Look Who Came After Dinner - TVgasm

by J-Unit

patobrien_starSome of you may or may not know that we are big fans of sushi here at the TVgasm offices. Living in Los Angeles, there is a great range from the 99¢ Sushi Mac (which is overpriced, if you ask me) to fine establishments like Nobu and Matsuhisa. Since we have had more marriage proposals than advertisers willing to dish some coin, we usually have to settle for something that is closer to Budget Gourmet than Iron Chef. One of those places that is inexpensive but manages to have good sushi is Kabuki. Kabuki is actually a chain of restaurants, but they have half price dinner and lunch specials, and some of the best salmon and albacore on the planet, even before considering that each order is only less than $3.

After finishing the meal, everybody was waiting outside (B-side was talking to a few actor friends of his), and happened to notice that right out side of Kabuki's front door is the Hollywood Walk of Fame Star for none other than Pat O'Brien. So, although there is no reason to go to Hollywood just to laugh at Pat O'Brien's star, the trip makes much more sense if you consider how great the sushi will be for such little money. If you needed any other reason to check this place out, it seems that a Wayans brother always seems to be passing through at some point during the evening.

In summary:

  • Good sushi, low price
  • Pat O'Brien Walk of Fame Star
  • Almost always a Wayans Brother
  • Possibly J-unit or B-side
Who could ask for more? If you want to eat at Kabuki (I swear I'm not getting paid), it's on Vine just north of Sunset Boulevard.

This is an outrage.

As a writer for TVGasm, who does it for the love of TV not the coin (as proof by lack of coin), I am actually discusted that J-Unit and B-Side would use a forum like this to hawk something as mundane and silly as Kabuki Sushi. I can only assume you got at the least a free meal. And what have I gotten?? Nothing. This is not a place to hawk things. Our readers trust us and I am seriuosly dismayed. This is for the passion of TV. Nothing more. We are here to enhance the TV viewers experience. Not unlike my Sony KDE-50XBR950 50" XBR® Plasma WEGA™ High Definition Television which does for me. Its soft sleak design, flat panel and no glare plasma filter, makes my TV watching a complete and utter joy. And although I had to pay a nominal, yet sensable price for my Sony’s KDE-50XBR950 XBR® Plasma WEGA™ High Definition Television, which combines elegant style with stunning picture quality, I thought I could always count on sharing that joy I feel with TVGasm readers without the clutter of attempted sales techniques. When I sit down at my Gateway® M320 be it at home or on the go, I know Gateway's thin and light notebooks are designed for highly mobile users requiring performance, integration and an extra-long battery life. The one thing I didn't know is that TVGasm would evolve into some sort of sham used to aquire compensation of one sort or another. And I know I can say for me and the good people at www.GoldenPalace.com, that I am appauled and dismayed by your actions on TVGasm today.

Good Day,

MYL

I'm too busy playing with my new Sony PSP with it's excellent graphics, stereo sound and sharp 4.3 inch color screen to go out for Sushi, do they deliver from Kabuki?

Pat O'Briens star looks as dirty as he is

Is that a drain hole on his star? That has to be worth a joke or 3.

Umm, I'm pretty certain you've got the wrong wrong "Pat O'brien" fella's.

That one belongs to James Cagney's co-star in "Angels With Dirty Faces" (he plays the priest). He was also in several dozen other films, some big, some little.... time to turn off the NCAA tourney and flip on TCM and AMC.

Ahh, youngsters.

Yes, we were alerted to the fact that we had the wrong Pat O'Brien listed(the correct one has two stars), but we reserve the right to spread this disinformation in the name of gossip.

KABUKI...........B-side, what ever happened to that hip, bitchin' cool ass mofo place on Sunset near Doheny? I think it is called 'Blowfish', you should go there. Word on the street is that their desserts are to die for!

I guess there sushi is pretty good too.

I just found this place b/c I was searching for Pat O'Brien soundbytes, but I'm glad I ran into it. You guys are refreshingly funny compared to the other 56 year old men who sit in their underwear listening to comedian after comedian trying to find the perfect mix of jokes they can splice together. I look forward to reading more of your updates and comedic jargon on T.V. trash... Just out of curiousity do all of you guys who post write/work for this website?

YouthInAsia,

Welcome to the TVGasm-volution! TvGasm's team is found at http://www.tvgasm.com/team.php The people who post comments on here are people, not unlike yourself, who we have somehow convinced that we are worth reading, but I assure you, we're not. I would add this site to your Net Nanny list to avoid the temptation. We are more adictive and less usefull than QVC or a Ron Popiel informercial. Run!! Run while you can!!
