Prison Break: Crappily Ever After

Will he or won't he? (Hint: Of course he won't.)

So um. Season finale? I'm pretty sure this wasn't intended as such, but that's what they're calling it. I guess they'll do a little mini-season in the fall made up of whatever was supposed to happen in the back half of season 3? They can't possibly do another full season, because really, there's only so much prison breaking a guy can do. Anyway, this is the last one for the foreseeable future, so hey, season finale it is! Let's see what they can manage to tie up.

Escape's A Beach, And Then You Dive

Cough "Dude, you wanna hit this?"

Oh man. This episode gave me a stomachache. Things look bad for pretty much everybody by the end of the hour. They pull off the super cool snorkel escape but encounter a number of obstacles, up to and including the fact that Whistler totally fucks them over. That boombox gunfire comes in handy though. Plus, Papa McGrady saves the day!

Prison Break: Lights Out!

Big pole fall down go boom!

As a couple of wise men once said, blame it on the rain! An inconvenient downpour moves up the time frame for the tunnel diggers. And while you're at it, blame it on the surprisingly efficient backup generator, and the shady-but-maybe-not fisherman, and Sucre's poorly chosen alias, and also that crazy woman who likes to torture people. But whatever you do, don't put the blame on Michael. He's not taking on any more burdens, dammit! Yeah, we'll see how that works out for you. Also, LINC SMASH!

Prison Break: Briefest! Coup! Ever!

"Para una BOOM grande en Español, marque el uno."

The body count isn't quite Shakespearean this week at Panama's most exclusive resort community, although it does approach (and kind of resemble, now that I think about it) your average episode of Deadwood. The power struggle between Lechero and Sammy bubbles to the surface, explodes, then promptly resolves itself in a mere 44 minutes. Efficient! Whistler comes clean about his role in the Company, except not really, and pretty much everybody still thinks he's full of shit. Also, it's the return of Redemption Mahone, who is totally hot, and Linc purchases mysterious explosives!

So okay, everybody up to speed? With the scary Panamanian prison and the chicken foot deathmatches and the heads in boxes and the possibly shady Australians that sound like they're from London? If not, you should take a few days off and catch up here. Otherwise, off we go with the 5-episode miniseason Fox might as well have called "Oh Thank Christ, We Have A Few Episodes Left Over From Fall So We Don't Have To Show American Idol 7 Days A Week, At Least For Another Month Or So!"
