Moving Timeslots is a THIRTY BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY! - TVgasm

by B-side

apprenticebus

NBC has been loathe to promote this, but tonight's Deal or No Deal is two hours long, which means that our dear, lovable Apprentice will be airing at 10 PM. No word on whether or not this is a permanent change, but chances are the network brass wanted to move its ailing (yet still totally worth watching) reality show away from the double-headed monster that is 24 and the NCAA Championship Game. So take note, fellow Trump fans. Apprentice is an hour later tonight (two hours, if you forgot to set your clock forward this weekend, jerk).

So I can watch a double-24 & The Apprentice tonight? Sweet.

You seem to enjoy your new 'short bus' image map. Is the bus now the universal symbol for a timeslot change?

Aroo?

"24" is only one hour tonight, right?

Is there that much of an outcry for 2 hours of Howie Mandel ?

What?!?! I've been watching tv all day and not seen one mention of this!

I just want to say that timeslots and ratings really have no bearing in the new world of TIVO!!!! I don't care when a show comes on...I set the TIVO for a season pass and watch when I want to. Don't most people?

Those dinosaur TV executives seem oblivious of the effect of TIVO on the viewing patterns of their clients! Do they actually think they’re creating a “Sophie’s Choice” by moving a program into the same time slot as a successful competitor? They should focus their efforts on pinching out better content, and the market will reward them.
