We finally got rid of Squeaks last week when she tried to throw EricZ under the bus but ended up running herself over. This week we open with Eric thanking whomever he can that he does not have to deal with Autumn any longer. Poor guy was stuck with her in two team challenges but at least he knows that he can deal with anything if he could get through that torment. Everyone meets on a cliff by the beach with Mac standing as far from the ledge as she can. I wouldn’t trust them either Mac. The next challenge is to create a creature that is highlighted with bioluminescene. Megan has no idea what that is which is sad since even Slowayne knows what it is. Seriously when the slow kid outsmarts you there is a problem. Mac leaves before someone can push her over the cliff and everyone gets to sketching and designing. Everyone starts designing fucking sea animals except Meagan because she still doesn’t understand the challenge.

When the contestants walk into the lab they find a jungle scene with a button in front of it. Since it’s not a red button, it seems okay to push and EricZ goes to push it but Meagan has to always include herself so she mashes her hand on top of his. Good thing Jenna wasn’t around or her hand really would have been hurt. The button reveals that this week there will be a double elimination which throws everyone into a tizzy. What the fuck is this feather shit in Meagan’s hair and does she not own any other headbands? I hope she’s one of two this week…it’s long over due at this point. Speaking of Meagan she starts feeling dizzy and naueous while sculpting which can only mean one thing: Her feathery headband shit is really an implanted alien egg…Preggers! She ends up walking out and having to go to the hospital or something only to reveal that it was food poisoning. Man…someone really must have wanted her out of the house since no one else got sick and likely they are eating the same catered food.

Day 2 and Mac’s daddy stops by to give his advice and mentorship to each of the contestants. He was running late for bingo so he literally tells everyone that paint is important this week. I’m sorry because Daddy Mac is definitely a smart cookie but his mentorship this season sucks. He doesn’t add any kind of anything to the discussion and I agree with you guys that the judges giving feedback on who was ahead and who was behind was much better. This season was so rushed because last season had such high ratings and it is showing big time. There apparently is a room where everyone can go check out their blacklight painting and Kris takes Mac and Daddy Mac into the room. Daddy Mac calls Mac an Oompa Loompa which is probably the funniest thing he has ever said so far. It makes up for his crappy advice this week completely. EricF is looking at everyone’s designs and starts to get worried that his piece is too crazy and that he is losing time with all the molding he has to do. During Last Looks everyone of course rushes to get everything done in time while Eric is checking his UV paint knowing he isn’t making the best look of time. Wayne had no idea what to even do with his paint…because he is slow. Jon Landau is the guest judge this week and is probably one of the heavier hitters to have appeared on the show. He produced not only Avatar but Titanic as well. Maybe that’s where the budget went this year…
Wayne
Meagan
Kris
House
EricZ

EricF

Anthony
Houses’ came out looking like someone knocked her jaw off and then stood there like a dead fish. EricZ’s had barely any bio-paint on it to highlight it and it looked like a bunch of grey clay while Anthony’s actually looked like it would exist in our world as well as had some badass lightning with the bio-paint. He must have gotten some of that mojo back because it was a great piece. Kris didn’t really get the memo on the bio-paint highlighting the piece because his whole thing looked like a fucked up highlighter pen. Meagan’s looked like shit. Wayne’s character was a crab but it looked more like he had some weird growth coming out of his face and the bio-paint was also lackluster. EricF’s had tits of course and reminded me more of the girl from that creepy Antonio Banderas film, The Skin I Live In. Mac tried to say that Meagan was VERRRY sick and didn’t have much time to work on her piece but yet they kept Jenna around for 3 or so episodes with her gimp hand? House, Meagan and EricZ were on the bottom with Anthony and Wayne battled for first place with Anthony taking the win. Meagan and EricZ are the ones heading home but don’t worry though, EricZ beat out Meagan and Jenna for another shot at coming back next season in the Redemption web show.

If you like it, spread it!:

A whole lot of Creature from the Black Lagoon ripoffs and terible misuse of UV paint. I would have sent all three of those in the bottom home, and threatened those that were left.
Can anyone on this show do something other than horror? Or mock-horror, as the case may be?
Also, “I ran out of time” is not a valid excuse this late in the game. By now they know the time limits. WORK WITHIN THEM OR GO HOME.
All of the ‘creatures’ except Anthony’s were just awful. There is just something about a majority of these final products all this season that make them look dirty. I don’t know if it is the finish of the molding product or the paint they are using, but they look like they are on their fifth and final year of being a Halloween costume and will be thrown out after this one last party.
It’s too bad someone already did a firefly/lightning bug, because a riff of that would have been awesome for this challenge.
I now fully understand why Davey Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean) was 100% digital. Also, maybe that is the reason all of these finished products this season seem really bad. Even Avatar was 100% digital and those were very human-ish creatures.
IMO, House should have been sent packing! His creation was a horrible Creature rip-off painted blue. I agree that this season seems thrown together. I keep feeling that any of this seasons competitors would be blown away by the cast from season one. Aside from Anthony, the designs all look sooo sloppy and Halloween costume-y… just messy and usually falling apart when the judges take their closer looks. I really do enjoy the show, but I hope that next season, the producers take a little time to find the most skilled competitors rather than the first 16 that apply.
Gotta agree, Megan’s time was up. How did she expect the judges to “get it” when it didn’t sound like she really got it herself? Did she ever really have a concept?
Glad Anthony got his mojo back! His was the most impressive to me. The UV paint actually looked like something.
Oh, EricF, why do you keep doing this to yourself? I still think there’s a lot of talent there but… Bless his heart. He just can’t seem to stop himself! I did like how chirpy he was when Ve complemented the legs of his creature – cracked me up!
So… Has anyone else noticed that House seems to create creatures that kinda look like him? The mouth on this weeks creature looked just like his mouth to me. I’ve noticed it before but maybe it’s just me?
As usual, great recap. Mac avoiding the edge of the cliff slipped right by me! Nice catch.
So glad Meagan’s gone. I was exhausting myself picking up all the G’s the girl dropped. Really, what a bizarre and annoying speech pattern.
Anthony and Eric are the 2 in the top for me although Kris and Wayne aren’t bad either. I really liked Waynes sculpt on his crab man. But I wish most hadn’t stuck to sea creatures.
@Kristen R., I agree, I thought House was toast, but I should have known that Eric was getting the loser edit, as I actually started to like him.
I’m usually so pro-woman on these shows, but it really was Meagan’s time to go.
@timgunnsister, I agree with your top two, and also rans . . . we’re almost there.
Just wanted to let you know your recaps got me watching this show. I had honestly never heard of it before and I checked out the recap and was intrigued. I love the monster make up stuff. I am several epis behind though because they don’t put them up till way late on the website. I just watched the candy one.
Anthony has won like every challenge of the ones I have watched. I think it is in the bag that he will win it.
