Dance Moms Recap: Uncalled For

WTF? She interviews that she and Kelly are not only not speaking, but they aren’t even making eye contact. This is all over a few phone calls?

Downstairs, Jabby is screeching at the girls and refuses to call Chloe by name. She refers to her as “You. Girl in the front.” “Girl in Front” sounds like a Winona Ryder movie from the ’90s. Jabby interviews that she’s doing this to teach Chloe she can’t take everything for granted. If she leaves, the show will go on without her. If Chloe wants Jabby to “remember” her name, she had better show her as much.

Upstairs, Christi just looks sad and beaten down. Melissa asks Kelly to come downstairs with her and “get supplies” from the coshtume room. She interviews that she’s concerned about the fight and wants to find out what’s going on. Perhaps she can help by drawing up legal papers for one or both parties.

In the coshtume shop, Kelly is saying she didn’t do anything wrong. Melissa says she doesn’t want to get in the middle (although you know she TOTALLY wants to get in the middle or else she wouldn’t be there) and “it is what it is.” DRINK! Finish your bottle and grab another.

Sounds like a lawsuit!

Melissa says they just need to get on with their lives because they all have hurt one another at one time or another.

Nia and Chloe come up to the booth and Chloe is crying because Jabby still won’t say her name. Nia confirms that Jabby is being mean to Chloe.

In this week’s bathroom scene, Christi comforts Chloe and tells her not to let Jabby get to her. She says Jabby is just doing it to hurt her and she shouldn’t give Jabby the satisfaction.

Brooke’s solo is called Careless because Brooke couldn’t “care less” about dance. Heh. Poor Brooke. Somebody just let her go be a cheerleader or singer or whatever. Free Brooke! Jabby screams at her about her feet and various other issues while Kelly starts in on complaint # 437: “Jabby is setting my daughter up to fail.”

Meanwhile, Nia is sad that she and Paige couldn’t do their duet last weekend so she tells Paige she’s going to ask if they can do it this week. Paige says she’s “very terrified” for Nia because Jabby can be scary. Heh. Nia goes into the studio to talk to the Jabster and Holly says she is proud of her for standing up for herself. Nia asks if they can do the duet and Jabby says she will think about it. Jabby interviews that she’s happy to see Nia asking rather than Holly. Go Nia! It’s almost like you were never in a wheelchair three years ago.

Christi and Melissa meet for what looks like a very uncomfortable drink.

Christi and Kelly have issues they need resolved because those nasty tweets by Kelly makes me believe something serious happened. We might have two moms with buns in the oven…Christi and Melissa!

Something I noticed…Holly is the only one who actually says “costume” instead of “coshtume”. What a doctor indeed!

Did anyone else notice that in her picture, Christi is not wearing any rings??

Because I am just that bored, I went back through every recap with pictures of Christi’s hands shown and a ring was clearly evident in the summer of 2011 (this only means that that was the only other time that hand was clearly visible).

Who are all these random people in the background when the moms are upstairs? They are distracting me from Christi’s emotional moment.

How do I change my screen name? I seem to have the same name (whoochile) as another poster. Yikes, why are the captcha codes so hard to read? Seriously, am I that old?

even though i still don’t think christi looks obviously pregnant, this episode-long outburst makes me think she could be. god knows my entire first trimester was spent RAGING at my husband over the stupidest shit. i’m only in my early second trimester and i am still not “showing,” but my stomach is definitely puffier, so maybe that’s what’s going on with christi. i don’t know. i’m basing my change of mind on her behavior more than on her figure. as for the beer, eh, she could be one of those people who thinks drinking an occasional drink is okay (which it is considered okay in many countries, and i personally don’t think it’s a problem; i’m just too paranoid to do it myself, but i have many cousins from other countries who had a drink every few months or weeks during their pregnancies, as their countries’ obs consider it okay, and everything always turned out fine. *shrug*). anyway! i do feel like that’s the kind of stupid fight i personally wouldn’t have normally but can see myself having had a few weeks ago thanks to good ol’ hormones.

enjoy your vacation — i’m jealous! i was hoping to go on an anniversary trip to spain in a couple of months but now i’m going to have to skip it because of the baby. hope you have a griswold-less vacation, indeed (not that it wouldn’t make for some amusing stories).

Ok, so I just re-watched the scene of Melissa and Christi at the lounge! I never see Christi actually take a drink of her beverage, just Melissa. The glass was full in the two shots I saw, and then at the end of the scene, BOTH of their glasses were completely empty. Could it be that the producers were staging that shot to make us think Christi was drinking, but they just emptied the glass at some point since we never see her drink it? Too much CSI type crap for me LOL

Good catch CTRParent I was going to ask if we saw her actually drink it.

Not only is the glass empty, it is clean, with no sign it ever held a beverage. Yet more staged crap.

I hope in five years, once this show has faded into the reality TV graveyard, we see an a article about Abby Lee losing her dance studio because no students wanted to be berated by her. One can only hope!

Ok, so i see the tweets SnoopK8 included here, and notice they match up with conclusions people had already drawn here based on the timeline of the \parking lot protest\ coinciding with rumors/tweets/etc of contract disputes from around the same time. Ok, makes sense, but now here is what I wonder…

I don’t believe for a moment that Kelly ever planned to leave *DM*. Leaving *Abby* sure, as long as she would still be on the show.

So… if the parking lot protest was about the contracts, money, etc… Why wasn’t Kelly part of the protest? Am I wrong and she really was leaving and/or considering leaving at the time? Or did she simply decline to participate in the protest (and maybe this could have something to do with the sudden animosity betwenn K and C)? Or was she part of the contract protest like everybody else and they edited her out of protest footage (and/or filmed/refilmed protest footage after the fact, remember how people noticed the replacements being welcomed in the sign in the background of the parking lots scenes)?

    Thoughts???

(Not sure why I put an apostrophe in “captcha’s”. I wouldn’t bother apologizing for such a trivial typo anyway, except certain errant apostrophe-S mistakes get a lot of flack here.)

I miss the days when this show gave us gold, like Mackenzie’s “I just want to sit on the couch and eat chips”. And episodes where the fighting only took up about 15% of the show. They either need another younger permanent team member to contribute funny interviews, or they need to just have a conversation with Mackenzie and let the film roll (without suggesting things for her to say…) so we can get some new, more enjoyable quotes/moments.

I couldn’t even make it through this episode. Once I realized they were down to a story line about grown ass women unfriending each other on Facebook it was like something fell off the shelf.

I’m not sure where they can take this show now. I just wish they’d get the little girls off of it.

Literally laughed outloud at the make it rain comment lol!!!

Random ppl in the background are parents who are not/do not have a child on the show but still dance at ALDC.

I think Nia will be the only child who makes it out of here without being scarred for life. And maybe Brooke because she genuinely acts like she could give two f***s.

Was the thing about Facebook on the new episode? Or did I somehow miss that? I thought the fight between Kelly and Christi was because Kelly didn’t call a stalker-ish number of times while Christi was pouting…

No, their was no actual defriending on facebook (idk if they even have facebooks) it was just a clever title the producers or whoever decides the title thought up to describe their rediculous fight. Kind of like the Bye Bye Baby title for this week

I know everyone saw Lucas from DMM on stage, but did anyone catch his mom in the audience sitting behind Abby and the moms? I’m sure she strategically placed herself there to get some camera time. I couldn’t find any other DMM kids on stage…but I would assume they were there, since the comp was in Ft. Lauderdale?
