I am going to watch season three for one reason and one reason only-- so that I can have an excuse to continue being a B-side junky (I know he does other shows but ripping on LB with sarcasm and a hint of love-- well, it's truly an art).

Yes-- you are right, Leelee is TOTALLY an anorexic Helen Hunt. When I first saw the kid's picture I was like What The Heck Happened to Helen Hunt??? Seriously. Then I realized she was a whole other person. (or so they say... lol)

Okay so, I have scoop on the gunas. They came into RI this weekend and were at the local mall and went bowling wih a group of winners from a local radio station and did a few other things. here is the scoop from a girl I work with that won to be part of the bowling party. Deiter and Jessica were kissing the whole time. Deiter was an asshole and didnt talk to anyone, Alex M got her schedual "mixed up" and didnt even come.Roz just sat there and didnt really talk to anyone, and Trey was really funny and cool. Jesica was the most fun hugging everyone and talking to everyone. She said that most of the time when they are on the phone (like when Jason called her to break up) they are really talking to the producers and are being told what to say and that alot of the situations athey are put in are fake. My friend has pictures coming to I"ll post them when she gets them back.

Everyone says how young the cast looks, I'm sure it's because the cameras will follow them for a few years up to graduation so they can build a rapport with the audience, only yeah, I don't think I'll be watching season 3. Actually, this recap has helped the LB season 3 look more interesting. The girls look really old. I can only immagine the in-fighting thats going to go on next season. Girls like that scared me in HS (thank God there weren't that many of them) but what is it with the girls in hs that look late twenties early thirties? Its kind of wierd. And especially with personalities and lifestyles to pretty much match? Ugh. This season might be pretty good.

I already miss the Laguna Beach of yester-year when EVERYONE was White & Episcopalian.

Oh yes. I think it is important that every time Cami is mentioned or seen we take note that she is not ALL white. that is important because as long as we can make that distinction we can hope that the all white kids get together and shun her or something. How about a burning cross graphic in the background the next time there is a photo of Cami. Isn't it great when we can keep up the hate.

I mean, evertime Cami is mentioned lets take note that she is not all white and how we should boycott the 3rd season if she is going to be in the lead and that she is obviously ugly (read: not all white). Apparently MTV got reemed for not having any minorities on their show. Really thats the only explanation for Cami...who wants to see a rolly polly body, 12 inches of exposed hairline when we could be looking at LC?? Why couldn't they find someone that looks like Lucy Lui or Beyonce...all the white kids are good looking, you'd think the minority kids would be hott too. That girl is NOT attractive, not even a little bit.

Not all the white kids are good looking so why hate Cami. Beyonce had her nose done to look more European, and Lucy Lui is also a token. MTV didn't necessarily catch flack. They have black people on their other shows. So I don't think that is the ONLY EXPLANATION for Cami.

I think the explanation should be - she's a kid at LB high school like every other kid on the show. Saying that she shouldn't be there because she's black is racist.

The ethnicity talk has finally bored me and the abercrombie models are why I won't allow myself to be a high school teacher - I may have to watch LB3 just to see them and to find out once and for all if LC and Jason get back together. Tokenism is a form of racism. At the very least, it amounts to judging someone only on the color of their skin, not the content of their character.

I have no idea if Cami is being put on the show as a token minority, but if she is, it is pretty sad for her, for Laguna and for MTV.

After recieving multitudes of negative emails and phone calls, MTV and the producers of the hit show "Laguna Beach" have decided to shelf the third installment of the hit show. The project is not dead however, it is being put on hold while people involved decide whether they should move forward or cancel the program.

After two wildly successful seasons, all of the characters that fans fell in love with have moved on and the new cast is not testing well with audiences. MTV released the following statement on the matter, "We feel that we just need to look at the direction the show is heading and figure out if it is a good thing, or if we should go out on top and concentrate on pursuing avenues with the already established characters". 'Laguna' fans will be happy to know that "The Hills", the first spinoff series of 'Laguna', is moving ahead as scheduled.

Producers also hinted that other spinoff series' may be in the lineup for next spring. "Besides Lauren, a couple other cast members are doing extremely interesting things that would translate well to television. Things that would show these young people for more of who they really are."

I don't think they will shelve season 3. But I have to admit I'm a little surprised the extent- although the boards have given me a good indication- that people are not "comfortable" having Cami (a clearly non all white person) in the lead, or on the show significantly at all.

And to the someone who posted that she was a B-. Well, the other girls on the show have clearly, with all their screen time, not been angels either. Bottom line she's a person, a girl like everyone else. I know her "ethnicity" would seem to contradict that for some people, but that isn't Cami's problem. And its a shame that this young girl can't just be seen like any other girl in her town. That is the tragedy. Im not boycotting next seaon, and even if i was it would have nothing to do with Cami's ethnicity. If you had a sense of humor, Ann, you would see that B-side is actually making fun of MTV for NOT featuring minorities in the past seasons and now, only adding one person who is not white. Beach Scoop You Won't Believe: Korbi here. And, you should know, I've long considered myself to be a champion of quality shows like 24, Gilmore Girls or Arrested Development. But lately, I've been in grave danger of ruining that reputation, for I've developed a full-on addiction for a little show that may or may not have the word Laguna in its title.

Okay, fine. I'll say it. My name is Korbi, and I'm a Laguna-holic.

Whom can I name? Jessica, Alex M. and Alex H., for starters. Sources tell me that although MTV's season-three preview focused a whole new crew of Laguna kids, those three ladies are definitely returning. Of course, MTV also desperately wants Stephen and Kristin. However, Stephen's busy trying to jump-start his acting career (and a relationship with a girl in his acting class), and Kristin is also hesitating, given her fancy new role in that Al Pacino flick. Not to mention the fact that, according to sources, her friendships with the Laguna gang are rapidly dissolving.

As of two weeks ago, Kristin and Alex H. were sharing an apartment, but Alex H. left to move into another posh L.A. building with Alex M. It's a building that happens to be one of Kristin's dad's developments. Show insiders tell me their relationship soured because Kristin insisted that everything be about her, expecting Alex to be on call. The last straw went down at a San Diego event for Dieter's charity, when Alex refused to drive Kristin back to L.A. early for an audition.

Meanwhile, Talan Torriero is working on a CD and a film, not to mention getting engaged to Kimberly Stewart, getting into car wrecks with Paris Hilton and partying with Ryan Cabrera (they're good friends).

Stephen is sharing a downtown L.A. apartment with Dieter and Jason. They aren't in school right now, but while Stephen has acting classes, and Dieter has his charity, I'm told Jason's concentrating on cleaning up his act, though it doesn't seem to be happening. Says a source who works with the Laguna Beach crew, "Promoters are constantly calling them and sending them to different L.A. clubs every night of the week. Jason is always getting kicked out of clubs for getting into fights...He's wrecked a lot of cars, too. That's why you always see him driving different ones on the show." Same goes for Stephen. Word has it that last week he crashed a brand-new car the very same day he bought it!

Lauren, meanwhile, has cut ties with every other castmember except Jason, whom she's still dating. According to insiders, she and Kristin did make up months ago, but they're back to being enemies, maybe, I'm told, because they both hooked up with Stephen again over the summer.

Lauren's spinoff is supposedly similar to MTV's PoweR Girls, except that it follows her and friend Heidi (who is hated by all of Lauren's other friends) around Los Angeles. The spinoff is being called The Hills--as in the Hollywood Hills--and MTV plans to show the exterior of some random Hollywood Hills home as if it's really hers. The truth? She's living in an apartment by L.A. shopping complex the Grove!

As for Laguna's next installment, one well-connected spy says, "It isn't centered around a boy or a love triangle, like the last two seasons have been. It'll revolve around a couple of girls who can't stand another girl. One of the girls, who's in the 'we don't like you' group, is the chick Jason took to prom this year. Also, there are twins who actually moved to Laguna from Texas just to be on the show!"

Laguna Beach Blind: And now, the dirt so dirty, we can't name names...

Beach Boozers: According to one spy, these castmembers are "supposed go to events [to promote themselves], but if they even show up in time for the red carpet, they're too wasted to pose for pictures."

Beach Bum: This castmember has been in and out of rehab many times, which is also the reason he or she wasn't even around for the first season of the show.

Beach Baddie: This castmember got into a knock-down, drag-out fight with a castmember of the opposite sex, bashing his or her head against a wall.

I for one could give a shit whether Cami is black, white, purple, green, or whatever.
I don't like the fact that Cami is allegedly a lead because of the way the producers threw her in for 3 miliseconds last season (the prom, the mention of her being the one who told Alex M. she saw Jason and Jessica hooking up) and expected that to be enough of an introduction to base a whole season (as rumors suggest) around her. If they needed a new lead (which the obviously did) they should have featured her more prominently, or featured a younger girl who was good friends with this clique and featured her, LIKE THEY DID WITH KRISTIN in season one. That way, when you knew who the lead was in Season 3, you would have some feelings and at the very least an introduction to them.

I ALSO don't like the fact that LC's sister looks to be a lead (oh no, this must mean I hate white people, too). Or wait, perhaps I don't think it is in the producers best interest to create an alleged lead out of someone who happens to live in the same house as a former lead. Just because she lives with LC does not mean she is lead-worthy material. For that matter, she has been featured on the show even less than Cami.

Finally, I think the producers should have done a better job of intergrating these new LB stars into the mix this last season. When we entered season 2, we already knew Kristin, Alex H, Talan and had seen Jessica a few times. Now we are getting people we don't know at all. This would be like dropping Chandler and Monica from friends at the end of the 9th season and filming the final season with a couple we had never even laid eyes on before (and yes, I just used Friends to compare to LB, I suppose someone will have a problem with that too....)

I'm a life long resident of Laguna Beach. Please permit me to explain our (LB residents) views on race and ethnicity.

We like our community the way it is. We're not happy about MTV and this program about our community. We really don't want tourists and we definitely don't want minorities in Laguna! They ruin every city that they infiltrate. Look how they ruined Los Angeles and San Diego with their crime and their drugs. We don't even like to employ them as gardeners and maids as they may begin to infiltrate and live here.

The city leaders work with our police dept. to make sure they don't feel welcome. If a black or a mexican drives through Laguna, they will be stopped to be sure they don't intend to stop.

We don't want a season 3 or any more publicity. We like our community just the way it is.

I'm going to respect what B-side said. I don't know if Mr.Laguna is really a LB resident or what. But there it is. At least he's honest (?) Thanks for your post Mr. Laguna. Moving on...

My problem isn't really with the cast but with the way the show is going. When MTV decided to cast students from LBHS, some of the drama had started brewing. But now, as I read in an article online, the enrollment at LBHS has gone up because of students wanting to be on the show. Now it's turning into something different. It's just a bunch of kids now saying Look at me! I'm on Laguna Beach!

When they cast Season 1, Kristin and the gang didn't know if anyone would even watch the show. Now that it's a big hit, all these teeny bobbers are trying to get on camera. That's what I don't like about it...

Hey. I'm actually from Laguna Beach High School. I'm in the same grade as all of the ladies you're having such a wonderful time bashing. Just so you know, none of those pictures are flattering... "Mafia Wife" (whose name is actually Candace) is, like, drop-dead gorgeous in person. And so is Brianna (CHIN). Cami is prety nice. She's in my AP US History Class, and her grades are fine (which is a feat because our teacher talks about Gilmore Girls all the time). Every teenager gets drunk, so why don't you people chill. If you hate these "bitches" so much, then stop watching the show. Either way, I think the whole thing is ridiculous. Laguna Beach is an artsy community that cares about the environment and the hippies stand out on Main Beach every Sunday and picket against the war; this "rich brat" aspect is such a small part of what this place is really like. But... Whatever. Just thought you should know.

I for one am going to believe that Carly is from Laguna Beach and appreciate her insight. I also agree that about 75% of my friends in highschool drank, so its not incredibly outrageous that these kids drink all the time.

I saw the same article. I don't remember the website, but I'll try to find it. It might have that Ted Casablancas site or some link off of bricksandstones. I do a lot of Laguna beach searching all at one time (how sad--I make myself wait so I can look at a whole lot in one sitting) and I delete my history everyday, so I can't just go back and look.

I do remember it though, and it was word for word what you had written, so either you took it from them or they took it from you. The way they had it though, it was split up and had quotes and other information along with it.

About Cami, I don't like her she looks like a girl that I went to highscool with that was a real Bitch. I really don't like the idea of her being the lead.(if she really is) But I will watch the show anyway. I don't hate on her because she is a diffrent color then everyone else. I also think that most people don't hate her for her color, I think they hate her for the way she seemed those few times we saw her this year.

Im getting through the withdrawels by watching season one all over.. i figure by the time i get through all of that..season 2 will be out on dvd and then once i finish that...season 3 along with the hills will be somewhat close to starting...i think mtv might lose alot of viewers with this huge gap between seasons...its like a year long!

Unfortunately, in most upscale communities there are not alot of minorities, and when one does move into the neighborhood, its current residents worry that property values might come down. -WANT TO HAVE A NOTE ON THE WALL OF SUPPORT?

I didn’t know when it would happen. I didn’t know when I would get hit and realize exactly what I have to do on the 18th. Last year it happened the night before, I was at dinner with my close friends and realized……wow tomorrow is really going to suck. This year it happened today. It’s a feeling I can’t describe. I become overcome with one task, one thought, one obsession. Finishing. Nothing else matters anymore. For the next 21 days I am all about December 18th. In between trips I will live in the gym. I will cut off talks with practically everyone and anything that can deter me away from this goal. My life for the next 21 days is about sleeping, training, eating right and getting into the right mindset. The time is here for me, it’s scary as hell. But it’s here. I have 21 days. 21 days to prove to myself and the thousands of supporters that I have what it takes to finish this last step, in a journey that has changed my life, and saved many others.

It’s really weird to look back, to see how far I have come as a person and how I never would have predicted being in this spot 2 years ago in a million years. I keep working on my book making it more and more personal. I cannot wait to share it with you after I am done adding the last chapter once I finish my run. It is my heart and soul and to many of you will show you the amazing story of this charity and the lessons I have learned. Traveling over the last year has been amazing. There have been thousands of letters of support and thousands who have come out personally in each place to support my cause. I have been asked some intense questions. Many people have asked in several states how it is that kids from a reality show that portrays wealth, heartlessness, and such superficial things can turn around and lead a national campaign for suicidal and depressed teens. My answer is simple. I love the show for the chance it gave me and my friends. The show offers two possibilities. The possibility to use your exposure for something good that will make a difference far beyond the shows run, or the possibility to use your exposure to make some money and to get in some headlines in your 15 minutes. You have had a group of kids now, in which every single cast member from both seasons has put in time for the charity. Not because it offers exposure, or adds to their celebrity but because they legitimately care about doing something good with the insane support we have. Were it not for the show, and for everyone from it behind the charity this project would have been nearly impossible to get to the point it is at. It was a group effort from day one and the fact that we had 100% support from the start is amazing. A lot of people also don’t realize that MTV could have easily pulled the plug on the charity and us traveling around the country. A lot of times after and during the airing of a television show cast members aren’t allowed to do appearances. MTV, and more specifically the producers of Laguna Beach were great through out this time in letting us get the word out and to go state to state when they easily could have said no. For that I am very appreciative to each and every one of them. Later in the journal you will see another really good bit of news coming from MTV.

So we’re 21 days away. Am I nervous? Yes. Am I scurrrrrrrrrred? Yes. Will I finish? Not a doubt in my mind. As I said earlier the next 21 days are my hibernation days. I cut the cell phone, I cut the going out and I just train and get myself in the right mindset to do this bad boy. Last year I didn’t do that until the night before. This year is a lot longer and has been building up a lot longer so I promised myself to start at least on December 1st. I have a lot of work to do, I wish I was in better shape then I am today but feel like I definitely put myself in the right position to make a legit run at this. The time to be worried has past, now its getting into the zone. Where its just me the 120 miles and you all at the end.

SOME EPIC NEWS! Thanks to all of our sponsors and last weekends great events in Rohde Island we made my goal of 50 thousand dollars. This to me is so awesome. I honestly through that number out there last Jan thinking it would be an impossible goal but something for us to strive for. Now that we past it I can hardly believe it. there's nothing wierd with tanning...especially spray on tan. its just like makeup, you put it on to look better, doesnt mean your not accepting your race. since when did a tan make a white person look black/hispanic/whatever? they still look white...just with a glow.

Ok I got a Random email, so no true source to back up. So believe what you will....However, some things seem to tie together especially a few of E!'s Blind Items a few days ago. Very Interesting though. Thank you...you know who... for sending this to me!

Random story........from an unknown source.

"I went to lunch yesterday with my sister and her friend Miss K. Miss K. happens to work for Oprah. The other day, she was in the Harpo studios cafeteria getting breakfast, when lo and behold, there they were - Kristin, Jessica, Alex H. Alex M. and Taylor. Turns out they went to school with one of Harpo's marketing assistants and were there as her guests for the show. Miss K is a huge fan and was freaking out a bit (and she doesn't even freak out over celebrities!) and the marketing director said she would have the Laguna Beach girls stop by her office before they left." So, there they were, the LB girls and Miss K which gave Miss K a chance to ask some pressing questions........here is the scoop:

• Jessica is not very smart (duh!) nor very pretty in person. She is in community college and not doing a whole lot. Miss K. asked her if her parents were mortified by her behavior - she said they weren't exactly pleased. She just used Jeff (boy that was at end of season) didn't really like him, just wanted someone to make out with.

• Stephen and Jason are good friends and live together in LA, but Jason is always at L.C's. Turns out he and LC never broke up and are still dating.

• Also, turns out Jason has some MAJOR issues - the reason he didn't go to graduation.......he didn't graduate. He failed his senior year. Ditto for Talan.

• More on Jason - he has been in and out of rehab about 3 times in the past year. He is also bipolar and is on some major medication. His grandparents are the wealthy ones and his parents don't really work -just live off of the grandparents.

• More on Talan - his mom used to be some actress so is pretty well-connected in Hollywood. The engagement to Kimberly Stewart is just a publicity stunt - they aren't really engaged. His mom is trying to coach him on getting himself into the limelight.

• Stephen and Kristin are dating - they just got back from a vacation together in Hawaii - she's not really dating that Jenner guy - another publicity stunt. Kristin is trying to "make it" in Hollywood.

• Taylor is at school at the University of Arizona.

• Alex H. and Alex M. are roommates. Alex M. is trying to make it in the music world and Alex H. dates a guy in Alex M.'s backup band.

• Another tidbit - Jason used to hit (ie, abuse) Alex M. when they dated. Per Alex M., the reason you didn't see that in the show is b/c MTV was trying to sell a fantasy. That is also why you don't see Alex M. and Jason actually break up.

• LC is supposedly the meanest person of the bunch - they say she is the least approachable.

• Another thing, is apparently MTV and BMW have some sort of deal, which is why you always see them driving around in BMWs - ie, Kristin's dad didn't really buy her the BMW - she got it from MTV.

He has been in REHAB 3 times. although he obviously still smokes, drinks & uses drugs. He beats "Chicks". He has BIPOLAR disorder, and he is willing to be filmed!!!!! He is also Young, Good-Looking & a Total Player'! J-Wahl is the one that needs his own show.

I take offense to whoever told Ann that she is so Mission Viejo. Since... well I live in Mission Viejo. We are not like her, let me tell you. Ann is a very hypocritical person, I have been waiting for someone to say that and no one has so I guess I will.

She was saying profain comments about Cami and then all of a sudden! Ann was applauded by the fact that others were making snide comments, like herself, about Cami. Oh my word, other people like to talk about ethnicities in crude manners!

The reason that I found Ann to be a very rude poster (not even person because I don't know her so I cannot attack her character) is because she decided to attact a 16 or 17 year old girl on a website. What did she attack about this girl? The color of her skin and religion of her grandparents. This is something that African Americans and Jewish people have fought to change for hundreds of years. Repeatedly, Ann decided to bring up the fact that "(read: not white)." Who really cares? So there are not a ton of African Americans in LB, there are some in the surrounding cities. I know that because I live in one of them. They are no different than us! Get it? The same.

So Ann, and person who called Ann a Mission Viejo person... shove it. Move on.

The fact that so many people are taking this show and this blog so seriously is pathetic and troubling. This is ENTERTAINMENT, people (Ann)!!! Take it all with a grain of salt, let us enjoy the humor of this ridiculous show, and for God's sake- SAVE THE TIRADES FOR SOMETHING THAT ACTUALLY DESERVE THEM! Watch the news and hit the CNN website if you want to get on a soapbox. I personally applaud people who actually stop running around like racism doesn't exist, and like racist jokes are ok because "they're funny...just get over it." I'm like why be closet racist when you can be straight out racist. Just don't stick your head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist and that the people that are making fun of people's ethnicity, pointing them out because they're "different" aren't racist. Because they are. The people making little statement to point out that people are different because of their race just laugh at you behind your back for supporting them because that person is so desperate for approval from them they'll let themselves be disrepected and disparaged to their face and pretend like the person making the joke is their friend. REmember that guy in Texas about 5 years ago (Bird) that was dragged and decapitated behind the car of his white "friends" who he liked to get together with and drink, and listen to them tell racist jokes that he didn't take so seriously because they were just jokes and he needed to just go with the flow, and its all just in good fun. Jokes let you see how people think. And one night they got drunk and took their little token "different" friend, tied him to the back of their car and drove down the rode, thereby tearing his body apart. Don't be stupid. Be not white and laugh at race "ethnicity" jokes and you are. I'm sure Mr. Birds friends were just being funny too.

I'm just saying, just recognise where these things come from and where they can lead. These jokes are just a little sneak peak of what's always kind of bubbling below the surface.
