That’s right. I used the word “quincunx.” My Harper's subscription is paying dividends.

Such a good episode. And a great recap as always.
I especially enjoyed the use of quincunx.

I love your reviews! Classic! ...but you didn't mention the sheet scene, I was itching to see what you came up with for that.

Well that ties it up. I only flipped over a few times and gathered there was a riot, the visitors barely got out before it reached that wing, the doctor was in deep shit (and not convincingly afraid of being raped to death), Lincoln was in company with his executioner, Teabag and a guard were in on the plan and Michael was drilling through to the sewage pipe which would not lead him off the premises.

You also didn't mention the biggest "forehead-slapping" moment. When the "handsome hulking dude" helped Lincoln up and said he would help him find Michael, we got a quick flashback to the phone call at the beginning of the show where the hit on Lincoln was being ordered. What was the point of keeping the guys face hidden during the phone call if as soon as he shows up in the episode you replay the phone call so we know it was him?
One of the best parts about TV is to go "Hey I bet that’s the guy that is going to (fill in the blank)" and then feel vindicated when we are right or surprised when we are wrong. It’s not much of a surprise if you specifically tell me who the killer is. Duh.

Great recap SG-Dub, but now its time for my OCD. Every week you call it Fox Run Prison, the prison is actually called Fox River State Penitentiary.

Boat Girl -
Touche. I think that my mistake came about in week two when I was thinking about some weak joke involving the FOX network running the prison.
Or something.

I need clarification on something -
Was Michael one of the architects who designed the prison?
Or did he work from the firm that designed the prison? And he just studied all the plans that were on file?
Because that prison is old - way older than Michael anyway.

CaliGirl - No, Michael's firm (and Michael) consulted on a re-design of some of the prison elements.
He had nothing to do with the design, but he did get to see all of the updated blueprints.
Great recap!

Best show on television! Thanks for the recap, love the salad tossing lady. She is very familiar although i can't put my finger on it...any idea?

Its Patricia Wettig from 30 something.

I continue to wonder, why didn't Michael just get a job as a prison guard?
I admit that this solution would defeat the purpose of the series, and it would not allow Michael to capitalize on his expertise in structural engineering (and tattoo deciphering). But still. C'mon writers. Think of something, anything, to explain that oversight.

boston:
I would assume the powers that be might find something suspicious in the fact that a well educated architect suddenly wanted to become a guard at the same prison where his brother was going to be killed soon. They do pretty indepth background checks...

On a serious note, the way the show blurs the lines with homosexuality and paedophilia in the T-Bag character does bother me. Again, I don't watch the show, I'm just getting my info from the recaps, but just the thought of those two completely distinct things being associated with each other is a big pet peeve of mine.
Anyway, great recap, sg-dub. "Theodore Bagwell"? I love it. The whole "devil head tattoo" is ludicrous and so so great. BTW, thanks for the name check, I'm honoured.
