Mia’s mom, Leo, introduces herself to us and tells us she is a very dedicated mother. She is also a very dedicated eyeliner-applier.
Tammy Faye lives
She tells us she will do whatever she has to do for her daughter, whether that involves stepping up, not being here to make friends or throwing someone under the bus.
Angel tells Leo to go into the cage with the
jackals other moms, who are sitting there with the fakest of fake smiles plastered on their faces. Susan whispers “Be welcoming.” Ah yes, Susan is exactly who I’d want welcoming me into a group.
Meanwhile, Victor can’t stop gushing over Leo like a 12-year-old at a Bieber concert. He calls her a “skinny, beautiful blonde who is super-fabulous.” Okay, Andy Cohen. As for Mia, he says she is a winner and people are threatened by her. Maybe they wouldn’t be threatened if their dance coaches didn’t treat her like a cross between Kate Middleton and Lady Gaga. Victor says they brought Mia into the group because she represents the idea of celebrity and people either love her or hate her which is what all celebs go through. Wow, Victor is quite the wannabe, huh?
Abby interviews that she’s known Mia and Leo – MiaLeo? – for years (from her old studio) and that Mia has the “IT” factor and is very “special.” She says she wants to sit back with some popcorn and see if the other moms welcome Leo like they welcomed her. Ah, the hazee becomes the hazer – it’s the circle of life.
Leo walks in with her own fake smile and says “So this is the room…” Leo and the moms exchange some idle chit-chat, and then Bitchette asks if Mia will have a solo this week. Leo’s like “I have no idea.”
Ani is sitting there like she just found out her house burned down with all her pets in it. This is where I agree with one of the commenters, who said this was probably shown out of order. I think it’s possible that Ani already knew at this point that VictAng had added Mia to Lucas and Kimmy’s duet and that’s why she was so upset and in tears. Because otherwise, based on what they showed us, there is no reason for her to be so teary at this juncture. So she must have known that SOMETHING was going on.
I’m totally fine
Leo may be fabulous, but she sure can’t read body language that says “leave me the hell alone.” She keeps hectoring Ani as to why she’s so upset. Ani gets up to go outside and Bitchette of all people gets up to go with her. Ani interviews that it would break her heart if Kimmy were taken off the team and again, I don’t think she would be THAT upset if the prospect were purely theoretical. (I’m not saying that VictAng actually PLANNED to get rid of Kimmy, but I have no problem believing that they SAID something to that effect.)
Anyway, Ani sits down with Mayra and says she’s under the impression that someone may be kicked off the team to make room for Mia. Mayra tells Ani that Kimmy is amazing and she should have faith in her daughter. But that does not answer or even address Ani’s concern. Whatever, though, Mayra hugs Ani, pats her on the head and tells her to run along and play.
In the lounge, the moms are being eerily quiet. Leo says she’s known them for a long time and this is out of character. I’ve only known them for eight weeks and this is out of character. Leo interviews that the moms see her and Mia as threats. To the moms, she says that she’s here, her daughter’s here and don’t they have anything to say to her? No one does. I think this is probably because they know VictAng are sooooo in love with Mia and Leo and their Mean Girl antics won’t be tolerated.
