Hello, Gasmii! Welcome to week three of “Dancing With the Stars: All Stars.” Last week, we said good by to Joey Fatone. I really hate myself for becoming emotionally invested in this show, but I couldn’t help it with this elimination. Joey going home was bullshit – plain and simple.
I made that face too, Joey.
Well, let’s get right into this episode. This week, the contestants will be performing “iconic” dances from past episodes. I think that we need to teach everyone on this show what “iconic” means. There is no way that anything that takes place on a reality show is “iconic.” I don’t think these dances are the stuff that stands the test of time. Anyway, the contestants have to bring something new to the dance. Apparently, “something new” means ridiculous props. That’s all we see coming into the ballroom. Also, the stars will be acting as the creative directors for their dances.
For the fun of it, I’ll first be posting the original dance and then the dance performed this season for comparison.
First up, is Drew and Anna. They’ll be dancing the cha-cha that Joey McIntyre (woo, NKOTB!) and Ashley DelGrosso performed on season one. Drew wants to make the whole thing like a concert. That makes sense – he is from a boy band. Apparently, Anna is very embarrassed to be sexy. Stop it, Anna! You are very sexy. Do it up.
Joey & Ashley (Season 1)
Drew & Anna
I think it’s pretty easy to decide which of those two was the better dance. While Joey and Ashley pretty much stayed in the same place the entire time, Drew and Anna really used the entire dance floor. If nothing else, this shows how far this show has come in production value!
What do the judges think? Len thought Drew had a nice balance of showmanship and technique. Bruno says, “The rock god goes Magic Mike.” Who exactly the rock god in this situation? Drew wasn’t even the most recognized member in a mediocre boy band. Someone needs to teach Bruno about rock and roll. Carrie Ann loved the “b-boy” moves and loves that Drew brought out sexy Anna. I think there needs to be more sexy Anna in this world.
Carrie Ann – 8
Len – 8
Bruno – 8
24/30 – Their highest score of the season.
Next up is Gilles and Peta. Gilles doesn’t want to choose a dance that one of his competitors did. They will be dancing the tango done by Erin Andrews and Maks in season 10. Gilles wants to do something that’s never been done before – he wants to fly in his dance. Who wants to break it to Gilles that it’s been done before in “Dancing With the Stars”? Well, he’s handsome, so we’ll let him think he’s crazy original.
