With Friends Like Derrick, Who Needs Enemies? - TVgasm

Luckily for Derrick and Diem, Tina and Kenny returned. The only way Theo and Chanda had a chance was through clever editing, because if the two teams were actually at the second puzzle at the same time, there is no way they would cut all of that out. After everybody welcomed the winners home, we had a flashback to the rest of the race, which featured both teams finishing the final puzzle, which was placing six numbers along the side of a triangle so each side of the triangle added to fifteen, but obviously Tina and Kenny won.

I have to say it was kind of sad to see Theo and Chanda go out like that. They were a fun team to watch and all of Theo's prepared one-liners had me mildly chuckling, not unlike I was watching reruns of 227. Theo did get one, last insult in on Derrick for his treachery, saying that he hopes that Derrick uses the money to buy some lifts, because he'll always be taller than him. OK, it was not that funny, especially after Tina said she wanted to win so her partner could get a nose job and she could get liposuction. Now THAT's funny.

There's only one more round of eliminations before the finale, and the final four is really nothing like we could have predicted. Wes aand Casey have managed to make themselves an underdog, and while it would be unbearable to watch Wes take all of that money and pour it into something unimaginable like a wedding to Johanna or an expansion of their T-shirt company, at least the looks on the faces of the other players would make it worth it. And who knows, after marrying Johanna and retiring on their t-shirt sales, maybe he would have enough left over for some sunscreen and a haircut. Hey, we can all hope!

What did you think of this episode? Who will make it to the final challenge?

i think it was SHARP for sharp-shooting with the paintball guns. but even that's a stretch.
and WOO-HOO! i'm the first comment. first time ever!

I have a hunch that the next exile is going to be Derrick and Diem vs. Tina and Kenny. I think that Darrell & Aviv will win the challenge and send in Derrick and Diem. I don't know how they would be able to vote when only two teams will vote and the votes would be even. I wonder how they will do this. All in all I think Wes and Casey will win the loot.

I actually like the way this game is set up, it's turned out to be borderline interesting!

I am interested to see the final challenge; usually they're some sort of endurance thing. If so, Wes/Casey could potentially do the final challenge. Although, any puzzle more challenging than say, "write your name" could really trip them up.

mouth (#3):

There is NO way that Wes and Casey will win the loot unless the final is exactly the same as the exiles we've seen all season. (And usually the final competitions are significantly different than the other ones that happen throughout the season). Any other type of challenge will completely sink them, as Casey has proven herself weak at anything other than carrying a bag and running (notice how they often DQ because she can't complete a task), and he's the least supportive teammate ever who can't even fake-encourage her when her spirits and energy are sagging.

I agree that Derrick and Diem will be competing in the next exile. Darell and Aviv, pissed off about Derrick and Diem's nominations last week, will have them compete first in this next week's challenge so as to handicap them (by being the test subjects for the other teams to learn from). By trying to prevent them from finishing first, whichever team that does win will get them on the block because they are strong and they want them out of the final.

And, for the case of the possible tied vote-in next week: It will probably be up to the first competition's winners to break the tie.

Darrell has won every challenge he's been in, but has never been in an Inferno, Gauntlet, or exile. And everytime he's considered, he gets nervous about it and goes out of his way to win a pardon. He did that in the Inferno 2 when he was considered for elimination. Nothing against Darrell, but if he's as bad as he says he is, why is so so afraid of the elimination round? I know noone wants to lose their place in the game, but if you want to be in one of these challenges, you're going to have to face the fact of going into exile or an Inferno. Just about all of the top players (or constant figures) in the challenges have gone into it and proven themselves at some point, so why can't he?

This. Challenge. Is. So. Boring.

I'd rather watch K-Fed (sorry dread) rap than watch the monotony of this season.

Ho Hum.

Awesome recap, however court_love i would have to disagree with you about the quality of this challenge. I think this is one of the best challenges since gaunlet 1. The hook ups for the challenge was low, but the dynamics have been rather interesting with wesey, the dq of covan, and the overrall quality of the challenge itself. Kudos to MissKatrina about the Wesay comment, freakin hilarious. Check out the After Show with Darrell, he revealed some good stuff. I've also noticed how Darrell has never been in a gaunlet, inferno, or exile, but you cant knock his hustle b/c he's won everything challenge he's been in. He plays the game smart eventhough he pussys out when elimnation rears its ugly head around the corner.

hollabackboy, I was also thinking about when Darrell pussied out during Inferno 2 when Landon was considering sending him to the Inferno. It's actually pretty surprising since Darrell seems to be a really strong player, especially under pressure. But I don't understand why he's mad at Derrick. Derrick and Diem chose Theo and Chanda, and the other teams voted Darrell and Aviv in. They could just as easily have gone for Wes and Casey or Tina and Kenny. But I can't expect a lot of logic from these people.

This episode actually reminded me of when I liked Wes. When I think back to the beginning of the season, I remember why I hate him, but he was funny in this episode. Theo is obnoxious. And I disagree with Court_Love too. This is a good challenge, despite the death of poor Corvan.

I am new to TVgasm, and I love it so far!

Here is my take, america...

Theo and Chanda were an awesome team! I am so sad they are gone because they were so consistent.

I think Darrell is just a good player. He knows how to play the game. He makes friends with everyone and just doesnt ever have to go into exile or the Inferno because he is THAT good. Maybe?

Wes and Casey suck. Although Casey has sneakingly made us like her with her doe eyed looks and Wes yelling at her, I also hate her when she says things like "No one wakes up and says I am going to jump off a four story building. No one does that. I guess thats why they call it a "CHALLENGE"...well, YOU CHALLENGED ME." oh casey.

Derrick and Diem are my fav! I love them. I want them to win cause I love Diem. Really.

Okay Tina...hmm. I hate Kenny. Who cares about a bloody nose. Really? I mean come on.

Is that it? Ok. Well I WANT D and D to win...but I think it will be Darrell. Hands down. Hopefully not Wes-face (so ugly and STUPID) and Casey.

I also hate her when she says things like "No one wakes up and says I am going to jump off a four story building. No one does that. I guess thats why they call it a "CHALLENGE"...well, YOU CHALLENGED ME." oh casey.

That was the funniest thing she said all season. That was from The Overdrive by the way for people who are clueless. That saying actually merits her existence in this challenge.

Shes also hot!

Tina and Kenny make a pretty funny couple. The "he needs a nosejob and I need liposuction" line was hilarious.

This show is a tad boring without the big names/drama starters... still beats last season though.

Darrell is getting on my nerves! I mean Derrick didn't send HIM into Exile! It was Wes and Tina that voted him in! In any case, Darrell should know ALL about looking out for "hisself". He is not exactly a beacon of fair play. On Inferno II, Landon was being a GOOD GUY by telling Darrell that he would pick him to replace him in the Inferno if he won a pardon. Landon was only hoping to raise Darrell's game in the mission. What Landon didn't know was that the pussy would jeopardize the team's chances of winning the mission to save his own ass. Why does Darrell act like it's so outrageous that Derrick voted in Theo? Despite winning every challenge he's been on, Darrell is a LOSER.

I would be happy if any one of the remaining teams wins the Challenge except for Darrell and Aviv.

By the way, J-Unit, the title of the recap is totally uncalled for.

I'm really happy Tina and Kenny won. Theo and what's-her-face where boring as hell, and my crush on Kenny grows by the week.

I also think Derrick and Diem are in trouble for next week. Should be interesting.

Sorry, meant "were boring"

akmusic5, are you 15? Glad to see another juvenile mind here at TVgasm.

Thanks for the recap, J-Unit. Unlike BonaFide, I think the title was very apt. Derrick and Darrel are supposedly best friends and Derrick and Theo and Darrel had an alliance to be in the finale. As Derrick said: he didn't do the math right. By picking Theo & Chanda for Exile, it meant Darrel & Aviv were 1 team against two in the voting. Of course they were going to be voted into Exile. He backstabbed one member of his alliance and put the other in jeopardy. If D&D win the challange than it will be worth it but if they don't and Derrick comes back to the next series, he will be in persona non grata. I mean, who's going to trust him now?
I don't think we have to worry about Wes and Casey winning, unless as Mikey pointed out, the final challenge is exactly like Exile. They haven't come close to winning a challenge and I don't see that changing any time soon.

If you haven't realized every final mission in all of these have been endurance runs just like the exile. Except last gauntlet. I think it is going to be exactly like the gauntlet. Which I think means that Wes and Casey will win. Wouldn't it be funny if Wes and Casey win the next mission and get to pick who is in exile and not be eligible for exile. It would be a win at the perfect time. Lets see!

Um...I am not 15.uh, why...

Um...I am not 15.uh, why...

So it is funny that you guys always talk about Wes being "attacked by a kangaroo", cause I just heard on the news there was a kangaroo loose in my state. hahaha.

Wes and Casey make it to the money round. The previews look like they win too because casey is never happy during an exile and she is cheering wes on. Also wes was not complaining and yelling at her, actually they show the other teams yelling at each other. Go Wes and Casey!
