These episodes were great. I loved the interaction between Alex and Rocky. He seems to have matured a little tiny bit, which is good. Tessa is still boring. And doesn't Epic already have an Incubus?

Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm too old, much older than the 'Guna kids, but when I hear Open Air Stereo, all I hear is noise.
I go to concerts. I've seen some great bands. But everytime they show this band performing, I can't find any rhythm. I don't understand any of the tone deaf lyrics sung by What's His Face Who Secretly Wants to Do His Chimpmunk Pseudo Best Friend Tessa. Me thinks someone's daddy and MTV had something to do with this band getting signed. I hope they have good lawyers.

P.S. I love the Jersey comment about Chase's sister. Classic.

Cami has a boyfriend and we've seen the pics. He looks a lot older though, which is probably why we haven't seen him on the show.

Breanna doesn't care R U kidding????? Did we watch the same show?

1. Breanna was totally pissed about Derek? She tried to play it off on the cruise to and The Lexie called her on it. She said you had a crush on him and you made out with him. She admits she did, but that she was blind.

2. At The Roxy Miss Bree hits up Derek first thing and says I've been ignoring you. He's like that's not nice and all cutesy she says he wasn't nice and they continue to argue. She says should we sit through this, because is this going to be a long talk? Check your TiVO.

3. While Tessa is hugged up on Derek, Breanna and her crew take a seat next to them and she reaches behind Tessa to tap Derek and, MTV captions quote her, saying "What I said is we need to finish talking." Twice. After Derek ignores her and a friend clowns Breanna by saying, "Tessa's taking your Man", does Breanna "give the hand". Does that seem like someone who doesn't care?

And like someone said on a different post is any LB guy really anyone's boyfriend? Breanna's no different from any other LB chick when it comes to the guys too bad even she could stick her Mom's advice.

But, B-side you forgot to mention that when the girls were on the boat and they were talking about 'relationships' they asked Cami something about when is it going to be her turn. Finally someone notices on the show that Cami hasn't had any action.

Breanna was soooo annoying when Derek and Tessa were cuddling, she HAS to come sit next to them and bug Derek about "we need to finish talking" Ummmm....hellllo, can't you see he's busy?? omg, if i was Tessa i would tell her to go away.

5. The way Telan "broke the news" to his friends about getting a contract "Uhhh I got something to say, and I don't know how to say it". DAMN DUDE, I thought someone died for a second! I was happy to see Nick and Cam quickly take him down off his pedestal by asking LOGICAL questions about school, etc.

6. MTV better not give OAS a spin-off show about their musical "career". LC they aint!!!!

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the band sucks. Every "song" (and I use that word loosly) sounds exactly the same -- just a lotta screechy noise.

I figured it was the LB exposure that got them signed. I'd feel kinda bad for Chase, because it's clear that he is way, WAY into it, but his limited vocabulary, his overuse of LB slang terms and his over the top stage prancing is A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G.

I was really glad when The Elbow blocked my view of Tessa & Derek spit-swapping. Ick.

1) I actually am sad to admit that i watched this episode at about 3 am last nite... and woke up this morning humming Open Air Stereo.... yes it's embarrasing but i actually like the song they played last nite.. (the only song they ever play)

2) Cameron and Derek were so damn jealous of Kelan... that is why they made all those akward jokes... and Cameron tried to drag him down by saying "what happens if you band fails man?"... What happend to being happy for your friend... they should have been thrilled for the kid landing a record deal..

I think deep down Cameron knows he's a slacker who is one day gonna be working at the Laguna gas station... while his friends are actually making something of themselves..

Let me also add that while Cami overall grosses me out... those boobies are amazing...

And whats up with Breanna getting all jealous... if u guys dont think she was jealous... watch it again... Derek and Tessa were cuddling and she just sticks her head in there and says "We have to finish our talk"... that chick was seriously tryin to get Derek's attention back... but it was too late since Tessa already got her camel clutch on him...

I must admit I did not read the recap or watch the episode (I wish the new Firefox had grammar correction for this soon-to-be run-on sentence) but I want to THANK this episode of Laguna for making me realize that I don't give a shit about Laguna Beach and am too old (21) to be watching this show. All it took was that horribly staged scene with Cami and Kyndra where I realized I was SO sick of these pretend-acting "celebrities" that I found that my Tivo is better spent taping that extra (pretentious) minute of Lost.

Is it wrong that I want to join the circus and have a juggling act with Cami's titties?

does anyone else think that the producers edited the scene with chase and tessa so it looks like they're kinda liking each other? they're probably really not..but the editing was a little weird to me.

I think Bree-Bree just talked too much smack and couldn't back it up and looked like a damn fool. Yes, Breanna, once you've used a boy then it's done, get over it. But you seemed to have a hard time getting over the fact that Derek was done with your ass. BUURRRNNN, Franken-Breanna.

Epic signing OAS looked like such a joke. I was thinking how it couldn't have happened to a band who had to struggle as hard as OAS. They were living out of a van. They only ate pizza crusts to save money for gas to go to each gig.....(sarcasm in case some missed it). I thought it was hilarious how they got their "big break" while standing in a kitchen that could appear on MTV Cribs it was so nice.

All Rocky and Alex do is eat. She's gonna get doughy if she doesn't cut it out. Then he'll dump her again.

I was originally going to post in each episode, but this one will do. Warning: Extra episode = extra long post. Proceed with caution.

This was definitely a tale of two episodes. Smart move by MTV slapping that snorefest together with one of their bread and butter (IE Prom, Cabo ect) episodes. If I waited all week just to see Chase’s crummy band get signed in a horrifically staged scene, I would have donned the blueberry tracksuit, lit a torch and led an army of screaming preteen girls to the MTV offices to wreak havoc… All wreaking of havoc aside(AKA booing executives from the street and throwing skip-its), just the sight of my 6’3, 185 pound frame the size small blueberry tracksuit would have ensured the banishment of “OAS” to permanent after show status. Trust. Trust.

Random thoughts regarding the 2 episodes, recaps and comments…

Best line of the two recaps was the observation that Tara looked “mildly busty today.” I love it when B-Side gives us random updates on 16 year old cleavage. Let’s hope our usually flat, but occasionally busty friend Tara isn’t lurking and reading these recaps. She’ll be in doctor 90210’s office faster than you can say duck liver. Speaking of duck liver, was anyone else disappointed that Cameron didn’t spell out P-R-O-M in pieces of Fois Gras? Tara’s head would have exploded. Anything would have been better than the 3rd grade effort Cameron put forth. Talk about mercy proposals.

I will admit though, I was fairly impressed with Derek’s proposal. THE LEXIE seemed to be impressed as well, she doesn’t give out those wooden hugs to just anyone. If I was working for MTV, I’d spice up the way they present her name to reinforce the whole ice princess thing. Like when her name pops up, I would put in howling wind and water freezing sound effects, and show snow and little icicles forming on her name. Speaking of “the ice princess,” take a wild guess what I would name my yacht. Now that’s a name for a boat.

I’m going to have to agree with the people who said they thought Alex seemed drugged. He appeared like he was a little too “amped” for his own good on both episodes. I also have too agree with “that’s like totally random” about how suspicious it was for Alex and friend to randomly head to the bathroom to do some quick lines… Errr… Urinate before they left. I was a bouncer in a couple bars for 3 years, and it’s usually a pretty telling sign of drug use when guys head to the bathroom in tandem. Something was definitely up; Rocky was a little too upset considering he was only supposedly taking a leak before they left. She didn’t even want to sit next to him when he got in the limo. I realize that MTV twists around what is really happening to get ratings, but there’s no way they could have managed to make this kid look that bad without it being at least 75% truth. You know the old expression. If it looks like shit, and smells like shit…

Second telltale sign of drug use: Complete lack of regard for personal appearance. Alex was definitely channeling his inner 8-Bahl with the scruffy “I only shower on Sundays” look. This was pretty evident with the wonderfully awful black and white striped shirt he wore to dinner in the second episode. At least with that shirt it showed he’s embracing his stellar vocabulary. All that was missing was white face paint and a beret. Something tells me he’s not going to be sending me an article of clothing any time soon.

There’s a reason why Cami’s boobs look super bouncy ESPECIALLY when she’s in Kyndra’s car. Don’t think for one second she’s not completely aware there is a camera built into Kyndra’s dashboard.

And finally, somebody said they thought Bernice was coked up because she kept touching her nose in the limo. Don’t be silly, her nose was a little itchy since she had just gotten her mustache waxed off. ZING ZING ZING we have a winner.

Okay, I googled Open Air Stereo to see if they have a website... long story short, there are some pictures of there of Chase with shoulder length hair, it's awful! How said that I would look that up... I love this show, and the recaps are wonderful as always! I'm so glad they're starting to film the new season in December!

For B-Side to REALLY believe that Breanna didn't care that Derek asked Lexie to the prom and made out with Tessa at The Roxy, he'd have to be one of two things: either stupid or biased. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he's biased.

Funniest part of the show....When Derek told Cameron that they put the fat, slow kids at first base after Cam tried to sound all athletic becuase he played first base!!! Loved it...ZING.

Also, becuase I DVR'd the episode, I had the ability to FFW the OAS parts...."tell meeeeeeeeee, when will you stop sucking....." The scenes literally make me feel uncomfortable.

Does anyone else feel the strong urge to mute their television when Breanna speaks? Her voice is really annoying.

The other Tessa manuever I caught was when she and Derrick were sitting at the table, and Breanna was right next to them, Tessa was actually body-blocking Breanna. I think Tessa's an uber-bitch. Her behavior at the concert was actually pretty aggressive.

I don't like Tessa at all. I think there's a reason why NO other girls except Raquel like her. I felt kind of bad for Breanna, that was an AWKWARD situation all the way around. I think when it comes to Tessa, the guys can just smell a cheap f*ck a mile away. I noticed no LB guys asked her to the prom, she was the only one.

The day after, at the beach, when Tessa and Jade were talking about Derrick and Breanna, Raquel looked really uncomfortable. Maybe Tessa likes Alex for reasons other than Raquel thinks, and Raquel is starting to see her true colors. Also, I HATE Tesaa's annoying giggle - HATE IT!!!!!

OAS sucks. I think Kyndra is pathetic for her groupie antics at their concerts - pathetic!

Breanna is ok but she is not as pretty as Tessa or her sister must be hard to live up to LC she's smart way pretty and more mature. Bree Bree did look jealous I think because Derek didn't diss Tessa infact it was the oposite. OAS is just a fad once LB is over so will they. I couldn't even understand what they were singing not even the closed caption could comprehend what they were singing. Cami is one of the luckily one people spend thousands of dollars to have her boobs and hers are natural I say as long as there perky and perfect flaunt it girl. I thought boys like girls with natural perfect boobs? Is it just older guys. Make sense Cami would have an older BF none of the LB guys would be able to handle her anyways!

Yeah, i'm starting to get the feeling in these last 2 episodes that Tessa isn't so nice. There was something about her attitude that I didn't like. And like someone else said, she's kinda 'easy'. Well a lot of the girls in LB are, it's so oobvious, but Tessa hides it. I think her true self is coming out, and we'll see on the last episode her bitchy side.

It was right after the montage of night vision inside the prom and before they all piled in the limo. Rocky (outside the hotel) asks Tessa if shes seen Alex, and Tessa either WASTED and bitchy, or COKED and bitchy, barely looks at her, shrugs and mumbles something like, I have no idea.

maybe youre right T-V Addict, maybe Tessa and Alex had a drunk/high moment of lovin that the cameras didn't catch and she couldnt look her Rocky in the eye... because you KNOW if they had, that would have been THE moment of the episode...

I wonder if this will all come to a head next week... those tense moments about Rocky/Bree-Bree and Tessa looked GOOD. Although, with MTV's editing, it always LOOKS good, then winds up being NOTHING.

It was in the prom episode. Raquel was standing outside looking for Alex. Tessa came walking up, and Raquel asked her if she'd seen Alex, and Tessa just kept walking by. She responded but it was really dismissive, NOT the way most girls would treat their closest friend.

As for Breanna sitting near Derrick and Tessa, I agree it was not the best move - BUT she WAS at a separate table, and Tessa actually leaned her ENTIRE body on Breanna's table, and blocked her view of the band. Tessa put herself in that situation, she knew the deal - she had Derrick's attention, there was no reason to act that way. It was a total white-trash move.

I DO NOT LIKE Tessa. I've said all along that something doesn't add up with her. On some level she LIKES the conflict, notice she is never intimidated by the other girls - but NONE of the other girls like her. Candi Lopes made a comment on The Lexie's boat about Tessa hoovering on the guys - I'll bet there's more there than meets the eye.

BTW B-Side the recaps are awesome, and the names you came up with for the boat are hilarious!

Thanks to whoever pointed out that Alex & Raquel/"Rocky" always eat....several unflattering shots of her in these two episodes clearly show she's losing her figure.

That's probably why she gave up the blueberry track suit, it doesn't fit anymore.

B-side, I agree that Rachel is looking less Bernice lately...I'm even going so far to say that she's looked pretty hot in the last 3 episodes.

I also was a bit caught off guard by the "faster, daddy" thing.

Although it hasn't occurred to me that Tessa isn't really intimidated by the other girls, I say I'd agree w/ that. But I don't see that as being a bad thing or that it is proof she's shady. If you don't like someone, you're not going to care much about what they think or what they do, so why should anything they say or do intimidate you? I will say that that is more of a grown-up way of looking at it, but perhaps that's how it is in this case. ? She doesn't want to waste her time being cut down by people she doesn't even care about.
That being said, I completely disagree w/ the whole 'rocky can't be friends' w/ whoever crap that both Breanna and Tessa seem to be shoving down Rocky's throat. Anyone that is mad at you for befriending someone is not your friend to begin with. I've never heard Tessa discussing the situation w/ Rocky, giving her reasons as to why she doesn't like Breanna, or trying to convince Rocky why she may be a bad friend. Instead she gets mad and throws a fit. That's ridiculous. Way to make your best friend feel bad for having other firends.No one needs friends like that.

I actually didn't think the song OAS played at the Roxy was half bad, but it def reminded me of Incubus. And Chase REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to figure out some different stage moves. OMG it kinda made me want to hurl.

I agree that not being intimidated by people who don't treat you well is actually a good thing, but I think there's something else going on with Tessa. I probably didn't state it very well, but I still think her reactions are kind of strange.

I just think Tessa's got a weird edge to her, which might not bother me if I thought she was being up front about it. She just seems like a really passive-aggressive person - and I think her sweet, girly demeanor is an act.

It's just my opinion, and I HAVE been accused of being over-analytical before. A few times. LOL!

I did not find Epic signing the band the least bit interesting. It was just taking up precious minutes from the Tessa/Derek make-out/Breanna seething debacle.

I liked Tessa in this epi. When Breanna started making out with Derek in Cabo she was a bigger sleeze since she didn't have a history with him. Tessa on the other hand did. They used to be bf/gf (for 2 seconds, but still).

I like that Tessa doesn't waste time talking about the meanies. Everyone on here always makes fun of how stupid Kyndra and Cami look when they tear Tessa or Rocky down....so I don't get the prob. I actually enjoyed that Tessa was a little more "agressive". I was getting really tired of her just sitting back and taking it all the time. I once posted that if she sat there and did nothing then she deserved what she got.

Way to go Tess! I think we know each other well enough for me to call you Tess. (Awkward)!!

You hit the nail on the head when you said that the previews always make the show look good because of MTV’s editing and then the show airs and it’s nothing. It’s getting to the point where I’m finding the editing to be borderline insulting. Most of the viewers (at least the ones that post on this site) are smart enough to know that MTV edits scenes to suggest something is happening when it really isn’t. I mean come on people; we were all onto MTV’s sorry attempt to convince us that Rocky was crying because Alex was calling her a slut.

With respect to Alex, I still don’t trust that guy. Nobody just changes from being a jerk to a nice guy in a month’s time. We know Alex feels the same way about people changing because when Rocky said she would change for him, he said that she’s not going to change. I think he’s a fraud and I hope Rocky doesn’t get her heart broken again. She’s too nice.

On to Tessa…I think there is more to her than we originally thought and it’s not necessarily good. I wish we knew the history behind her feud with Breanna. We know that Rocky was Bree-Bree’s friend and then met Tessa at Bree-Bree’s house and the two girls (Rocky & Tessa) became friends. Is that what caused Rocky and Bree-Bree to have a falling out? Was it because Bree-Bree was jealous of Rocky and Tessa’s friendship? Maybe so, but now that I’m seeing Tessa through a new set of eyes, I have to wonder if there is more to the story than what we know.

I watched the episode over again on Overdrive and to me Tessa didn't really seem that bitchy when Rocky asked her where Alex was. She just looked really out of it and kinda pissed at Rocky. Ten bucks says she's been asking about him all night and Tessa was just a little fed up.

Kristin kissed Jessica's man at a party in front of people and admitted she didn't like Taylor for no reason. LC openly tried to steal Stephen from Kristin for a whole season, dropped Lo, then fell in love with the town manslut. Is this some sort of blondes can only have fun shit?

I understand that folks want to look out for Breanna, she's LC's little sis, but talk about not being up front. She's always getting caught talking shit. First she admitted that she didn't like splitting time with Rocky and Rocky's boyfriend and cutting Rocky off. The she lies to Lexie to make it seem like Rocky was a bitch to her when she wasn't. She talked a bunch a crap with her Mom's encouragement, about using boys, but when she got used, she lost her mind. Didn't LC say don't fight over stupid shit and wouldn't Derek count?

And what's up with The Lexie picking on Bree over Derek, then going to Prom, The Prom or whatever you want call it with him - some friend.

Tessa looked hella wasted at prom when she blew by Rocky. How bombshell would it be if she messed with Alex? There's definitely more to the Breanna/Tessa beef (Tessa wonders how can Rocky can be freinds with someone who's always mean to her. I think it's nice that Rocky is trying to make it work with Breanna. I hope MTV doesn't short change us.

The guys are straight haters too, whether it's Cameron hating on Derek and Tessa, Alex hating on Nick and Rocky, Nick hating on everyone and whatever girl they're with and Cameron and Derek being jealous over Kelan's record deal. They are the whackest.

What about Cameron trying to creep up on Jessica again?

Sooo I'm way too old for this but for some reason I love this show...especially B side's recaps. Too funny!
In my many years of dating experience there are two things that are the kiss of death to your relationship:
(1) discussing/planning a vacation, even as small as a weekend trip
and
(2) when a guy says "I don't want to screw this up"
For some reason, these two things lead directly to breakup, this has been scientifically tested & confirmed by my group of friends. Since Alex made this exact statement to Rocky post prom, I predict the end of the road for them.
Tessa is a ton more fun drunk, she should hit the "mysterious red cup" more often.

There is definitely more to the Tessa/Rocky/ Breanna friendship and I hope in the last episode we might see more of what is really going on!

Well, that's it. So far they've been to Canada to do some writing (maybe the cooler weather catalyzes brain activity? What other secrets are record execs holding out on?) and they played at the KROQ's annual Weenie Roast. Oh, and let us not forget that they were among the dozen best high school bands in the entirety of Orange County. And still, these four will probably be among the most successful post-series of the entire Laguna Beach cast.

The real issue about this episode is the Barbie girl thing.

I was so embarrassed for myself that I was watching these chicks sing, dance and boobie bounce to this song.

It almost made me change the channel..........Almost.

First off, OAS doesn't seem that bad judging by the only song they play over and over. Actually pretty good for high schoolers.

Second, did anyone pick up on Alex's secret feelings for Tessa? This is just a theory, but when he said why would she choose Derek of all people, it kind of revealed a little that he cares about who she dates. I can't remember, but didn't he say she looked good in San Diego at the modeling show? And he's always telling Rocky that Tessa's a good friend. Just wondering why she comes up a lot in their convo's. I know she's Rocky's best friend, and that's why Alex probably hasn't made a move on her, because lord knows he was making moves on every girl at the bonfire after breaking up with Rocky. Anyone else think so? Maybe I'm imagining things.

I AGREE about Alex having a thing for Tessa... at the bonfire where he broke up with Rocky, Tessa made a comment to him about how good he looks with his new haircut... and in the prom episode he kept asking Rocky questions about Tessa's love life... I just get that vibe from him that he's a snake that wouldn't think twice about making a move on Tessa, and the more I watch Tessa the more I think that she would totally go for it..

As far as Tessa goes, I think the fact that she's so soft-spoken has deceived everyone all season... she seems like she's an idiot that her friends dropped (even though I'm not a huge fan of many of the other girls on this season, I find it hard to believe that anyone would stop being friends with Tessa for no reason other than the fact that she was in the hospital) because she sucked and at the same time Rocky and Breanna had a falling out so they just sort of latched onto each other. The more I think about it the more I realize that Rocky and Tessa have never once had a conversation that wasn't about either Alex or how much they hate their ex-best friends. It saddens me to say it but it seems that the dynamic between Cami and Kyndra is stronger than the one between Rocky and Tessa.

If I have to see one more forced scene between Chase and Tessa that attempts to make it seem like they even have 1% interest in each other I'm going to scream...

And on one last note, I can't even watch my tv screen when Lexie comes into play anymore... she's such a BITCH... very cold and dismissive of everyone around her, even her 'friends'. I hope for season 3 she gets locked in a closet full of ballet slippers until graduation so that we don't have to deal with her.

Cherin - Interesting comments, but I'm going to have to disagree. I think the reason why we only see Rocky and Tessa talking about ex-best friends and boys is due to editing. And besides (B-Sides?), that's pretty much all this show is about anyway.

I don't buy the whole "Tessa is an undercover bitch" argument. That would throw into question the character of her enemies - are Kyndra, Cami, Breanna, etc. actually the good ones? Yeah right. Plus I have a hard time believing Rocky would be best friends with a total bitch.

I think the whole Tessa revelation is not necessarily that she is a bitch who has all of the sudden “come out of the closet,” but rather she’s not the sweet angelic girl she was portrayed to be in the earlier episodes. Then again, it goes back to the editing and the out-of-sequence episodes. MTV may have intentionally put together and aired episodes that showed “good-girl” Tessa first and saved the “mean-girl” Tessa scenes for later. Then it would look like she grew a backbone and transitioned into a bitch. Remember how MTV aired her surprise birthday party before the Christmas episode, even though she was born in March?

As I keep posting in the comments, we have yet to see Tessa "standing up" to Kyndra and Cami as she stated in the introductory episode. So maybe CMC is right and MTV is editing everything to look as though Tessa was meek and dissed at the start of the season and then becomes more aggressive later on.

Mostly I think Tessa was way too camera-conscious and that's why she often seems so bland and wooden on the screen. Cami and Kyndra, on the other hand, play up to the cameras. I kind of hope they cringe when they see themselves now (but I rather doubt it)

I really haven't liked Tessa from the beginning. Something about her just rings false to me.

Kyndra is a genuinely miserable bitch, and probably always has been. The fact that she and Tessa were formerly BFF's, indicates to me that Tessa probably operated that way as well.

As for Raquel not being friends with a bitch, no offense, but she doesn't seem to have the best judgement when it comes to people. I think her relationship with Alex is a testament to her bad judgement.

Tessa reminds me of a rabid dog: She looks like the rest of the pack, she hangs around on the edges of the pack, but she is not of the pack. The pack stays away from her because she is bad news. There is a reason her classmates think she is bad news.

OAS actually sounded more decent than they had before. Maybe the sound equipment was better or something. Still, I couldn't believe how unenthusiastic Kelan was about it. Chase was excited and should be. Cameron and Derek seemed jealous as hell of the fact and what good friends they are. Tessa seemed slightly more excited for Chase but still very monotone "I'm so happy for you." Still, it's nice to see kids on the show with some sort of ambition or drive, even though they do have their parents' money to help them out.

I was pretty suspicious of Alex last episode, but he seemed much more genuine this episode. I wonder what changed. He was such an ass after they broke up, maybe he really did feel bad about it.

Whatever that creature was, its dorsal fin of maritime ghastliness surely made this a most horrific of joyrides.
