Meanwhile, Missy is getting the moves pretty easily but, true to her need to please, looks at Jamal for his approval. He picks up on it immediately and lets her know not to give a shit and just dance. Missy cries in interview that it’s hard because she really wants to prove herself.
But now, a drag tip from Professor Work.

Those are some good ideas. Do try a temporary one first. Don’t get a lover’s name. Do get something that reminds you of that boyfriend or girlfriend so if the relationship goes south you don’t have to be reminded of what a dumbass you were.
Filler! There’s no one bemoaning how old or heavy or uncoordinated she is so they’re all just watching each other until the queens arrive. Raven’s continuing her disturbing habit of not wearing pants. They’re your friend, Raven. Get reacquainted.
And now Krystle remembers that she was doing the chicken dance the other day and is concerned because she’s not getting it. Jujubee zigs and asks her about bringing the sexy but when Krystle talks about feeling it when she’s all done up with hair and makeup Jujubee zags and plugs the lingerie sponsor, then tells Krystle she can think of it as a gift to unwrap for her man. Oh, Jujubee. You’re almost at Ru levels of shameless plugging.
Makin’ money, honey!
Cynthia’s meeting with Ru who wants to know how it’s going. She starts off fine, saying she’s having to unlearn old, bad habits. She was a tomboy growing up and the other kids were ruthless. Things get more emotional when she talks about how it didn’t really change when she became an adult and it’s just been difficult having to be tough all the time. Ru bucks her up and tells her to let Kayla handle what she can’t and to turn the experience of being picked on for being different into an advantage and to just build on it. Then Ru tells her she’s a “special kid.” Cynthia’s clearly flattered and says what Ru said struck a chord because she knows she doesn’t have to keep repeating that cycle.
Chad’s mother-henning Missy about her need to please others instead of taking care of herself. Missy agrees that she does tend to make pleasing others her main priority and Chad tells her plainly that making time for herself doesn’t have to mean dropping her other responsibilities, she just needs to include herself in those responsibilities.
Krystle’s in her Ru meeting and telling him that the hardest part has been shaking the negative voice in her head that reminds her she’ll always be the little fat girl. Ru tells her she needs to channel Touché whenever the doubts creep in to beat them back down, then asks Krystle to show him what that would be like. Turns out, the mean little fat girl in her head is named Sally. After punching and kicking Sally back down Ru’s pleased as punch (Corny pun intended.) and tells Krystle to work on really bringing that voice up through her core.
And you can tell Lucy she’s pulled her last football, too.
If you like it, spread it!:

@valle,
“I don’t think any other group managed to be this in sync.”
I couldn’t agree more. They really were good, and heck, when Krystal said she thought they all did well, I got a little wet eye.
Cynthia, I hate to say, looked kind of like a guy in a dress (sorry) She is so fierce and beautiful, but sometimes over-doing the makeup on a grrrl like her does the opposite. Loved her abs, her BF was crazy!!!
I love Ru’s music, truly! I listen to Glamazon and the Main Event, and Jealous of my boogie all the time. She is very clever and I love her to death, but I don’t think she should be using “hallalou” . . . that was coined by a much lesser Queen, and Ru deserves the best! So there!
Ha! “Tyra’s flogging a Jay” is my new favorite phrase!
@Juddfan I wholeheartedly agree! I still have a picture I took with my first boyfriend, who wore makeup. For fun I had him do my makeup that day, but when we got the pics back I looked like the boy and he looked like the girl! I didn’t look bad, just a bit masculine (though it didn’t help I’m somewhat androgynous naturally)b/c his style put me over that edge.
I love his music too! <3 all those songs, and Lady Boy! "Don't you know, I'm that chick you know, that my world won't stop if you clock me. You got me!"
I’m starting to get really mad at this show.
