Mackenzie and her Killer Bee solo are next and she is so excited and cute.
You can tell she’s really into it. And her costume has a stinger! How freaking cute is that?!
Backstage, Chloe is up next and Christi tells her to dance for Nia and Kendall. Jabby says Chloe will either be great or a freaked out mess.
Chloe’s solo is called “Silence” and she’s amazing.
Now for the comic relief: the Candy Apple’s group dance.
It’s called “The Storm” and it’s just sad. I agree with all the commenters who’ve said the group looks ridic having 25-year-olds mixed in with Justice and Vivi. At least Vivi gets to run around in this one instead of sitting on a swing. The choreography (I think I’ve said this before) is very Dance Moms Miami and it’s just ugly.
In the green room, the girls get ready for the group and Kelly pulls out a picture of Paige from the photo shoot. Jabby says it’s great, but Paige shouldn’t be distracted. Then she further denigrates Paige by saying there are a million pretty girls in Hollywood and “pretty can go away quick. Right Kelly?” Honestly, if I were Kelly, I would have pulled out of there years ago if someone insulted me and my kids constantly. I seriously think Kelly needs a battered women’s support group or something.
Group number. Okay, I have to say it. I burst out laughing when Mackenzie flew out of the car. But otherwise, the number is really awesome and I love Maddie’s leopard dress. (How’s that for astute analysis?) This is the crazy ass kind of Dance Moms number that I know and love.
In the audience, Kelly is crying of course. She cries through this whole episode. I’m really starting to wonder if something serious is going on with her that they are not showing. Cathy wants to know if the car seat came off Christi’s front porch. Heh. But then she says the piece turned out absolutely brilliant. Wow, I didn’t see that coming. I wasn’t aware that Cathy had any lucid moments.
Awards. Mackenzie is first in the petite division and wins a title. Yay, Mack!
Brooke is first in the teen division and also wins a title. Go Brooke!
In the junior category, Justice comes in third. Maddie is second but separated from first by only a tiny margin. And in first place… Chloe! She wins a title too! Woo hoo!
Finally, the group number also wins first. So Jabby gets her clean sweep. Good job, girls.
Cathy interviews that there are few dances she’s thought about days later, but this one of Jabby’s was great. In the hall, she tells her coven that they’ve been robbed by ALDC before, but not this time. Of course Cathy true stripes are never really hidden, so she asks Kelly why Paige didn’t dance. Then she says something to Jabby about there being a McDonald’s hamburger with her name on it. Mmm, McDonald’s. Jabby says she hopes never to see Cathy again. At least until next season. Unless the rumors are true and Cathy’s not coming back. We’ll see, I guess.
