line of hats.

"I think it just shows how close the community is to put away our differences and do something amazing for this cause," Cavalleri said.

Before the fashion show, coordinators Lauren Conrad and Phillips were diligently working together.

The two stopped what they were doing to talk. Midway through our interview, the cameras rolled in and MTV shot part of the interview.

"Mostly Trey came up with the concept -- he was the first person to ask who was raising money; he wanted to do something, and it just went from there," Conrad said.

Items for the silent and live auctions, the raffle, the fashion show and the venue were all donated.

"I'm ecstatic; it feels good; it's just flowing," Phillips said as the venue began to fill up with people. "There will always be kinks, but it will be a good show all the way through."

The Bluebird Canyon disaster was personal for the cast.

Cast members Stephen Colletti and Dieter Schmitz were right in the midst of the tragedy, since their families both live in the area.

"They got evacuated and came to my house," Conrad said.

During the event, Schmitz, Colletti and Phillips showed a documentary they had made of the landslide aftermath. Poignant interviews with the families and footage of the ravaging damage brought tears to everyone's eyes.

Landslide victims were invited to the event at no charge.

After the documentary, Pearson-Schneider asked the families to come up on stage.

"Fight the Slide concept is not a one time issue; it's not going to make everything better," Phillips said. "We need to continue to fight this together."

Adam DiVello, development executive and co-executive producer for the show, flew in from New York City for the event. He said he wishes he lived in Laguna Beach.

DiVello said it was the cast's idea to have a benefit for the landslide victims.

"The kids came to us -- Stephen, Dieter and Trey; they were affected by this immensely," DiVello said. "It's rare that a group of kids this young would get so involved and take on something like this. I feel fortunate I got to know these kids."

DiVello said helping the landslide victims needs to continue; he hopes the MTV benefit serves as an motivator.

"I hope the community continues to keep them in mind," DiVello said.

Fellow co-executive producer Kathryn Takis was equally impressed by the cast's efforts.

"The kids' heart and soul are in this community; as soon as the landslide happened, they wanted to do something," Takis said. "They're devoted to the community.... This is their doing; we just guided them. All of them should feel so proud."

She said Laguna Beach is synonymous with community.

"All of us walk away with Laguna Beach's sense of community, how generous everyone is -- and the kids are a reflection of that," Takis said. "I feel really honored to work with them; it's really a joy. That's a lot to say about 14- to 18-year-olds."

Cast members Alex Murrel's and Talan Torriero's bands were part of the entertainment, along with Just Jinger, the Jamie Paxton Band and Listen Band.

Pearson-Schneider was also an integral part of the event, giving a moving speech and even participating in the fashion show, which was a huge hit and the highlight of the evening.

"Four thousand five hundred dollars will go to the Laguna Relief and Resource Center and the rest will go to the Adopt a Landslide Family campaign," Pearson-Schneider said.

Pearson-Schneider thinks that MTV airing a segment of the benefit is invaluable to the landslide cause.

"The cast is going to be creating a pitch to the viewers to send money to the Adopt a Landslide Family campaign at the end of the show," the mayor said. "It's a huge opportunity -- they will be able to raise a lot of money."

MTV is also adding information on the show's website for donations.

The show will likely air in September, according to MTV.

Hate 'em if you want, but Jessica and Jason and their drama have become the stars of this season. It's awesome!!

What a great recap. This was exactly my reaction to this-- to the thought:

Kristin's little opening voiceover eventually came to an end as she said, "We were just hoping we could get through one night without drama." We then cut to Jessica. That was the producers's way of saying, "That night without drama? Yeah, that's not going to happen."

The bottom line with LC…she is a very classy lady! She may not have asserted herself with Stephen, but boy has she learned from those past experiences. The way she has handled herself in basically every episode she has been featured in, has been very commendable. In a nutshell, LC has had to endure a lot of crap along the way (both last and this season) and has always risen above all of the stupidity and childish behavior. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, she is the one shining star in that oftentimes narcissistic community! As long as she stays true to herself, which she seems to be doing, she’ll ultimately come out on top!
