It’s the next day, and Kelly is back (of course). She interviews that she brought the girls back, but she is going to stay outside and work on the coshtumes so she doesn’t have to deal with Jabby. She asks Holly to take Brooke and Paige inside. Kelly says she’s there to show her girls that they can’t let their team down. To Christi, Kelly says it’s a good thing that they’re kids and they can easily forget this stuff and move on. Yeah, I’m sure this won’t come up in a group therapy session some day.
The moms work on the coshtumes outside, rubbing them in the dirt to “distress” and zombify them.
Holly is happy that Kelly and the girls are back and that the coshtumes are done! Good job, Dr. Holly.
It’s time for Maddie’s
therapy session private lesson.
You seem to have lost your head lately
Jabby interviews that Melissa can’t stand that Maddie isn’t the center of her attention these days. But she says she can’t do anything for Maddie because Maddie has to want to dance. To Maddie, Jabby says that Maddie needs to get her FIRE back, that she hasn’t been the same since Jersey.
Melissa is upstairs watching the whole thing and crying. She comes down and tells Jabby that Maddie LOVES to be there. Then she says that she (Melissa) “loves” Jabby, and when “those women” say mean things about her it “hurts my heart.” Maddie is mortified and leaves.
She interviews that she left because she was embarrassed. This is her first interview in which Maddie has seemed to me like a normal, likeable kid. (It’s not that I disliked her, I just usually felt mostly neutral about her.)
Melissa tells Jabby that the other moms are awful and their kids are disrespectful. Whoa – where did that come from?
And then there was that time that Christi keyed your car
Melissa continues ripping the others apart, saying that Chloe rolls her eyes in class and leaves early all the time. She says that Kelly even called her the other night to say that Christi took Chloe out of school early to go to the doctor, then – gasp! – took her to the movies. That’s the real reason Chloe wasn’t in class the other night.
Jabby’s just sitting there like “WTF?”
She tells Melissa not to worry about those “clueless broads.” Melissa says the other moms are jealous of her relationship with Jabby and need to get over it. Jabby’s looking at her like “whatchoo talkin’ ‘bout, Willis?” She says to Melissa that all of this has nothing to do with Maddie and to remember that Jabby always has Maddie’s best interests at heart.
So, I actually think that Jabby handled this semi-well. She didn’t give in to the temptation to skewer the other moms (at least not too much) and she handled Melissa very delicately. I feel like Melissa is the one who misses Jabby’s attention and that she was trying to earn her favor by dissing the other moms. Maybe we need a spinoff where Dr. Drew helps Melissa and Maddie with their issues.
It’s competition day, and everyone gets on the bus for Chicago. Everyone, that is, except Kelly, Paige and Brooke. Jabby says that’s fine, if Kelly wants to use her own gas and mileage, she can. She had just better show up on time with well-rested girls.
Jabby screams at Bus Driver Not Jim that he’s going the wrong way. At least she’s not screaming at him to go pick up her dog. Where has Broadway Baby been, anyway? I miss him.
They arrive in Chi-town. Jabby says that Paige is supposed to go on in twenty minutes, but she’s still not there. Christi interviews that she doesn’t know why Kelly, Brooke and Paige are not there, but Melissa apparently sees an opportunity here. She takes Maddie into the ladies room (we can still hear them, because their mics are still on) and tells her to ask Jabby to let her do her solo.
Nothing good ever comes out of a ladies room conversation
