So, yeah. We all saw it coming and they telegraphed it all episode, but damn if they didn’t surprise me with how very sad Owen’s death would be. And I might not have as much sympathy for Margaret as I do for other characters who don’t have as much say in their fate as she did, but that was brutal. As Richard’s happy, now, this opens the door for him to assume Owen’s job since they made a point of having Richard tell Nucky that he didn’t bear any ill will toward him and Margaret, which won’t be good for his relationship with Julia. Gyp needs to die, but I don’t know if he will and, of course, poor Nelson’s just screwed five ways to Sunday.

    Oh, Owen in the box was heartbreaking! And I cannot take any more scenes with Gyp. I just can’t. I can actually feel myself getting tense when he’s on. Please, someone kill this crazy bastard.

    I must admit I didn’t think it would be Owen in the box. When we saw it I even told hubs I hoped there was a dead body in it. So sad it was Owen!!!! I think Nucky knows something was going on between M and O. He got this look if realization when she was sobbing.

    Seeing Gyp on my tv screen makes me nervous too, but I how crazy he is. He is completely different from all of the other gangsters/crooks on the show.

    I am loving the little references to the show’s opening–eg the liquor bottles floating in the water–in the episode’s opening and the show’s as well—
