Drag U Recap: More to Love

So…the performance. The song was too slow and they all seemed to be doing different choreography. Mary was a little shy in places, and lost in others, but her husband was really enjoying it. Meanwhile Amber’s doing a serious lip synch, and in the flats she’s able to dance pretty well. But none of that matters because at some point Sinead left the stage and Mimi Imfurst showed up, practically elbowing Amber out of her way and leaning in and around to block her from the judges. Stay classy, Sinead. It’s a makeover show. But what did the falculty think?

We don’t care what the falculty thinks.

They all loved Amber and were so impressed with how she powered through the injury to perform. Mary gets props for remembering the words and actually showing some confidence and sexiness, so damned with faint praise. Bunny prefaces her comment about Sinead saying there are many kinds of drag and she was the clown…but Bunny liked her clowning and would pay to see it. Holly gives the backhanded compliment that the pro is that Sinead was funny and on the whole time but the con is that she was on the whole time and was pulling attention instead of working with the group. But then justifies it as she’s there trying to snatch…what, exactly? Makeup a gift card and a $3166.97 check?

Amber has to win, right? Prettiest, youngest, triumphed over an injury, glamorous brother, strong performace. Who else could win?

Whatever.

I’ll just assume that Amber wearing flats and having Geneva as a brother knocked her out. And she really doesn’t have an excuse for being frumpy with him as her brother. Still, Sinead was kind of awful. Not Tamara awful, but still just too Mimi Imfurst. And we were all ready to see the door hit Mimi in the ass by the time she left, too.

Neither Pandora nor Sinead’s friends are too emotionally involved in this so we get to hear from Amber that she’s taking this newfound confidence with her from Drag U and Mary’s ready to embrace the new her, and then we see Geneva’s entire ensemble:

AWE-SOME.

She looks like the Judds starring in a country & western remake of Barbarella so drive that down sorority row.

    Great recap as usual Vallegirl!

I get what your saying about Pandora; I J’dored her on season 2 of RPDR but lately it seems like she’s trying too hard to be the funny queen. I hope this trend doesn’t continue into the AllStar season…

Sinead was absolutely insufferable. I liked her at first, but as soon as she stepped out onto the runway, any goodwill I had towards her instantly left.
Like…oh my god, I don’t even have words.
At the end, when Ru was doing his final speech about driving shit down sorority row, I wanted to reach into my screen and strangle her because of her stupid faces. I can somewhat understand what would drive her to be such an annoying ass on the runway, but at that point, the competition was over and she won. She should have just been normal. Her nails were banging though.

Adam was cute as hell…I like Candis and Jamal too, but Adam needs to be the dean of dance every week forever and ever amen. His butt was so perfectly round. I need to locate a straight version.
The “makeup” “expert” was also more adorable than past “experts”, except for Rami.

I wish Geneva was my brother. I want to shop with him and I also want him to help me bedazzle my clothes.
Why does my brother have to be this way? :(

I loved how the “makeup” “expert” sounded like he didn’t understand a word he said. “Shit, what was my line again?”

Totes with ya on “whatever” Sinead, Chaos . . . ugh!!! I did think she was the ringer, but Amber’s make up was so incredible . . . Jennifer Hudson, am I right? Didn’t love the pink wig on Geneva, but loved hu! I wonder if she’s tried out for Drag race.

Valle, look at you, pulling out Mimi Imfurst . . . hee . . . I had to think about that for a few to figure it out. Sinead was much worse, probably the worst, and it’s a shame, as there was potential for her to be funny, too much too often too open wound . . . I do wonder if they know who’s going to win before everything takes off.

I wish none of these chicks would ever complain about the shoes ever again . . . so boring . . .

For my one stint in drag, the very pro queen who was doing our make-up did that to my eyebrows . . . Frikkin ridonk . . . sigh . . . I do not make a pretty grrl.
