Previously: Hannah danced in a trio with Sammy and Jessi, and despite Susan’s carrying on, the world did not spin off its axis; Bitchette was a bitch and Abby and Sammy stormed out, possibly never to return.
We begin our day down one dancer and one mom in the form of Sammy and Abby, respectively. Bob says she texted Abby, but Abby did not respond. That’s so weird, because I’m sure Abby was dying to hear from her. Victor says the team needs to stick together in winning AND losing. I’m on the edge of my seat here. Could this be the one time in the history of Dance Moms that someone who threatened to leave for good has actually left for good?
VictAng say that last week’s behavior by both kids and moms was unacceptable. Yeah, but if everyone got along, the terrorists would win.
List time. The boys shake things up and start from the bottom this week. That actually makes more sense, suspense-wise. On the bottom we have Sammy. Like I said in the mini, Angel refuses to waste his saliva talking about her since she is not there. I’m sure he has much better things to do with his saliva, but I don’t want to know about them. Next and fourth is Hannah. She did okay last week, but as always, needs to improve her technique. Third is Lucas. His solo was amazing, but he threw Sammy under that damn bus.
Kimmy is second because she took the blame for something she didn’t do. Even so, VictAng say she needs to stand up for herself and find her voice. Well, she didn’t so much take the blame as not blame her mistake on someone else. Jessi is on top of the list because she did well despite having a batshit crazy mother.
This week’s trip is to Starbound in San Antonio. Jessi and Kimmy are doing a duet, but Susan is okay with it. She says Kimmy is younger, but she’s not a fat, no-talent loser like Hannah. Okay, she didn’t say that, but you know that’s what she was thinking. Lucas is getting a solo as a reward for getting first place last week. Hannah is also getting a solo and – who should come waltzing in but Sammy and Abby, stealing Hannah’s thunder yet again.
Is the audition for Cats?
Abby says they thought about it and realized they weren’t going to get on TV anywhere else, so they might as well come back to Stars. Victor’s like, “whatever, why are you late?” Abby says she wants to speak to VictAng privately. That doesn’t answer the question, but it seems to mollify VictAng and they go on handing out assignments.
Sammy’s not getting a solo, but she will be featured in the group number because she needs to learn how to be a team player. That makes perfect sense to me. She’s not a team player, so single her out for a special part.
The theme is “Abandoned” and Angel picked it because Abby and Sammy abandoned the team. Victor interviews that he thinks the group number will bring the dancers together as a family and that “you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” Apparently he’s wearing bright yellow in his interview to evoke Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi.
They paved paradise, put up a parking lot
Victor tells the kids that he wants them to realize how they would feel if Sammy did really leave them. I think Hannah, for one, would feel relieved.
Kimmy interviews that she thinks people feel abandoned when they don’t have enough food for lunch. Abandoned, hungry…whatever. I think poor Kimmy needs more sleep.
In the lounge, Bitchette offers a sarcastic “welcome back” to Abby.
And by “welcome back” I mean “burn in hell”
She interviews that it was disrespectful for them to storm out last week. Well, maybe if you didn’t call her kid a liar in front of everyone, she wouldn’t have stormed out.
