666 Park Avenue Recap: See you in Hell

Jane is still in the hospital, but she wants to go home. Henry says maybe it’s for the best that she stay, without adding that he thinks she’s batshit. Henry just says he wants her to regain her memory and then he not so subtly asks if Jane told the doctors that her grandma was mentally ill. Jane maintains that she is NOT crazy.

A Nurse Potter comes in dressed in an old-fashioned nurse’s uniform that no nurse has worn since Luke raped Laura on General Hospital.

Audrey Hardy would like her uniform back

She tries to take Jane’s blood pressure, but Jane freaks the fuck out when the nurse tries to put the cuff on her. Jane is having a flashback about being handcuffed and hears a voice – a man’s voice this time – saying “you shouldn’t have come here.” She is going absolutely nutso and has to be restrained and sedated. Henry watches all this from a window in the hallway.

Nona comes to visit Jane and runs into Cooper, who is lurking in the waiting room. They talk about how Jane can’t remember anything and they have no idea what happened to her. Cooper says he will be talking to Jane soon if Nona has any messages to pass on. She doesn’t, but she does have an envelope for him to give to Jane.

Nurse Potter is talking to a colleague about how Jane freaked out over the blood pressure cuff and she notes that she had another patient who similarly went crazy when she tried to put a tourniquet on him to take blood about a month ago. He kept ranting about a spiral staircase and he was found wandering the streets, just like Jane. Of course Nurse Potter is saying all of this in Jane’s room – hello, HIPAA violation – and Jane hears it through her fog. Nurse Potter is also considerate enough to mention that the guy’s name was Julian Waters and he is in D wing.

Brian comes homes with groceries for his and Louise’s romantic reunion dinner. Of course Alexis is there, telling Louise her “boy” troubles. Louise tells Brian that Alexis is involved with a married man. Brian’s all “fuuuuuuuuck,” but he just says, “Oh?” Alexis – that crazy ho – is saying that she doesn’t feel bad for the married man’s wife because she’s a “bitch” with “serious baggage.” She says she and the guy were meant to be together and she knew that from the moment they met. She adds that he needs her even if he doesn’t know it yet. Brian is listening to all this from the other room and dropping groceries all over the place.

Cooper interviews Jane. She really wants to get back to the Drake to retrace her steps and figure out what the hell happened to her. She says she heard there was someone else in the hospital named Julian Waters in the D wing who is in the same condition. Maybe he knows what happened. Only one problem: the D wing is the high security ward for violent patients. Oh well. Cooper gives Jane the envelope from Nona, which contains her grandma’s necklace that also formed the eye of the dragon and the picture of Jane at the Drake as an eight-year-old. Cooper and Jane hug just as Henry walks in to see them.

Legitimately, I’m sad about the show being cancelled. I do like it, and it was good to see John Locke and Vanessa Williams. I also think Nona is mad pretty. I bet they are so sad that the show is over.

But it’s for the best….a heroine as stupid as Jane could never hope to survive much longer anyway. And Henry is too boring to pull off the heartbroken or revenge-obsessed lover thing.

That’s a good question about Maris. If it had been me, when the staircase opened, I would have been like….actually, let’s go check with Maris about this and then we can come back.
No way in hell would I let someone I called a friend just enter a crazy ass hidden staircase in the bottom of a demon building.
    Hence, Nona secretly hates Jane.
That’s okay, Nons. We all hate Jane.

I was disappointed in Shaw for falling for Gavin’s old tricks so easily.
I know his brain was rattled, but he really didn’t think that his estranged/dead father came back from the dead just to tell him to do what Gavin wants did he? So dumb.

And Alexis, Brian, and Louise need to wrap up their love triangle already. I’m really tired of them going back and forth. Their little arc should have been three or four episodes at most.

I’m boycotting ABC… they keep dancing w/ the stars on forever and a day, but cancel decent shows like 666 Park Ave… the show had promise, especially if they killed off Jane and Henry and replaced them with better characters. It has enough intrigue to keep me coming back for more, and enough stupidity (aka Jane) to have me talk to my TV like she can hear me.
I also liked GCB, and that was cancelled last year… DAMN YOU ABC!

I like this show and I’m sad it’s been cancelled. It did feel really flat at times, but it had so much potential. There’s so many things building up, and so many directions they can go with them.

I feel the same way, but I have to ask: Is it any surprise that this show has met the same fate that every previous show in that time slot on Sunday night the past few seasons has met? The only bedeviled thing about 666 Park Avenue is the time slot!

I’m disappointed that the show is cancelled as well. I agree that the show could have potential if they had killed off Jane and Henry and brought in more life-like characters to replace them (that would have been easy to do, since the show is really about the building and not them). I love Vanessa Williams and Terry O’Quinn so I’m sad I won’t see the two of them together on my screen anymore. I won’t bother reading the recap since we won’t be getting the final 5, so what’s the point?

I loved this show and will miss it and your recaps. I’m surprised you didn’t stop recapping at the mid-season finale. The cliffhanger was really good.
