Where Are Those Damn Recaps? - TVgasm

by B-side

As readers of my Amazing Race recap know, I am in New York, beholden to a crappy laptop with dial-up access. The bad news -- this has severely hindered my ability to be a faithful blogger. The good news -- I return to the hi-tech ways of Los Angeles tonight. So for all you people stuck at work waiting for an Apprentice or Survivor recap, just know that we haven't forgotten about you.

And if you're still anxious, feel free to create your own snark with the Snark-O-Tron (and post your funny results in the Snark-O-Tron thread of the forums).

B-Side, come back to Cali, we miss you terribly! I just don't know what to think about Survivor without your opinion.

I do. Janu sucks. Her behavior at Tribal Council made me want to wretch. Someone with heart could have played this game in her place. Didn't they send two people home right off the bat this season? Either one of them would have been better than her clinically depressed nonsense. WTF was that?

I've been pulling for Tom and if Janu's crap leads to Stephenie couping Tom...

Actually, I saw Janu's move as a power play. She saw Coby as undeserving of being evicted before her or Stephanie. She didn't like the way the rest fo the tribe were "playing the game" and this was an opportunity to affect the outcome. Even if she survived, would she have lasted past next week's show?

I can only hope that Steph's coup really does work. I think that Tom's betrayal is awful. So what if stupid Greg and waste-of-space Jen want Steph gone. They're not going to win anyway (and they know it)! Tom should stick to his original alliance and keep Steph in the game.

I've been dying to hear about Alex's outfits on last week's Apprentice. There was nothing metrosexual about those!

Bruno, I wouldn't call Janu's move a "power play." Everything she said at the time was about how miserable she was at camp and how she got "what she needed" out of the experience and saw no reason to keep going. She knew she couldn't win and thus convinced herself that she was only in it for some spiritual experience that was bigger than winning the money. That gave her a plausible-sounding excuse to quit, which she clearly wanted to do for a long time, and it insulated her from having to think, even to herself, about being disappointed over having no real shot at the money and being such a weak player all along. If she intended to make a power play, she would have done it, not been pushed into it by emotion at tribal council. Her quitting was more the result of Jeff's prompting than Janu's own thinking; she wasn't analyzing game situations and figuring out how to shift power in the game, she was reacting to her physical and emotional state and giving in to her longstanding desire to get out.

well thats because there is NOTHING metrosexual about alex. period!

but what i really care about is to hear some theories as to whether or not trey slept with that girl on the OC.

despite the fact that she definitely sucks, janu's nuttiness was funny. i would rather see more of her dancing alone in the dark than look at katie for another episode (unless she's going to smash into things some more). i hope stephenie wins immunity this week and then convinces everyone to vote out tom to get even with him.

Ashes...I highly suggest you read the following article:

Her negative reaction to Coby's ouster was evident. Her desire to be on the jury, as well as her final statement, indicates she wasn't as desperate to get out of the game as you might think.

hey funny, your flight landed last night (i didnt hear of any crashed on the news) and still no apprentice recap.

AWESOME.

Bruno, you are relying on how Janu is characterizing what she did. Of course she doesn't want to characterize it as quitting, wimping out, being weak, being a poor player, or anything else that makes it sound like she has full responsibility for her own problems. My point is that, no matter what she now says, she talked about quitting weeks ago, well before Coby was gone. She's been miserable and angry for a long time. She may have wanted to quit but still be on the jury more than she wanted to quit and not be on the jury, but she wanted out of the active part of the game and she wanted to do it in a way that made it look like she wasn't just quitting because she was weak and a bad player all along.
