Best Ink Recap: The King of Ink

Before judging begins the artists all wonder who the guest judge will be and all of them agree it likely won’t be a Jackson family member. At least they realize how low budget they are! Charlie thinks it will be a back up dancer or a heavily influenced artist. Someone mentions that Blanket will be the guest judge. Oh and during commercial break there was a preview for The Glee Project and let me be the first to say that the blonde girl who can walk looks like a power bitch and I’m a little frightened of her. Anyway back from break and the guest judge is…AHAAHAHAHAHA JERMAINE JACKSON! This greasy ass opportunistic bitch..SMH!

HAHAAAAH omg…

London looks surprised at the guest judge and I don’t know why. Jermaine has been mooching off of MJ’s death since before he was buried! Anyway judging begins and just so I don’t have to keep saying it but Jermaine says he likes all the pieces and it captured the essence of MJ. For London, Sabina says that the hands on the glove look the same length and the halo looks more round than oval. Joe says that he likes the color scheme but unless you are told, you won’t readily get the religious aspects of the sacred heart (microphone) and the halo (golden record). Jon’s piece is not received very well because no one understands why MJ is a zombie although if you REALLY think about it, it’s pretty hilarious…Anyway Joe loved the lettering and technically the piece is impeccable. Everyone liked Alexis’ piece but Joe felt that she could have used brighter background colors and some blue to really make the piece pop. Charlie’s piece is not as well received and Sabina points out that the proportions are off. Charlie tries to say that she copied her reference exactly but Joe tells her that by doing that you have artistic license to make it better. Jermaine does make a good point that Charlie’s execution of the socks wasn’t great and she should have added more sparkle to them. She tries to counter that she wanted a more abstract approach…god shut up Jessica!

Ink Challenge
Michael Jackson Tribute Tattoo

London

Jon

Charlie

Alexis

The judges do a final deliberation and they all agree it was solid except Sabina who says that the client specifically asked for the glitter glove and he didn’t include it. Joe says that it is the best technical tattoo of the group but the skull through everyone off. Alexis’ piece was unique and Sabina really enjoyed it but Joe says it was just shy of greatness. Charlie’s piece reminded Sabina of her previous turtle piece and Jermaine says that she should have done it in MJ’s colors of black and red. Joe says that her artistic and technical abilities haven’t caught up with each other. London’s piece was lacking details and the crease in his thumb went back too far. Jermaine felt that the gun should have been the head piece versus the microphone.

Jermaine looks interested.

Since there are only 4 left they are all called forward and London is announced as the winner even though Jon did a MUCH better job. Look the client wanted the skull and he was technically sound while London’s piece looked terrible. How do you put that much color on a dude with all black and white tats? Like I said I think that London is being set up as the winner (side note remember how he said he wanted to win to pay for the wedding…guess who is married). Alexis is still in because her piece was laid out well and it’s down to Jon and Charlie. Jon is still in and Charlie is out, bye frumptastic!

You overstayed your welcome.

I really liked Alexis’ piece, it was awesome. I was getting mad at Joe harping at Jon for doing MJ as a skull. That’s what his client wanted!! What was Jon supposed to do?
I wouldn’t mind London winning, I like his work. Thank God Charlie finally is out of there, she was getting so annoying and if the words “I’m an artist” came out of her mouth I would swear that Jessica was possessing her. I guess with Jessica being there and with how annoying she was, I didn’t notice what a whiney crybaby Charlie actually is.

asby – It can happen! :)

featherhead – I noticed it but Jessica overshadowed her so much it wasn’t worth mentioning. I finally started calling her Charlie Brown when it got a little bad. She’s a decent artist but her personality I can’t stand. I’m just glad this amateur hour is almost over…even though I would totally recap a second season of this for shits and giggles.

I really need to know who at Oxygen thought it would be a good idea to get Jermaine Jackson to judge. Jermaine, who was the most jealous of Michael out of all the siblings. Jermaine, who talked shit about Michael at every single chance he could get. And that’s the one they picked. And you could tell that Jermaine didn’t give a shit about Michael, because every image or song referenced in the tattoos was conveniently his favorite. When everything is your favorite, that means you don’t really like anything.
And when Kimberly was introducing him, I was dyinggg because she was going on about his Grammys and his being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but she didn’t mention that it the Jackson 5 who got those things, NOT Jermaine. And it was Michael who carried them there. And Michael also got Grammys and a spot in the R&R Hall of Fame on his own, while Jermaine got bupkis but the laughter of millions for his solo efforts. Ahahahahahaha Jermaine’s soul burns everyday because of Michael, and my soul sits beside the flames roasting marshmallows and warming itself.

About the tattoos, I liked London’s. A little too colorful and the microphone was wack, but I thought it looked good. And since the girl asked for a skeleton Michael but not for a specific song reference, I wonder why John didn’t compromise with a Thriller theme. That would have been easier to defend to the judges as well. Charlie’s was terrible and she’s annoying. I also wish she would tattoo with a little more…impact. She tends towards softness and that’s all well and good, but she should learn to get some boldness in there.

Jessica, tell the truth and shame the devil girl. It’s more embarrassing to lie about being awesome than it is to just admit that you suck and no one wants your art on their bodies.

Haha, I looked up some “Porcelain Black” music, talk about AWFUL…like an Auto-tuned blow-up doll badly impersonating Britney Spears over generic mid-90s synth. Stripper couture? LOL.

And I can’t stay interested in this show for an entire episode, it really is a bad “Ink Master” ripoff.

Man…I thought the MJ skull kicked so much ass. It was great! I don’t see what the big deal was…..I’ve seen tattoos of skull kittens! Skull bowties! Skull fish, skull patsy cline…and all kinds of other shit that doesn’t make sense but skull MJ is somehow off limits …..even though he was a freaking zombie in Thriller nearly 30 years ago. Ooooohkay
The more I look at Londons tatt, The more it looks like Elvis.
Charlie’s was just bad and I’m glad she’s gone
Oh yeah….totally looked up Porcelin Black too..what a joke she is. I lived in Detroit and I never heard of her
