May and Felton Prevent Roy From Choking - TVgasm

by J-Unit

roy_celebratesCongratulations to Roy Williams and North Carolina for winning the 2005 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. It was an exciting tournament with lots of close finishes, and the final game was just as exciting as any of them. Illinois came back from being behind 15 points to tie, but in the end, Sean May could not be stopped inside and Raymond Felton made a key steal down the stretch to save the win. Luther Head had a chance to tie with ten seconds left, but his shot was off, and it gave Roy Williams his first NCAA Championship in his second year at UNC. I can't stand the Tar Heels, but they had a good team and played a great game.

In our NCAA Tournament Challenge, team pwnt won the whole thing, despite picking UNC to lose to Illinois in the chapionship.

UPDATE: I wrote this article before Yahoo updated the scores, congratulations actually goes to ProphetsOfRage. Sorry for the mixup. The final winning bracket is available after the jump. Thanks for playing, and we'll do the same next year.

Woot. It's been fun. Maybe next year you guys can hold the pool at espn.com because yahoo has a limit of 50 teams?

Wait a moment. Are you sure I won? Check this out http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men/group/19114

Looks like I did jump the gun a little bit. We'll think about ESPN next year.

This year's tourney was truly one of the best in recent memory. Between the insanity of the regional finals and a championship game where neither team was able to get comfortable or take charge during the 2nd half, there was plenty of suspense. And now, less than 5 months until the college football season starts. Woo-hoo!

Yeah, great NC2A tournament this year.
Usually I take Big East teams to the final 4, but those 'heels were too good to look past.
Thanks for letting me be part of the tvgasm world.
I've been reading for a while but never had anything clever enough to say.
(some of the comments on these things are as funny as stuff written by b-side, J-unit, etc.)

Keep it up & let me know if I'm defending my title through yahoo or espn next year.
