Dexter Recap: I Want to Play a Game

Dexter wants Speltzer for himself, but knows if Deb gets him her way, she may ease up. Deb goes in and talks about the maze being Pac-man boss level worthy and just wants to be remembered. But maybe she’s not pretty enough.  See Speltzer’s women have to be supermegafoxyawesomehot like his mother.  She keeps poking the bear saying he’s trying to recreate his mother with these stupid, easy, whores.  That he used to have to hear his mom get fucked by guys like him and that he wishes it was him in there.  He shows his Oedipus Rex by going T-Rex on her and confessing.

Not like that.

Dexter catches Deb after work saying Jaime is going to watch Harrison late (so unlike her) and asks her to grab a drink to celebrate.  She’s in no mood because the girl is still dead.  She wants to pick up the Spanish Inquisition (you still weren’t expecting it), blaming Dexter for Rita’s death.  She feels that she and Harrison are in danger by being around Dexter.  She wants Harrison to go to his grandparent’s to be safe from his father.  Why do that when he can just sign Jaime up for kickboxing and Tae Kwon Do lessons?

Deb wants him to choose between his desires and his family.  He doesn’t want to and says he’ll handle it.  Deb wonders if he was 3 minutes later to the maze.  We will save that scenario for the finale, Deb.  He claims to be in complete control in one of the more insane moments he has around Deb.  His only mistake was not killing Trinity the moment he met him…and trying to work with his brother…and bringing Miguel Prado in…and Lumen…and enrolling Harrison into a school that let’s anybody take him after a play– so he’s made some mistakes.  He’s in control now.  Good day, madam.

We move to Alex’s abode where Isaak and company have come by for a late night visit.  Isaak brings up family, the wonders of children, how 5 is the best age. Yeah, they’re in another country, thanks for bringing that up asshole.  Isaak knows Alex can’t afford to send a lot of money back to his family so he offers him a chance to set them up for life, put his kids through college; but he needs a favor.  Isaak wants him to take the fall for killing Mike.  So he forces Alex to write a suicide note expressing his sorrow to Kaja.  Unfortunately, I put more effort into birthday cards I write to third cousins so good luck with that sticking. Alex finishes it off with a shot down the hatch and one to the temple.

Look into Community Colleges in Miami.  I’m a man of my word.

Dexter is busy at work when Hannah Mckay walks in.  She’s there to help find the bodies, now that one was found.  She’s only interested in finding Dexter’s body at the moment, however.  She talks about her time with Wayne and how there goal was to escape to Argentina.  She’s not so sure life on a farm in Argentina would be much different than on a farm in Alabama.  Would need to know spanish, for one.  She only misses how she felt, that anything was possible.  Dexter says he doesn’t know the feeling.  I guess murder doesn’t fall into the anything pile.  She leaves to join her lawyer.

Born in New York, went to school in Boston and now living in San Diego.  I got a degree in Engineering only to basically abandon it and now attempting to be a screenwriter, trying to make money any way I can on the way.  As a long time fan of TVGasm, I'm excited to be a part of the team and here to make you guys laugh.

    Great recap!

What do you think about Isaak’s and Viktor’s relationship? I thought father/son, but also got the lovers vibe. IMDB shows them with two different last names, so maybe the latter is correct.

I love how the writers have Dexter saying things like, “I love you,” at opportune moments to Deb. We see what you did there, writers! :-)

I’m leaning towards lovers vibe but (SPOILER ALERT) after tonight’s episode, I’m not sure if we will find out.
