Cathy says that Jabby is outside somewhere pouting while the moms are in here threading. Shrill says that’s just what dance moms do. She says Cathy can show up in limos and sit pretty, but that doesn’t make her a dance mom. After Cathy leaves, Shrill says they need to beat Cathy by a lot, not just a tenth of a point.
Kelly says she’s called Christi numerous times and Christi hasn’t returned her calls. Shrill asks if Kelly and Christi are going to be okay and Kelly says she doesn’t know. She thought their friendship was strong enough to weather an errant comment about a dropped hat. Does anyone else think this is also bullshit? I’m sure that Christi and Kelly were texting as this was filming. Fuck you, Lifetime.
Jabby comes back and says the duet-pulling is official. Jabby soothes the crying girls by saying “Abby giveth and Abby taketh away.” Jabby tells Holly that she screwed it up for her kid and that Paige is just a victim of circumstance. Holly calls her evil again.
Holly goes into the ladies room to cry and says Nia will do the group number, but she herself is not going back out there.
Kendall’s solo is up first. She’s carrying one of those masks on a stick – in honor of Mardi Gras?
She’s okay. A little sloppy. Jabby says she needs to work on her face and her emotions.
Gino’s solo is next.
There’s lots of crawling around and turning. It’s kind of boring. Jabby thinks Maddie can beat Gino, but she’s not sure because the judges always mark boys higher.
In the bathroom – yay, another bathroom scene – Kelly says she and Holly have to show Jabby they don’t care.
“I’m sure Jabby will listen to reason.”
Holly interviews that Kelly’s right and Jabby has no power over her. They decide to get the girls ready for the duet just in case Jabby changes her mind. Good luck with that, ladies.
So now it’s time for Maddie’s long-awaited solo. Wait – it says they’re at Wild Dance Intensive?
What happened to Starpower? Are they the same thing? Do I care enough to Google? [No.] Before Maddie goes on, Paige says “come on, Mad Dog!” Ha ha, love it. So Maddie’s solo is the same as always, but it’s nice to see her dancing again.
Melissa is in the audience overcome with emotion and thanks Jabby as the tears flow down her face. If Dance Moms doesn’t work out, Melissa can always find work in a Spanish soap opera.
Te amo, Mami
Time for the Apple Core’s. It’s another hip-hop number and there’s no way that Cathy choreographed it. I can’t speak to the technique or anything, but it’s a fun number.
