Drag U Recap: Grow UP!

So Nicole splits the difference. Her options are a tempting and flowing knee-length dress with an embellished neckline or an enticing v-neck party dress with lace detailing, for a mature, sexy look.

Homework is to pick the outfit that tests their boundaries and leaves the judges gagging because it’s time for Dance Class with this week’s returning Dean of Dance, Jamal Sims. His CV’s been updated to include Jennifer Lopez and Usher. Jamal’s easily influenced by subliminal messaging and finally chose Flashdancefor the performance.

I wonder what made him pick that song?

Jamal’s choreographing a routine that celebrates their being beautiful, grown and sexy but MJ’s nervous about performing before her friends and family. She’s also bouncing and bopping like a middle school cheerleader, which does not make Jamal happy.

I think Jamal’s cleavage intimidated her and she went to her safe place.

Cristy thinks it’s going too fast but Jamal thinks she’s almost there, she just needs to pick up her head and “present as a woman.” Huh? Nicole’s hopping around like a bunny with vertigo, which is not how Jamal choreographed it. This makes her more anxious and Raven’s concerned because she thought she had the prettiest but gurr can’t dance.

Jamal wants them all to practice, practice, practice but it’s not good. Latrice agrees and Pandora’s wondering how in the hell they’re going to pull it together in time. I wonder if they do?

If you’re interested, apply three coats of regular nail polish and let dry before gluing the fakes on top. That way when you rip them off, you peel away the polish instead of the top layer of your nail.

FILLER! They’re practicing the dance until a needle scratches. MJ messed up and is getting squirrely because draguation is coming up. But the professors are here, so that will have to wait.

While Pandora feels over-dressed, Raven could totally star in an Ann Miller biopic directed by John Waters. Totally.

Cristy’s feeling good about her body rejecting the “shlumpadinka” clothes (Stop trying to make that happen, Pandora.) but MJ’s feeling a little insecure about whether she can pull it off. Latrice thinks she just needs to believe in herself but MJ still doesn’t want to embarrass herself in front of her family.

Cristy’s the first to meet with Ru. He asks about Dita. Cristy thinks she’s a powerhouse who doesn’t take any crap. Which leads Ru to wonder why Cristy hasn’t become a grown-ass woman, yet, and Cristy…blames not having a role model? What? Cristy also says she was teased a lot, both as a teen and still as an adult, so Ru breaks it down. The world is full of assholes but listen to his mama, “If they ain’t gonna pay your bills? Pay them no mind.”

Mmm, hmm…What? Heeey!

They were a good bunch, and I agree that for once, the winner didn’t bother me.

But can we please discuss how Dr. Rey is an actual doctor?
    Like seriously.
He’s a doctor who cuts into people.
And he’s a smart doctor, assuming that he didn’t fake his credentials.
And he’s 50! He looks so young for 50, I think.
I was laughing at him because it was so obvious that he was not any kind of doctor and just played one in a random porno, but now I’m kind of jealous of Dr. Rey’s boogie.

    Was this the season finale?
If so, thank you vallegirl for the great recaps! The season was kind of tragic, but you did a super awesome job with it.
    Now…on to All-Starss….:D
