Cameo Watch 2005 -

The first cameo was Melinda Clarke in Firefly, the short-lived Joss Whedon series that managed to have a fan base that was at the same time more ardent and more geeky than those of Babylon 5. I loved Firefly and Serenity, so you know I was excited to see Ms. Clarke show up as Nandi, the brave companion (that's a prostitute in sci-fi western slang), who wanted to free herself and the other ladies (and men) of her brothel from the control of the wealthy land owner. Nor fornication without representation, and all that. Plus, the guy threatened to cut the baby he fathered with one of the prostitutes out of the mother with a knife. As the saying goes, that would be unfortunate.
The sex scene between Nandi and the Captain was so hot, there was a parental warning before hand. TVgasm being a family site, we show you what happened afterwards.
Nandi was one hot, gun-toting, entrepreneur. Yay capitalism and Charlton Heston!
Sadly, this is not another picture of post-coital bliss. Nandi was killed. Moral of the story: If you're going to be a whore, hire a body guard. See: Paris Hilton, Britney Spears.
Kristin Bell appeared during the movie Spartan. If you were wondering why I Tivo'd this movie, I can only say that I am a sucker for movies featuring the Secret Service. In the Line of Fire, Murder at 1600, Guarding Tess, all outstanding. Spartan may be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. In fact, I was surprised that I saw Kristin Bell at all, because I wasn't paying attention most of the time (ntldr had gone missing by then). Kristin Bell plays Laura newton, daughter of the president, who goes missing while the Secret Service is guarding her dad while he has an affair. To cover up the affair, they let her be sold into white slavery in the Middle East and fake Laura's death. But one agent, Val Kilmer, wouldn't let the conspiracy risk the life of an innnocent girl, even if she was a stuck up bitch from Harvard.
You may think this hairstyle is ugly, but just think Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby.
We know that Kristin Bell is tiny, but this makes Nicole Richie look rubenesque.
Laura Newton may have booted, but she rallied her way back into the hearts and minds of an entire nation.

Kristen Bell is an amazing actor. It is unfortunate that her incredible acting is overshadowed by the fact that Veronica Mars is considered a "teen drama" and therefore overlooked. Teen drama or not, it is one of the best shows I've watched.

Kristen Bell was also in season 1 of Deadwood, she was a young thief that was beaten to death, it was really intense! She is a great actress. TVgasm will you write recaps for Deadwood when it comes back in January? It would be a great addition

I think Melinda Clarke plays one hell of a whore in whatever show she is in! Thanks for the Firefly reference, I miss that show. I'm looking forward to some "Lexmas" soon!!!

I saw that picture of Melinda Clarke and knew immediately which episode of Firefly that was.
I'm one of those geeks. What a great show...and that sex scene deserved the rating - yowza!

I'm so glad to hear that someone else's Tivo caught that horrible "Spartan" flick. I couldn't even make it long enough to see Bell.
Don't forget that Bell was also in an early episode of The Sheild, where she got her face tattooed by a rapist.

As I am sure everyone knows, Clarke was the dominatrix in CSI that Grissom fell in love with--Lady Cassandra. One of the most erotic scenes is when they were sitting at her table and she offers him more tea. YOWZA YOWZA!
I'd say she's a prude, whaddya think? LOL

Mr. L digs him some MC and Firefly both, so when we got the DVD's (didn't everyone?) he was a happy camper.
