Jabby picks four or five finalists, but decides not to decide that night.
At Kelly’s McMansion, Kelly, Brooke and Paige are chillaxing in the kitchen and Kelly asks the girls if they’ve decided what to do about dance.
They have not. Brooke interviews that Kelly pulled them out because Jabby was mean to Paige and doesn’t get along with Kelly. Nothing about Kelly turning into a bipolar nutjob last season.
To Kelly, Brooke says she’s not sure if she wants to dance and Paige says she wants to dance, but she also wants to model. Kelly says that’s great, but she wouldn’t have been able to model if they hadn’t been in L.A. for dance. Brooke says, the real question is, does Kelly want to go back to dance? Kelly says she doesn’t. She interviews that she’s done with Jabby torturing her and her kids.
Dance is supposed to be fun and the environment at ALDC is neither safe nor healthy for them. DUH. I might sympathetic if I believed she really weren’t going to bring the girls back. (Maybe she’s not, but she always does eventually.)
At ALDC the next day, Jabby stops Shrill at the front desk to tell her that Kendall’s getting a solo this weekend. She says she hopes that she and Shrill have a good season and that Kendall has been inspired by the auditions. Shrill goes into the dressing room to brag about this to the other moms.
Jabby comes in to tell them she’s decided to give Kendall a solo. Shrill asks who she picked to replace Paige and Brooke, but Jabby refuses to say. Holly interviews that she’s seen some amazing talent, but Paige and Brooke haven’t been gone that long. Holly tells Jabby she should work with what she has. Jab says she’s been doing that for 39 weeks now.
Jabby says it would have been easier to find seven new people than just replace two. She says the kids at the audition last night were dancing for their lives. Or to be on TV.
Holly asks Jab if the new people will get solos and Jabby answers with a resounding yes. Shrill wants to know if they will start out on probation like Kendall had to and Jabby just shakes her head and leaves the room.
It’s time for Kendall’s rehearsal. Shrill is still upstairs talking about how this is Kendall’s year while Jabby berates Kendall for being pigeon-toed. Jabby interviews that she heard good things about Kendall’s work ethic over the break and that’s why she made the routine extra difficult. But Kendall is not performing up to Jabby’s standards and Jabby is not keeping that to herself. She screams that the girls auditioning are 1,000 times better than Kendall and then dismisses her in disgrace. Way to instill confidence!
