TVgasm's Top Twenty Deaths of the Season - TVgasm

by B-side

Previous page |  1  |  2  |  3  ( Comments )

The single-most surprising, heartbreaking, moving, and frustrating death of the year. How could they do that to Edgar! Why?? Why???? It all happened when terrorists filled CTU with deadly nerve-gas. All the important people sealed themselves up in the Situation Room. Everyone but Edgar. He was still toiling in the server room. By the time he returned, it was too late. He knew his time was up. "Chloe..." he said, articulating a great friendship and perhaps mutual love. And with that, the big guy fell to the ground like a sack of marshmallows. There have been many, many deaths on 24, but none have had the emotional intensity of this scene.

So what do you think? Agree with the rankings? Did we miss anyone?

This wasn't the first time a Law and Order Lawyer was killed.

Jill Henessey was killed in a car crash by a drunk driving after picking up Lenny Briscoe from a bar.

and they faked killed Alexandra Cabot when she went into to the witness protection program. (but that was on SVU)

(hmm. but maybe they dont like ADA's named Alexandra)

yes. i watch too much law and order.

Thanks Juxtapoeser -- I've revised it to say "second".

juxtaposer,

D'oh! I totally forgot about Claire! My bad. Although it is the first murder of an ADA.

I also watch too much Law and Order.

ana-lucia shooting shannon "by accident" on L O S T was pretty surprising!!

J-Unit - thanks for posting her character's name...it was driving me crazy.

I secretly used to be anti L&O:CI cause Det. Goren is such a face talker...but damn those USA marathons!!! (plus...i was running out of fresh episodes)

B-side...I forgot to tell you that your list rocks. and I agree with the order RIP Edgar. (J-Unit's right...its the first (real) murder of a lawyer...so thats a landmark L&O event!!)

No doubt Edgar was the single most important death.

I miss galactica. COME BACK GALACTICA!!!

That was cool how there was no hype about ana/libby shootings. total shocker. jumped way out of my chair.

I think you'll have to revise this list once you see the Alias finale (or at least add an honorable mention...)

What no 6/Gina from BSG blowing off a nuke and taking a few ships out as a death?

You did not include Beaver "My name is Cassidy" Casablancas on Veronica Mars.
His death is interesting because, although he turned out to be the uber-villian (mahvellous), fans are still upset about his death since he was an intriguing/sympathetic character.

am i the worst for crying about marissa?
it's the stupid music, gets me every time!

and i would say "doc", the sad dog-death on grey's anatomy was my biggest tearjerker.

B-Side, you really need to watch last night's Alias finale.

Otherwise, good list!

Oh, Edgar, poor, poor Edgar....have a few Krispy Kremes in heaven, but watch out for Vito!! You're just his type!!! And, on last night's "24" just at the end, when we thought things were calmed down, Chloe got that picture, and it opened up all the sadness again. As for Marissa Cooper, when they said someone was going to die on the "OC" my only comment was, "I hope its the real skinny girl!"

Agreed, g3. Despite Cassidy's vile conduct, I was heartbroken by his demise (and his last line--he just wanted hte dignity of being called his real name!)...unlike Aaron Echolls, Cassidy was someone I actually came to care about.

Speaking of VM, HOORAY for the impending third season! I couldn't be happier about that!

Great list B-side. The four deaths on 24 that you mentioned were jaw droppers!

Cruella - I made a big frowny face when Cloe opened that photo, too!

Anna Lucia & Libby on Lost were shockers too. Was Shannon's death this season? It seems like eons ago but island time = 20 mins of real time so I'm probably wrong. That death was a surprise, too.
