Big Brother Recap: The Great Fruit Loop Rebellion

Willie calls a Team Janelle/Britney meeting up in the HoH room, and they pack all 50 members of their alliance into this small room. Honestly, this is the biggest alliance ever. It’s destined to fail immediately. Wil says he wants to keep Frank, because he’s a “better ally.” Britney agrees they should keep Frank, because then they only have to get rid of Danielle and then Dan will leave the game as well (when was this made clear to us? How do we know that Dan won’t join the game as a player once he loses all his teammates?). She says Dan is the most dangerous guy in the house because “when he talks to you, you hear an angel chorus,” and she says Kara is just playing like a robot, doing whatever Dan wants her to do.

Later in the yard, Janelle talks with Dan and tells him the group is voting to get rid of Kara. She’s trying to make sure that he’s okay with her still, which is a pretty dumb thing to do in front of everybody else. Of course, since she’s doing this in the open, Britney sees and knows what she’s up to.

The giant hat functions like bat ears, allowing her to hear all conversations in the house.

Continuing on the Britney-figuring-things-out train, she notices the pictures of the coaches on the memory wall also have keys next to them, which leads her to believe that the coaches will eventually start playing the game for themselves. Pretty big oversight by Big Brother to not realize they were giving up their big twist by doing that, right? Again: this show is clearly run by a team of interns.

She talks to Willie alone upstairs and tells him her theory. She points out that there are only 11 people left in the game, but there are 13 weeks. She also tells him that Janelle is cozying up to Dan, because she thinks Janelle has figured out the same thing and is already playing an individual game. In the Diary Room, Willie says this “changes everything” and declares, “I am nobody’s pawn,” effectively cutting himself loose from any coaching.

Okay, let’s talk about what the hell Britney is thinking here. On the surface, this looks like a pretty insane thing to do, because now she’s lost control of the biggest player on her team, and she’s about to unleash chaos on the house. But if you think about it, maybe she’s already playing the individual game, too? I mean, out of the four coaches, Britney is by FAR the smallest threat. So even if Willie isn’t paying attention to her coaching anymore, he’s still ostensibly going to be knocking out the other three coaches’ largest allies (which is what she’d be coaching him to do, anyway), on the chance that the coaches will enter the game. So even if there is mass chaos, she and her team should still be relatively safe from Willie’s madness. She just increased the targets significantly on Janelle, Dan, and Boogie, as well as the people those three are closest two in the house. It could be quite brilliant.

I’m hearing that everyone is making it look like Willie is homophobic but that if you watched Big Brother Afterdark thats not the case. I’m not sure the whole Willie “talking” like Wil is that bad (I’m gay myself). I mean just ealier in the eposide he was jumping around with Wil. Believe me if someone is homophobic they would not be doing that and I dont get that vibe from Willie.

I’m sorry but Shane is creepy, there is just something off with him.

Julie…wow that outfit is horrible and I really hope you can blame it on someone else!

Im actually really likign Jo-Jo for some reason and wish they would show her more.

Actually, watching the feeds it was pretty crazy. Who was going home at any given time basically depended on who Ashley had spoken to last.

Did Russellv2.0 run in the bushes to cry (like Rachel) when he gave up that key to Stank?

Great comments on Grandpa Booger. So pathetic with those t-shirts.

Unless his “mockery” was heavily edited, I didn’t see it as homophobic at all. I thought he was only pointing out that Wil said he was tired of the game already and needed a 24-hour break (and how stupid of a comment it was to make in the BB house). I think he totally got thrown under the bus by almost everyone. He was actually trying to orchestrate something and then people started blabbing half truths. I really wanted Wil to get HOH, and I just hope that Willie doesn’t leave yet. :(

Based on what was aired, I didn’t think that Willie was making fun of Wil, either. Frank seemed to be over Willie’s BS (fighting to keep him in the house, despite nominating him) and found a convenient excuse to put some distance between them, while creating dissention with the others.

I can’t wait for the rest of the house to realize that Joe is the equivalent of last year’s Shelly. He’s an asshole that needs to tone down the screaming in the diary room.

I didn’t mind the gross display with Boogie and Frank, considering that Frank went from the outhouse to the penthouse over the course of the hour. I like Frank, but it seems to me his only real move this week is to nominate Danielle and Willie. You either eliminate Dan’s team (whatever the result of that may be) or you possibly eliminate your biggest threat. Plus, if you nominate Danielle, she has no ally that will use the POV on her.

Did anyone notice after Kara was eliminated how pissed Dan looked? How, as a coach, you pick the worst team when you have the 4th and 5th picks? Dan has no one to blame but himself and I don’t understand why he wouldn’t choose others. As I mentioned in other postings, I can’t wait to hear what Dan has to say about his awful choices and how those awful choices destroyed his chances for the $100K.

As much as the argument between Frank/Willie was, one of my more favorite arguments had to be Kristen/Rachel two seasons ago after the HOH competition in the boxing ring. The imagery, the yelling, it jelled so perfectly! I may have to Youtube that once I get home.

Joe isn’t just a screamer in the DR – he is one of those people who’s natural speaking voice is loud and crass. But you know he’s going to be a jackass the moment you see it – his hair, chinstripe and fashion announce it before he opens his yap. Did anyone else wonder why he was wearing his chef shirt for the live show? Somehow I think he mistakenly thinks he’s on Top Chef. He has the Top Chef fauxhawk.

I’m so torn about Frank winning HOH – as much as I love that it pisses Willie off, anything that makes Boogie happy is annoying. And I am so glad you commented on his shirt. How lame that this guy has an entire wardrobe of shout out shirts. He really truly is pathetic.

Oh yes, Jojo’s shaping up to be a great one — if only the show would let us see what she does. But I can already name three reasons why I like watching her. If that helps.

I’m pretty intolerant of intolerance. That said, Willie was in no way making fun of Wil for being gay, only for being an idiot with a voice ripped off from a John Waters movie.

The weirdest thing about Willie is his facial hair — it’s like it grows an inch every hour. So how come he shaves the rest of his body but not that?

It’s going to suck when the vets are released into the game. The only hope is if the new kids gang up against them. But I’m sure production will make sure that doesn’t happen.

A trend is developing in television of putting tweets at the bottom of the screen, and this annoys the crap out of me. It’s done constantly throughout Deadliest Catch and has caused me to quit that show altogether. It’s very distracting and the tweets are ALWAYS just mindless comments by random people such as “I love Captain Sig” and “I hope they catch a lot of crab.” At least Big Brother confined them to only certain short segments of the show, but I don’t like where this is headed.

Although I’m upset my beloved Dan is limping along team-wise, I was still happy to see Kara go. She was soooo boring. With Frank in the game it keeps things interesting. And Willie has only himself to blame for this mess, he should never have nominated him after their pact.

But no fear everyone – Willie isn’t going anywhere. The producers want him to be Russell Hantz 2.0 – reappearances are already booked for future BB’s, LOL.

I haven’t watched the load of crap known as “Big Brother” in about 10 years (geez, has this thing been on that long?), but after skimming through this recap, I may have to tune in. I can’t believe that the Chill Town (just writing that makes me cringe) co-douchebag Boogie is back trying to get on TV again. From the pictures, it looks like he’s morphed into the real version of the dancing little old man in those Six Flags commercials.

LOL Gilty – he IS that Six Flags guy!!

Oh and the reference to Chill Town North was about Boogie getting his coaches suite upstairs. Blecch… Chill Town references need to end.

itchy- they wouldn’t let Willie shave for continuity sakes, he has been complaining about how he wants to shave and if he didn’t want to shave he’d have gone on Survivor. lol

I’m usually reading the live feed updates but haven’t done much of that so far this year. So I don’t really know what the happenings are there, but I would think the coach twist would be that once a coach’s entire team is eliminated, the coach is then released into the game to play for him/herself. I think, based on the show, that the houseguests are thinking that if they get rid of the team, the coach goes home, so they will go after teams. When in reality it will have the opposite effect, which would probably make the game more interesting. It just seems so confusing to have all these twists year after year. I am longing for a season where it’s all new players and their personalities play out over the weeks, rather than being led into roles by producers machinations.

To add to what I said above, I think Dan probably suspected this was a possible twist from the start, which is why he chose a weak team. Based on that possible twist, it would be in the houseguest’s best interests to keep a team intact, because it would take that much longer for the coach to be released into individual play. And would force that coach to continue coaching their team and not concentrate on their own game. Does any of this make sense lol? My coffee hasn’t kicked in yet.

I’ve been thinking the same thing, RTVfan. Although I’d prefer it if the coaches left the game altogether and just the rest of the hamsters play the damn game.

@Itchy, @RTVfan; I think that you guys have a fair complaint if Dan, Janelle, Boogie, or Britney win this game. I kind of like the coaches twist, and the coaching competitions, but if the coaches do get back in the game and find a way to win, I will never want to see a returning player again, kind of like Survivor. If the coaches do come back in the game at Week 4, I hope Danielle is evicted this week so that Dan cannot get back in the game (although I think Chenbot and the Interns will find a way to keep him around).

My daughter asked “Why is Mr. Bean on Big Brother?” when she saw old man boogie. If his hair was darker, he really does look like him! Every time he speaks, STFU always seems to come out of my mouth! Willie is the classic HOH whose power went straight to his head and thought he was going to run this show until the end. It didn’t seem like he even considered he wasn’t going to be HOH after this week. BUT I would take this Hantz over the other any day on my TV.
