Storyline #5 – Del Sol Conservancy
The daughter of an old friend of J.R.’s (Marta) is trying to get Bobby to sell Southfork to the Conservancy. She is actually just transferring it to John Ross and J.R. In actuality, she is working with John Ross to actually screw J.R. out of everything. She isn’t even Marta Del Sol. J.R. goes to Mexico and meets the real Marta. He calls out John Ross and they decide to screw Bobby out of Southfork together.
Storyline #6 – Elena and Christopher
2 years ago, they were supposed to get married. The night before they were going to elope, Elena received an email from Christopher telling her he was calling everything off. Except, it turns out Christopher never sent the email. Elena assumes John Ross did, but it turns out Rebecca, Christopher’s new bride, is actually the one that sent the email. Christopher still has feelings for Elena, but is torn because he loves Rebecca and wants to do the right thing. Storyline #7 – Rebecca and Tommy These two are some kind of con artists. Tommy is pressuring Rebecca to spy on Christopher, but she is holding off. I believe she is actually in love with Christopher, but Tommy is out for himself. Tommy has been hired as a ranch hand and is trying to get closer to the family.
Storyline #8 – Attorney Lobell
He is working with John Ross to screw over Bobby, J.R. to screw over John Ross, and John Ross and J.R. to screw over Marta. They are looking for stuff to blackmail him with, but are coming up empty. He keeps trying to extort more money out of everyone. I see things ending badly for him.
Storyline #9 – Cliff Barnes
He randomly showed back up to try and buy Southfork. He’s still pissed at the Ewings. He tried to offer Christopher money and was turned down.
Storyline#10 – Welcome home JR
JR has his neighbor in the old folks home/loony bin call Bobby pretending to be JR’s doctor. Of course, Bobby doesn’t question it at all. The ‘doctor’ tells Bobby that JR needs to be at home to completely recover. Bobby, against everyone’s better judgment, welcomes JR back to the family home.
Now that we are caught up, let’s start on Episode 4!
We open with Christopher rolling around with someone. But wait – it’s not Rebecca! Turns out it is Elena. Just when we are all disgusted with cheating Christopher, he wakes up.
Does this count as a threesome?
Of course, with this show Elena could just be in the shower. Ever the golden boy, Christopher is riddled with guilt for his subconscious.
John Ross and JR are going over their takeover of Southfork and how Rebecca sent Elena the email two years ago. Prodded by JR, John Ross calls Rebecca. He tells her that he knows she sent the email and he needs to meet with her.
Meanwhile, JR is talking to his private investigator and finds out that NotMarta/Random Con Artist is batshit crazy.
Do I have to read all of this? Where’s the part that says she’s nuts?
They wisely plan to make her go Fatal Attraction on John Ross.
Christopher settles in to eat breakfast with Tommy when Elena shows up. There are longing looks, inadvertent touches and awkwardness all around. Tommy would have to be a complete idiot to not pick up on it. Rebecca, who seems blatantly nervous and rattled, causes Elena and Christopher to jump apart when she comes into the kitchen. She brushes it off and leaves, in a hurry to meet John Ross.
Nobody is buying this just friends shit
JR decides to go visit Sue Ellen at what I’m assuming is her work. There is a desk, but they never really touch on what the hell she does. JR tells her he found a pair of Miss Ellie’s pearls that he wanted her to have. I’m guessing he didn’t really care if Bobby wanted them for Ann. During their hate-filled exchange, Cliff shows up to take Sue Ellen to lunch. JR is none too pleased at this.
If you like it, spread it!:

Yes! I love this show – totally hooked – just as much if not more than the first time around! and Love even more that you are doing the recaps!! awesome! ty
Although I’m old as dirt, I never got into the original Dallas; however, the hawt boys in the new version caught my eye, and I am hooked! I recognize some of the oldies (like Cliff Barnes) but I have no idea what they have to do with the storyline or why there is bad blood between the families. Oh well, I just enjoy the pretty.
OT – I wonder who John Tucker had to bang to get this roll?
*role*
so excited you are recapping this show!!!! i love it and all i have to add is John Ross…YUM YUM YUM.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for recapping this! I grew up with the old version of Dallas and have been looking forward to the new shows, and my family knows not to bother me when it is on! I’m so excited that you are recapping this! Hot guys, drama, backstabbing, oh yeah!
J.R.’s scraggly, caterpillarlike eyebrows creep me the hell out.
