And then he opens his mouth.  PREACH IT, BURNELL!!!  I LOVE THIS GUY!  Also, the song lyrics are about self-respect and strength and my cold black heart actually melted a little thinking about this guy’s life and how he’s overcome the awfulness that was Katrina.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

Mariah seems to realize where she is.  She calls Burnell spectacular. and says he made her cry.  The Captain says he’s what they came for.  Randy says Burnell has an amazing voice, and Keith says there’s a spotlight waiting for him.

Of course, Burnell gets a golden ticket.  YAY!

Then we see a few folks screaming cause they’re going to Hollywood, where all their hopes and dreams will be crushed, they’ll become smack addicts, and end up on the streets doing $2 hand jobs to scrounge enough money for the McDonald’s dollar menu.  Lots to look forward to!

That brings us to the end of our episode.  As they say in the bayou, adieu – me gotta go!

Next week, Idol is in Texas and Long Beach.  One of my fellow recappers will be here to cover all the excitement!  I’ll be back soon!

Penny, fine job as always!!! This season seems to be a snore; thankfully there’s you to give me reason to even be interested.

    Keep up the good snark…..
