Dallas Recap: The Demise of Not Marta

I’m going with either kidnapping or adoption.  Although the baby looks about 8 or 9 months old, so it wouldn’t have been given up for adoption at birth.  Either way, I foresee a private eye being hired to find the now grown up baby.

Well, we have another week down.  On the plus side, we didn’t end the show with another revelation about Rebecca!  Of course, what could be left – that she is actually a transvestite?  I can’t wait until next week’s show, so I will see you all then!

Great recap – just a small point, though. I believe Gary is Lucy’s father, not husband.

Somehow I missed that NotMarta was recording the whole exchange with John Ross. The scrapes are going to be the least of his problems!

enrique is correct (and so is his mole) that Lucy is John Ross’s cousin because she is the daughter of Gary and Val. She just looks old enough to be Gary’s wife. And when did Charlene Tilton’s acting get so over the top. I remember her as not being the greatest actress on the original Dallas but she was never this bad.

And is John Ross supposed to be this stupid? I mean he goes right up the NotMarta’s dead body in front of all the witnesses, rubs the scratches on his neck, looks all guilty and then speeds off in his flashy car. I don’t see how they are going to make this guy the next JR since at least JR was clever in any situation.

And will we be seeing more to Rebecca’s nosebleeds or was this supposed to be some new pregnancy detection technique? Is she going to die to leave Christopher to raise the babies alone and Elena helps him? What do you bet the twins are both boys so that in 20 years they can reboot this series again.

Haha I said the same thing about Ann getting a phone call from “bobby Ewing”! I mean I think the audience would know if it said “bobby”, he’s the main freakin character. The thing about twins which can make a pregnancy storyline more dramatic is that carrying multiples tends to have more complications with the delivery and labor etc…so more chance for drama there? Maybe?

Also, John Ross being taped in the room with Not Marta will probably help him in the long run because the tape would show her being pushed out the window, or whatever, by the other dudes.

Can they sex Ann up a bit? She wears the drabbest clothing!

My guess is that the young woman with the child in the park tha Ann was watching is Ann’s grown daughter that maybe she gave up (or around the same age), hence her crying and being so sympathetic towards Rebecca.

I so saw the plot arc, NotMarta is going to be killed and she’ll have John Ross’ DNA under her fingernails. Plus all the witnesses seeing him flee the scene.

I also didn’t realize one needed to apologize for throwing up in someone’s bathroom. On the rug or the furniture, yes, an apology is in order, but in the bathroom?

The lunch meeting between Elena and SueEllen was filled with so much lisping from awful veneers it was like they were trying to speak Parseltongue.

If Marta hadn’t been tossed off the building, I was sure that she was going to try and claim JohnRoss tried to rape her. But I like the building fall, it was more fitting for her character.

@wcsdancer – if you didn’t make a mess in my bathroom, you don’t need to apologize for puking in there. If there is even one drop still visible when you are done, not only are you apologizing, you are cleaning it up and mine too when I see it! :)

I’m glad that they seemed to make the show with the philosophy it was a “one and done” so the story lines seem to be speeding along. I hope the renewal doesn’t make them slow down in season 2.

And don’t forget, at the end of the show John Ross was taken away by the police, so this is going to get good! I knew when they focused so much on that couple at the hotel/apartment/wherever he was that someone was going to put two and two together. I wonder if Rebecca is Ann’s daughter? That could be interesting!

Does anyone else think that Marta committed suicide and made it look like Christopher did it? Wouldn’t that be the ultimate revenge? I wouldn’t put it past her cuz we all know she’s cray-cray. Also, we never actually saw the bad guys in her apartment.

I mean John Ross not Christopher.

My take – Rebecca and her what’s-his-name-brother (aren’t they twins?) are Ann’s grown children. This would explain Rebecca being pregnant with twins (isn’t it sort of hereditary?) and Ann’s support of Rebecca.

@Chicken Lips, I *always* clean up after myself after puking, especially at someone else’s house! True story. It’s uncouth not to!

Oooh! Never occurred to me that Rebecca and/or Tommy could be Ann’s!
