Jabby says she can’t have a kid cry and do a solo because it’s “disrespectful.” She tells Kendall to get herself together. Kendall leaves sobbing and Jackie is starting to question Jabby’s teaching methods.

I flew 3,000 miles for this shit?

Has she never seen this show before?

During the group rehearsal, Jabby says that Sophia will be getting a solo and oh, by the way, she only entered two solos so either Kendall or Maddie won’t be doing one. Shrill is immediately up in arms and says she’s not doing this. She says that Jabby gave Kendall zero chance to prove herself.

In Ohio – why the fuck do we have to keep switching back and forth? – Cathy and Vivi are shopping at a rummage sale.

Cathy interrogates Vivi on what she thinks about the boys and how she likes the group number. Vivi likes it! Cathy says the only thing the number needs is perhaps a girl to run on stage in the last five seconds and would Vivi like to be that girl? Vivi would not. Cathy asks who Vivi would pick for that honor and Vivi suggests some girl name Ayla. Cathy interviews that she can tell when Vivi likes something even though she is not a woman of many words. Well, she has to compete with all your invisible friends. She probably can’t get a word in.

In PA, Jackie and Sophia are nowhere to be found. They may be late or they may not be showing up at all. Kelly asks why they didn’t say goodbye, especially since Kelly never got those agent’s phone numbers that Jackie promised her. Holly interviews that Jackie seemed really uncomfortable with the whole situation and she has so many options she doesn’t need to put with this shit.  Shrill asks why should she put up with it, since it’s not even her studio.

Nia and Paige rehearse. Melissa says she thinks the duet has a lot of personality. But Holly thinks it’s already shaping up to be a disaster because Jabby’s already said she hates the music and choreography. Downstairs, Nia’s foot is hurting, so Jabby wants her to go to a doctor to get cleared to dance. Nia doesn’t want to let Paige down, so she hopes the doctor will let her dance.

The doctor clears her, but tells her to stay off her foot as much as possible when she’s not dancing.

Back at the studio, there’s still been no word from Jackie and Sophia. Jabby can’t understand what’s happening and can’t believe Jackie would do that to the team. She suggests that maybe they flew to Detroit. But in an interview, Jabby says she has a sneaking suspicion Jackie & Sophia went back to L.A.  

In Detroit, Cathy has rented a hideous stretch SUV limo to bring the boys and dads to the competition. She says that even if they lose to Jabby, they’ll have won in transportation. Aim high, Cathy.

    Wild Star Intensive is a sub-category of Starpower. Also, if this was an intensive and not a competition, then why were there awards? What ever. Great recap! I’m doing a paper on Dance Moms and how the make stuff up all the time and it’s intense. I’m actually excited for the next episode to see the duet. Here’s my pyramid prediction, I think maddie will finally be at the top again (where I’m sure she’ll stay for weeks to come based on history) and Kendall will be on the bottom again with a sly comment from Abby about how she went from the top to the bottom.

    Christi tweeted that Kendall was put into the wrong age category. The producers entered her wrong so that’s why she didn’t place. But I’m sure Abby will have something to say about that.

    (1) WTF is a “secret pocket weapon”? Cathy does not make sense sometimes. I’m sorry but my brain made up a really inappropriate joke over that malapropism.
    (2) Kendall’s costume looked odd to me–almost as if there wasn’t enough bodice and was too much skirt length. I? don’t know how else to explain it.
    (3) Why does Abby keep “killing” the girls in their routines? Car accidents, mass disappearance(technically maybe they weren’t killed in that scenario) and now hypothermia?
    (4) Abby “sent” Jackie away? More like Abby lied her @ss off in an attempt to save face.
    (5) I hate to agree with Candy Cathy but Jill’s outfit didn’t work.
    (6) I hate seeing the girls cry, especially Nia. :(

    why is brooke even still there? it’s obvious that she has no interest in being there and possibly in dancing at all anymore.

    i can’t believe holly took nia to the ER for a pain in her toe. seriously? in her toe??? i’m not a doctor, but i’m pretty confident that there isn’t any life-threatening problem that manifests itself as a warning in toe pain that will definitely kill you if you don’t wait to see a regular doctor the next day. wtf? i feel sorry for ER staff members whose time is wasted by shit like this every day.

    vivi cracks me up. she clearly thinks her mother is a freak. i can’t wait until she’s a teenager and gets herself emancipation.

    i don’t even know if i can keep watching this show. not because i’m offended, like people who keep swearing they can no longer watch “child abuse” — i think it’s all bullshit and ridiculous, but i’m not offended. it’s a stupid tv show. i’m just getting kinda bored with it at this point. i don’t watch it for the dancing — if i want to watch dance, i’ll go see professional dancers, thanks. i watch it, duh, for the drama and crazy storyline, but it’s just not doing it for me so much anymore. meh. but i’ll probably keep watching it while i clean my living room or something.

    Maybe the boys routine was similar to last weeks, but how can Abby call that out when she uses the same moves EVERY week? I never knew that jazz, contemporary, lyrical, etc. all incorporated the same movements. And if Kendell was entered in the wrong category why wasn’t she disqualified? Wasn’t there an episode last year against Cathy and one of her dancers?

    We are totally falling into Lifetime’s trap, by watching, discussing, disecting this show every week. Of course it’ll go on forever!

    @Elle, I think Holly probably took her in for xrays to see if there was a stress fracture or something “tangible” causing the pain. I did a little Googleing last night after I watched the episode and think site explains the condition well:

    I have taken my own son to the emergency room when he was in pain. He was non verbal and known for not telling us when injuries or illness happens to him, so when he suddenly could not walk and seemed to have leg pain, I rushed him to the hospital. I wanted to make sure it was not some kind of break or fracture just in case. It was just a pulled muscle most likely and nothing was wrong, but better safe than sorry. I don’t feel bad at all for taking him right away. It was on a Sunday night so it was not like there was anywhere else to take him.

    I don’t fault Holly for that at all.

    I’m embarrassed to say I’m even watching this show at this point. WTF is Cathy’s issue? How much do they pay her to act like that?

    Broadway Baby just died. How old was that little dog? Jabby probably really miss her. Then Jabby’s elderly mother being sick… I wouldn’t be surprised if Jabby’s not her usual self. That being said, I don’t know what is causing Cathy’s malfunction.

    I wonder if the show is (generally) real moment strung together in a fakish plot (not 100% fake, but sometimes close) with a smattering of outright fake scenes. Because some of it does seem real.

    I haven’t checked in a while, but months ago I check Brooke’s twitter, etc. I believe she does still enjoy dance. I think she is playing a part… sometimes. Other times, she probably is just bored with Jabby going over stuff for Fossie knows how long.

    I think Abby was crying because her ego was hurting because she lost Sophia. Jackie deserves a metal for pulling her daughter out of this very messed situation. Abby is a vile human being & Cathy drinks from the crazy fountain on a daily basis.

    If Cathy is going to be on the show with her boys every week doing the same number I am done watching…and I was really embarrassed for the father who was insulting people like a little bitch…does he have a vagina?

    Abby should have had her arrested for assault…you can’t go around hitting people with your purse. I know the show needs drama, but Cathy seems to me to be mentally ill or something and seeing Vivi makes me want to take a swat team and take her away from this idiot woman.

    I want to watch the moms bitch and Abby, not some stupid war fare every single week with Cathy. It’s as bad as Theresa and Melissa on Real Housewives of Jersey…..same old crap every time.

    Can’t wait to watch Christie and Kelly go at it, that will be fun.

    As someone who actually lives in Detroit, I was appalled by the thuggish behavior of these women. Brawling in public, screaming obscenities, making children cry……they gave Detroit a bad name last week!

    @truthsquad — lol, no offense, but Detroit doesn’t really have a good reputation to begin with. not that I’m saying it correctly or incorrectly does (never been there), but it just doesn’t. it’s like New Jersey — we have a bad reputation as well, and our entire state isn’t snooky by any means, but the fact is people tend to think it is.

    Abby Lee is going to be hosting “The View” tomorrow (Wednesday), and the dancers are supposed to be there too. I’m not totally sure if it’s the girls (I’m assuming), but the description just says “Abby Lee Miller dancers to perform”, so I’m not totally sure, but she IS going to be the guest host for the day. Just wanted to pass it along if anyone was interested. Might be interesting to watch her in that role. See her up against Whoopi.

    The fight between Abby and Cathy was entertaining, but besides that, the show is boring and formulaic.
    We start with pyramid, Abby assigns solos, the moms bitch about how their kids never get solos, then we have practice, the moms bitch about how Abby abuses their kids, we watch Abby abuse them, they cry, then we go to competition.
    They either do well and win or fuck up and don’t win.
    Then we all fight in the dressing room. Win or lose, we fight. And we cry.

    I just wish something else would happen.
    Sophia was a fun addition because she rocked the shit out of Maddie and Melissa’s collective world.
    But we all know that Sophia isn’t gonna be there forever, and things will just go back to normal.

    I did like Maddie’s solo alot this week though. I thought there were some different moves thrown in there from her usual solo, and she did dance it really well.
    If only we could do something about that mug.

    And I wonder if Cathy’s marriage is doing okay.
    She’s so obsessed with these dance dads and I feel like she’s two seconds away from going all pedobear on some of her Apple Cores.
    Speaking of which, Apple Core is a stupid name….the cores are only fit to feed to pigs or throw in the garbage. They’re the useless part of the apple that no one wants.
    Why would she name her dance team that?
    That one dance dad, Dick, needs to stop because he is doing too much for me. Like he wouldn’t give his two front teeth to be on Jabby’s team. Just like Justus’ mom lol.

    I seriously think we need to organize a freedom march for Vivi. She isn’t even dancing anymore, and the situation is still highly critical. We need to join hands, sisters and brothers, and march to the very steps of the Candy Apple studio/Beef jerky spot and demand once and for all that Cathy FREE VIVI.

    I enjoyed Maddie’s new moves too. (And I suspect we now know the *real* reason she didn’t have a solo for a few weeks, so she could learn a new one during that time instead of doing the same one with different music and costume all the time, and have enough time to learn the new solo so she could win with it even her very first time doing it so that it all still fits the \storyline\….)

    There has been some speculation that the name of the Cathy’s new team is really Apple Corps (which would be a clever name for her all boys team) and that the show editors got it wrong when doing their captions ???

    @Corinthia – No, the “blog” that Cathy writes for Showtime is also labeled “Apple Cores.” I think she thought it would be cute, like meaning the “core” group at Candy Apple’s. I think their dancing is awful when combined together, btw. None of them work well together…not like “our” ALDC girls!
