Shape Up or Ship Out -
by B-side
As the gang shuffled out, Trump then blared, "And tell Lenny he doesn't have long to go. Believe me. You can give him that message from me!" Hey, what did Lenny do? Okay, he had a lame concept. And okay, he was stubborn on the corporate retreat challenge. But aside from that, he's been pretty good. You took away our Brent. Don't take Lenny too!
Anyway, Tarek and Lee took an elevator ride of awkwardness back up to the suite Dan hopped into his cab and reflected on the whole experience. He said that he was looking forward to seeing his boys again and then suddenly a demonic expression came over his face as he said, "Daddy's coming home, and I'm going to be EATIN' YOU UP!!!" Ahhh! Scary! Automatic nightmares! I guarantee that every single child watching the show immediately burst into tears and hid under a table.
What did you think? Did Trump fire the right person?

Hopefully Lenny will get a change to be PM before he's fired. That would be the most awesome episode of Apprentice yet.
I'm glad Tarek didn't get fired, because we share the same name (except spelled a little different). Although he isn't representing too well.
I still think Gold Rush's commercial was 10x better than Synergy's

Right off the bat I have to say that I only started watching this show because I was reading yor recaps and they made me laugh so hard that I had to tune in to see what I was missing. Thanks, B-side! Your words just make my day.
On another note, what's up with Bill? He started out cute, but he's looking pretty ragged these days. Drawn, grey visage. Sunken eyes. Hollow cheeks. Very Grim Reaper-esque. Not a ringing endorsement for being a Trump employee.
I loved the Donald's rat-a-tat-tat all over Tarek in the boardroom. I can't wait until Tarek gets fired. He's such a pain in the ass. But I think I hate Andrea more. Yuck!

The classic peek-a-boo stall shot is highly "underrated". Does anyone need further proof that the cameraman is a pervert and was probably convicted of hiding cameras in the ladies shower stalls at Bally's.
I love to see Tariq sweat, tweak and overall break under pressure in the boardroom.
Lenny is the funniest reality show contestant EVA.

Great recap B-Side, thanks!
That bagel shot when everybody realized Brent was gone forever was funny. I hope he already had his ration of 4 bagels that day.
Andrea is definitely getting on my last nerve. She can't even handle the most gentle criticism, how is SHE going to work for Trump. Bitch. I'm pretty sure I saw her make a poo face when the NCL folks announced her team won.
Oh and the bathroom shot of the girls pissing... It seemed like the cameraman was gonna stay out but then he couldn't resist away from the sound of pee and went in anyways. Perverted much?

lenny could have mitigated his concept failure by bringing up, in the boardroom, the fact that he was adamantly against the text idea which is what sunk the ad more than the castaway concept anyway.

B-Side, I thought you might have mentioned the shot of the castaway's watch...Forget needing food and drink after being shipwrecked, no one is really rescued until you've taken their watch and freed them from them constraints of time...
I thought Andrea was impressive on the retreat task, but since then, she's been anything but. Come on, babe, get thicker skin (stop crying in bathrooms and sulking when your feelings get hurt) or get out of the sandbox!
Roxanne for Final Two! Finally, a very competent black woman!!

I can't believe I missed the bathroom stall bit(I must have been downstairs). Well, that's now 2 reality shows with audio cues of going #1. The previous one was last season's Big Brother after an elimination where one went to the bathroom without taking/turning off his mic. I think that's on here somewhere.
Aw no quicktime file of the 2 ladies? giggity go!

I think Roxanne did great given the short timeline to complete the task and I really hope she doesn't choke or 'quit' on her team like Marshawn did last season.

Awesome f-ing recap! Although I wished you would've mentioned Andrea's annoyed look when she was talking & the ships horn blew. She probably wasn't "insulted" by it, just "surprised!"
You know, I'm not a member of Mensa & I don't own a sticker company, but even I know using text instead of voice overs was wrong, and the idea of the couple looking bored meant not telling them to look happy!!
I would wet my pants & die a happy person if just once Lenny would say, "This is how we do it on Russian Space Station!!"
Speaking of which, WTF with the camera in the ladies room? Would they show 2 of the guys draining it at the urinals??!! Don't think so!

Instead of having the teams create commercials, the challenge should have been to rename the concept. "Freestyle cruising?" At the very least, it sounds more relevant to a spring break company than a luxury cruise liner. Besides, as I mentioned last time, all of these challenges have become so advertising and marketing related, I don't see how they qualify the contestants to work for Trump. Donnie Deutsch, maybe, but not Trump.

There was also a reality pee on Survivor with Bobby Job and some other dork and then they shook hands afterwards.

So freestyle cruising = eat when you want? Man, if there were ever a challenge when having Brent around would have helped. He (and his bagels) could have been a star.
And I clearly need to learn the difference between Orlando Bloom and Orlando Jones because for a while there I was thinking Tarek looked nothing at all like him.

Tarek seriously dodged a bullet on that one. I though for sure he was going to get fried. For someone who is supposed to be a genius he sure is an idiot.... then again, most genius types tend to be that way anyway. He won't last long.
I thought that Trump liked Lenny until the boardroom when he said that he didn't have much longer to go. That kind of surprized me. I loved the look on Lenny's face though when Dan decided not to take him in the boardroom. He was actually disappointed. It's as if he was looking for a good fight. He really cracks me up.

You'd think that after both Charmaine and Lee defended Lenny by mentioning that he pushed for a voiceover, Trump would have moved on to another target, because generally, "good suggestion" cancels out "halfass idea."
I think Trump really wanted Lenny to come back to the boardroom just so both of them could rag on Tarek some more.

Let's see, the whole premise of this episode was to listen to you're people. Right? Ok, greenskeeper aka. caroline told trump she thought lenny should go and Bill suggested Tarek so what does Trump do? Of course listening to the advise of his people? He fires Dan. Brilliant!!!! No hipocrasy there.
Why is Lenny suddenly on Trumps bad side?
Memo to greenskeeper aka Caroline if the person you felt led to the losing teams demise is not in the boardroom then maybe you should pick someone who is to focus on. Lenny wasn't even in the room and she kept going on about how it was his fault they lost.
I wonder if Trump was on his own show how long he would last with himself. I think he should fire Caroline.
BTW, what happened to all of the other winners from the past shows? What kind of jobs do they have? Other than Bill and a few cameos they don't seem want to show what the contestants are fighting for in the first place.

Yota - lol all good points. I agree. This whole episode was very confusing. That would be funny if he did look at his show and what wasn't working for him and cleaned house. I wouldn't mind seeing the ever bittering Caroline hit the grass or road. In the beginning she was fun and a nice balance, but she's gotten nasty and real bitchy and seems to harp on insignificant points. I'm hoping that Bill will write a tell all book about the whole "donald experience" - because being on a show and then writing about it is a 5 BILLION DOLLAR A YEAR INDUSTRY!! LOL..
Also did anyone notice Lenny's smart ass comment when Trump was grilling Terek about his MENSA credentials? Something like "anyone can take a MENSA test on the internet for like $16 dollars". - Laugh my ass off! Go LENNY!!!

The whole thing with the girls in the bathroom was downright crass and moronic. The cameraman was a moron for following them in, and the girls were morons for acting like they have cameras in their bathrooms every day! (Well, maybe they do...)
And that skank Andrea...did anyone else notice her reaction as she's talking to the camera and the ship's horn sounds? It seemed childish, which fits her perfectly.
Most of the people this season are buffoons. Obviously the network is choosing contestants for their "entertainment" value, not as prospective Trump employees. Hell, I wouldn't hire them at a freaking Whataburger! (OK, I'm starting to get all Toral.)

alli (#6) I agree -- how weird was the shot of the ship's staff removing the castaway's watch, with no matching shot of him receiving something better in return? Just what are you trying to say here? "Travel with our cruise line and get mugged"?
I think the castaway idea was good, but so poorly executed that it failed. No voice-over? Sheesh, don't these guys watch this show? Wasn't that one team's undoing on a previous season?
Firecat (#1) I'm with you -- the main reason I am watching this show is to see Lenny pilot the ultimate blimp (project), put Andrea in her place and hopefully cream the opposition.
hella funny recap, b -- thanx.

I think this episode was one of the weaker ones of the season but I still enjoyed it. I don't think either of the team leaders overly impressed me this week although I did appreciate how Roxanne confronted her team of Andrea and HER cohorts. Andrea, is it too hard to show someone else some respect?!?
She was totally offended by what Roxanne said in the boardroom. Did Roxanne ever mention Andrea's name and say she sucked as a project manager? No, she didn't; she simply preferred one leadership style to another. Andrea is such a bitch. Her aside about how Roxanne could not work with Trump because she gets her feathers ruffled too easily was so hypocritical. Andrea couldn't wait for Roxanne to walk away so that she could step into the director's shoes for even a lousy thirty seconds. Andrea, I don't care about you lame-ass sticker company. Whoopie.
Sean's smile while wearing that scarf is disturbing.
The bathroom scene was unnecessary unless they only used it because that was the only place the two ladies spoke up about what they thought of their ineffectual leader. Cruise ship toilets do have a lot of power in them . . . NEVER flush while on them because they are kind of scary.
Lenny was criticized for his poor idea; but I don't remember anybody else offering up a single thing. That has happened before on seasons past and the person with the idea never got as much slack as Lenny did over this one.
Why would Lee have been brought back to the boardroom? What a stupid move. Dan was a poor leader and made terrible decisions. Yes, his final comment in the limo home made me cringe. What the?!

I too was a little confused by this episode and only through the recap really understand what was going on. I didn't get what bug crawled up Andrea's butt and died. Why was she being such a witch to Roxanne? It seemed like she was sabotaging the effort and I definitely saw her make a poo face when the execs announced Synergy was the winner. The countdown to Andrea's firing begins NOW! Right after Tarek's I hope.
And why didn't we get to see the $30K in diamonds that Synergy won? Instead all we saw was the team play butterfingers. I was hoping Roxanne would take the lion's share of the diamonds and tell the rest of the team, esp Andrea and Tammy, to suck it since they weren't that supportive.

I'm getting so effin sick of these "marketing a sponsor" tasks. Beyond the repetition, the fact that they'd never be responsible for this shit in an actual job, and because the results inevitably are painfully amateurish at best. The tv ads usually are barely even fit for the late night local slot.
Anyway, the castaway idea was just bad. As someone elsewhere said, probably it's not the best idea to refer to shipwrecks to sell cruises. And the watch was just baffling. Would've just been better to show the other stuff, with a variety of passengers, and have a catchy voiceover explaining the "freestyle" concept! Original? Not in the least, but 95% of ads aren't. The main goal should be to just to best present the product.
Dan's first clue should've been that LENNY came up with the idea. Lenny is the man, but creativity is definitly not his strong suit. Not that Lenny deserved any of the heat that was coming his way from Trump and Carolyn. Nor should Dan have been criticized for choosing not to blame Lenny for an idea he gave the go ahead to. Seriously WTF???!!!!
Andrea is just about evil incarnate. I could catch during that car show challenge that any civility was clearly a strain, even though she was being edited to look good. The eye-rolling and muttering in the boardroom was a big mistake. Only drew attention to herself. And Roxanne was awesome to stand up to her sabotaging and mutizinizing.
Bitch is going down.

I'd bet the rent that if Tarek looked like Brent, he'd be gone now. There have been studies on attractiveness and success in life.
Oooh, was I pissed that Synergy won this week. After their horrifying treatment of Brent finally got him fired, not only do they win, but they get the best reward yet? Nice lesson to learn there.

What's The 400 Blows?
These people are fools.
What was up with Bill Rancic's chastising look and shaking of the head at Roxanne while she was taking her phone call? I thought for sure her team would lose then.
And not since Paula Abdul appeared on Dr. Phil's special have I wanted to reach through my tv and smack someone as hard as I wanted to Andrea. What an immature bitch...

I wonder what a bad equivalent would be if they were doing a commercial for Airlines. Hey, I know! Let's have a few cast members from Lost advertise a new airline service to Australia!

At one point, during the editing of the commercial, I thought I heard Lenny ask what Tarek was smoking, but I may have misunderstood.
If Lenny had been brought into the boardroom, I certainly hope he would not have been fired, and that Trump was only bluffing. I think that Trump wanted him in there (as draw said) so that they could gang up on Tarek.
Lenny threw out the castaway idea during the brainstorming session. It was the only idea they had, and Dan went with it. The text in the commercial was a big mistake, and Lenny himself was the one who mentioned that it was a bad idea. At least Dan didn't bring Lenny back into the boardroom. Tarek should have been the one fired.
Like mangos said, Trump may have just said that "Lenny doesn't have long to go," so he may be PM next.

I also heard Lenny ask what Tarak was smoking. Oh Lenny, you so funny.
I have to give props to Dan for saying that Lenny didn't deserve to be in the boardroom because of the castaway idea since they all agreed to it. (Of couse he was also scared of Lenny but still...).
I loved the fact that Dan took Tarak into the board room since the text was a bad idea but Tarak seemed so shocked. Tarak's "zero friends in the boardroom" speech sounded like a threat to me but I guess Dan didn't see it that way.
As much as I would have loved seeing Tarak fired, it was much more fair to fire Dan as he was the PM and greenlighted all the bad ideas. In fact that's what should happen in the boardroom every time- you know, the buck stops here mentality. But that would mean the Donald was a good businessman instead of the soul selling devil's minion he actually is. And, obviously, it would make the show predictable.
Wanted Roxanne to stick it to Andrea with a "you were PM and we lost but I was PM and we won" speech but she opted to be mature. So not reality show behavior.
Can't wait for Lenny's turn as PM. That should be "awesome".

MANdrea is totally unmanageable. She is unprofessional, divisive, and tries to intimidate and bully people to do what she wants. She's like the captain of an Evil, Pre-Op Tranny Cheerleader Cult.
I think Roxanne should have dismissed her from the shoot, she clearly tried to undermine and undercut her PM. Can you imagine taking your team in for a major presentation, and having the hideous goof-ball, with the bad dye job, smirking and rolling her eyes? Holy Tourette's Syndrome...
I wanted Lenny to come into the boardroom, so he and Trump could start laughing at Tarek again. I think Lenny would have definitely come out of that one OK, and Tarek would have been OUT!
Lee reminds me of Pee Wee Herman, do you think he jerks off in the bathroom while "Big Lenny" is in the shower (humming "I ride wimp!)?

Roxanne and Lenny for final two!!! FIRE TAREK AND ANDREA!!! I am sad to say that Andrea and I share the same name. (My first name, but I go by Georgia, my second) And thank heavens for Roxanne. I am so glad that Andrea has finally had a (little) taste of what is (hopefully) yet to come. She is so full of herself. I totally wish that Lenny had pushed her off the cruise ship.
P.S. What was with Trump's comment about Lenny? I love Lenny and his smart-ass remarks. Not to mention his super accent. I was a little annoyed at him for not sticking up for himself though, and saying that he suggested having a voiceover instead of text. I believe that Lee kind of mentioned it in the final boardroom, but Trump was too busy bashing Tarek to pay attention.
