There has been much speculation that this was staged by Jabby, but… I don’t know. That seems like a lot of effort. But again, anything is possible on this show.
Solo awards. Chloe comes in third, while Maddie comes in second. I was meanly happy that Maddie didn’t come in first, but I am glad that she did well. Hopefully this will (literally) help her get her groove back.
In the green room, Christi asks Kelly if she is going to let the girls dance in the group number. Kelly says she doesn’t want to support Jabby as a dance teacher, but she doesn’t want to let her girls down (again). Holly says the moms will stand by her no matter what she decides. Christi says that keeping them out of the group number will just prolong the fight.
Nia and Mackenzie, whom we’ve barely seen this ep, do their duet and it’s the cutest thing ever. Nia is a lion tamer and Mackenzie is a lion…OMG, love!
Afterwards, Nia interviews that she is proud that she and Mac pulled it off in three days. She is so cute. I wish we got to see more of her.
Zombie dance time. Kelly has decided to let the girls dance because she doesn’t want to let down the team. The dance is really great and the coshtumes are perfect.
Holly is proud to have pulled it off.
Awards. The duet gets first! Mackenzie is excited and gives us a “Rawr!!” OMG, I love her so much.
The group also gets first! So they are back on top. Jabby says this is because of the “healthy competition” between Maddie and Chloe. I don’t even know what to say to that. Jabby even has nice words for Holly’s coshtumes. Wow, unprecedented.
But of course it’s not all lollipops and roses. Kelly is sitting in the green room simmering.
I will not stab Abby in the heart. I will not stab Abby in the heart. I will not stab Abby in the heart…
Jabby says she can tell that Kelly’s brain is “tick, tick, ticking” about what she’s going to say. Kelly finally says that she’s disappointed that the kids couldn’t do their solo because the group number turned out great. She says the solos would have been fabulous. Jabby’s like, “we’ll never know.” Kelly: “Nope.” Then Jabby says that she saw the girls in their costumes. Kelly says that they needed more time to run the dances and practice, that they weren’t gonna go onstage and forget because of Jabby not paying attention to them.
Jabby’s like, what’s all this “run your dance” nonsense? She says if they don’t know the number by the time they get to the venue, they will never know it. Kelly’s like, “what else do you want me to do? I was ready. I was here to play ball.” Jabby’s like, “I don’t know – put stoppers on the damn chair like I asked you to?” She says that Kelly screwed up like she “always” does. Then she says that she wants kids who want to dance, and if Kelly’s don’t, she should break her contract and go.
Hmm, where did I leave that sandwich?
This is where it gets even weirder. Jabby says to Kelly: “I was the first one in the hospital when your husband ran over your kid’s foot. I hugged your kid in the hospital. How DARE you say these things about me?! Your kids don’t wanna dance. They’re lazy and they don’t like to lose.” Then she just walks out.
WTF?!! I mean, setting aside the whole “husband running her kid’s foot over” thing (serious WTF on that?), why is Jabby so angry? I feel like there was SOOOOO much more to this than we saw. They seemed so much angrier than the situation called for. Plus, once again, I don’t even know if they were in the same room with each other in this scene because they are never shown in the same shot.
