Jabby rehearses Chloe’s solo and says she’s been very impressed with Chloe for the last few weeks because she’s been working so very hard. Christi complains that Jabby’s praise is going to cause Chloe to start cutting herself because of all the pressure. (Kidding.)
Kelly tells the girls that she has arranged for Brooke to record her summer song and the girls get to be the backup singers. We will learn later that Kelly has hired a music producer who just HAPPENS to be “Seven,” the guy who produced the Lux video. Won’t be that will be awkward when he and Melissa see each other again?
Melissa finally ‘fesses up to the other moms that she took the girls to MSA. Christi interviews that Melissa does not like to be one-upped, and as soon as she heard that Kelly was doing something for her kid, Melissa had to be like “I’ve already done something for MY kid.”
Christi asks Melissa why she didn’t just tell them in the first place where she was going. This is the woman who kept her engagement a secret (while wearing a huge ring), for god’s sake. Kelly says stunts like this make Maddie feel bad because she wants to be part of the group and Melissa doesn’t let her.
Jabby interviews that Melissa left early yesterday and she’s going to find out why. She grills Maddie and Mackenzie and they tell her they met Jen at MSA. Jabby knows Jen. Oh, I’ll bet she does. Jabby says she thinks that Melissa has told the other moms and tells Maddie not to pay any attention to the “vultures.” She tells Maddie that once she graduates from high school she’ll never see these bitches again and none of them care about her, but Jabby does. I’m sure that Maddie feels reassured by that. Jabby interviews that Melissa just wants what’s best for her kid, but an agent isn’t what’s best. Melissa should focus on Maddie’s education and her dancing. And her complete submission to Jabby.
Kelly and the girls meet with Seven to record Brooke’s single. Kelly says there are not a lot of opportunities in Pittsburgh, so she wants the girls to take advantage of being in L.A.
Brooke records her song and okay, I’ll say it: I don’t love her voice. Does she need more voice lessons? I don’t know. But, that’s what auto-tune is for, so I’m sure it will be all good in the end.
Maybe give cheerleading another chance?
The other girls do backup vocals and they are super excited and super cute. Also, Mackenzie has a nice voice. Kelly says everyone has had a fun day but she doesn’t know what will happen as far as the song goes.
Kendall is rehearsing her solo with Jabby and Maddie is lurking in the background. She asks Jabby if she can do a solo. Jabby says she had the opportunity before but she threw it all away. She makes Maddie tell her why she deserves to have a solo. Maddie says because she’s the only one who doesn’t have one this week. Jabby says that’s not a good reason, and she has to really want it. She interviews that she is teaching Maddie a lesson that things don’t always come easy. Gee, I wonder where Maddie got that idea in the first place?
