Drag U Recap: Knockouts!

Okay, that’s kind of awful. Why is she wearing her nona’s cardigan? You know there’s a crumpled up tissue in one of the sleeves. Krystle gasps and Juju’s like “Yeah, join the club,” and asks if she looked in the mirror that day. Krystle says she doesn’t care because she lives with her boyfriend and she’s so comfortable around him that she just doesn’t try. Juju waves the photo in her face in disgust to let her know there’s not trying and there’s wearing a cardigan with a crumpled tissue in the sleeve, but lets Krystle know that even if it’s a lot of work, she will be fierce.

Chad wants to know what makes Missy blush. Compliments. Oh, sweetie. Chad thinks she should get compliments all the time but lets us know in interview that Missy’s a blank canvas and Chad’s da Vinci.

Then Chad asks Missy what she has going on in her life. She says that her mom has stage-4 breast cancer, which is incurable, and between taking care of her mother and her husband and her animals she has no time for herself. Chad says he’ll help her get her groove back, then asks her what’s the what with her after gym drag:

Now, of the three Missy’s wasn’t even that bad. Yeah, the shorts are baggy but it’s fixable. Missy says she feels bad for her husband because that’s what she looks like all the time and she wants to be sweet and pretty for him (no comment) but Chad can’t believe that Missy’s husband doesn’t completely adore her, regardless of what she’s wearing, then hugs her because Chad is Mother Dust and that crop was just a prop.

Meet & greet is over and it’s time for the women to learn how much fun it is to play dress up because it’s Quick Drag time. Chad’s rushing Missy like a drill sergeant while Raven lets Cynthia know she’d only ever wear a tube top and thong if she had Cynthia’s body. Krystle pulls out a dress that Jujubee’s grabby little hands want for herself.

Raven sallies on over to Jujubee to speak the truth let her know Krystle won’t win but Jujubee just laughs because Raven’s face makes her want sushi.

I have no idea what that means, but it’s still funny.

Time’s running down and while Chad calls Missy a bag of Skittles, Jujubee lets Krystle know she’s the first woman she’s ever gotten on her knees for and Cynthia finds out that the changing areas are not made for amazons. And time’s up.

At the Dragulator, Ru loves the bright pink dress Cynthia chose because it brings out the golden tones in her skin and then tells her that if you feel good on the inside it comes through. Okay, Dr. Ru. Krystle chose the animal print wedges because the print is fierce which is what she wants to be. Ru politely asks about Missy’s lovely blue sequined dress, which she picked because she likes color, and ignores the Brian Setzer fright wig on her head.

Ummmm…

    @valle,

    “I don’t think any other group managed to be this in sync.”

    I couldn’t agree more. They really were good, and heck, when Krystal said she thought they all did well, I got a little wet eye.

    Cynthia, I hate to say, looked kind of like a guy in a dress (sorry) She is so fierce and beautiful, but sometimes over-doing the makeup on a grrrl like her does the opposite. Loved her abs, her BF was crazy!!!

    I love Ru’s music, truly! I listen to Glamazon and the Main Event, and Jealous of my boogie all the time. She is very clever and I love her to death, but I don’t think she should be using “hallalou” . . . that was coined by a much lesser Queen, and Ru deserves the best! So there!

    @Juddfan I wholeheartedly agree! I still have a picture I took with my first boyfriend, who wore makeup. For fun I had him do my makeup that day, but when we got the pics back I looked like the boy and he looked like the girl! I didn’t look bad, just a bit masculine (though it didn’t help I’m somewhat androgynous naturally)b/c his style put me over that edge.

    I love his music too! <3 all those songs, and Lady Boy! "Don't you know, I'm that chick you know, that my world won't stop if you clock me. You got me!"

    I’m starting to get really mad at this show.
