I don’t understand how Derek can say he has never applied so many applications but he’s worked Halloween Horror Nights before? There’s like thousands of people involved in that so he has to have done more than two people in one sitting before. Tommy strikes again by breaking Roy’s staff by “accidentally” kicking it. I would like to “accidentally” break things too but that doesn’t mean you actually go and do it. Derek’s paint is dark as FUCK and…his witch looks like Darth Maul. I don’t even know why I am mentioning Derek when the real fight is between Laura and Nicole. Everyone heads on to Last Looks in the trailers where they all finish in the nick of time. The artists present their work in front of a live audience that consists of past contestants like Jerry, Ian and Bootleg Britney Spears and Patrick is back on panel. Laura, Nicole and then Derek all show their creations and seriously Derek…no more Star Wars for you buddy. The stunt show is pretty cool but I couldn’t help but notice that Laura’s witch disappeared while Nicole’s was kicking everyone’s ass and tossing them all off the top railing. Foreshadow?

Disclaimer: I have no FUCKING clue what Patrick said the entire night. Laura’s execution of the witch was gorgeous to Glenn because it wasn’t traditional but the demon was disappointing as it felt as though they were in different worlds. Ve enjoyed her color choices, especially the white and charcoal for the witch. Ve really liked Nicole’s water elements and the teeth on the demon were something she hadn’t seen in a long time. Glenn couldn’t help but notice how blocky the head on the demon was and Neville wasn’t sold on the ram horns for a water based demon. Glenn mentions the silhouette of Derek’s demon was strong and Ve liked how the skin looked parched from the inside on the witch. The judges agree that Nicole is the comeback kid, Laura is a great sculpture and Derek is amazing at concept design but the winner isn’t up to them.

Onward to the live finale!

In all honesty the finale was pretty much a waste of time and exactly what I expected. There were montages of the season, stupid questions and Mackenzie pissing off Glenn live. I did like the montage of Neville and Glenn in a pissing contest to see who could use the biggest words they found in the dictionary that day. Boob-Fish. I guess my questions regarding Joe were skipped in favor of exciting shit like what their favorite challenge was and what were the judges inspired by. What is kind of exciting is that they have already completed Season 4 of Face Off which starts in January. I’m kind of surprised that it’s already completed since I just saw an advertisement for casting the other week. Anyhoo…more importantly the winner is:

I honestly think I heard all of your collective groans once she was announced but I knew it was her because she was trending all night and she honestly did the best job on the finale. I really think that Laura was the overall best artist in the group and I liked her from the beginning but she made some poor choices in the end which did her in. No worries because I bet she will get a lot of work in the future since she’s professional and does kick ass work. So now that the winner has been announced go ahead and let me know how pissed off you are in the comments. It’s been a great season capping this with you guys and I’ve appreciated the great discussions we’ve had. Hopefully I’ll see you next season but if you miss me you can always check out my current show, Ink Master.

    I have to say (especially cause I live in Sacramento, CA) I’m glad Nicole won. Everyone only sees California as Los Angeles and southern California and I’m glad Nicole proved us in Norther Cali have talent! I called her win from episode one (probably only cause she was from my city) but dammit I’m glad she won! She gave the best finale looks and that’s all America cares about!

    Hopefully the better Presidential candidate follows suit and gives the best finale performance! (Go Jill Stein!)

    Laura’s demon wants too pollute the world? Was her story written by a fourth grade class studying the environment? I guess it’s appropriate when you’re trying to win a Prius.

    You had the same reaction to Derek’s witch that I did: it looked too much like Darth Maul.

    No problem with Nicole winning.

    Please…don’t drag politics into this. If I see or hear one more lying political ad, I will have to accidentally break something.

    I was rooting for Laura. In terms of consistency of applications, color choices and beautiful sculpts, she was the hands-down winner – even Glenn said she was possibly the best makeup artist they’d ever had on the show. And she lost?

    Yes, she tripped in the finale, but her body of work should have made her a winner. Nicole did not trip in the finale but, unlike Laura, who was not only never in the bottom, had NEVER BEEN SENT HOME, Nicole had some sorry makeups this season. Enough to send her home.

    Laura got robbed. And yes, Derek reads too many comic books and has seen Star Wars way too many times. He’s good, but not as good as either of the ladies.

    Here’s hoping Laura makes that solo career she has been wanting (as oppossed to working at *cough* Univeral Disney SeaWorld) ‘theme’ parks.

    Laura’s idea for a toxic demon was a little too “Captain America” for me. It made me sad, because I was rooting for her ALL SEASON. But Nicole’s honestly was the best so I did have to vote for her.

    Also: Bootleg Britney Spears LMAO!

    Yay! I wanted Nicole to win since the very beginning. But I thought everyone did really well!
    And lo fucking l at no one wanting to use Alana and CC. I probably laughed for like, 5 mins cuz of that.
    Also I never had a problem with Nicole coming back, despite my bias, it happens in competition shows a lot and if you’re good enough at what you do, it should only drive you to work harder to win. Would people have reacted the same way if CC came back? No.

    I’m ok with Nicole winning. If people didn’t think it was fair she came back, she wouldn’t have won.

    I can see that Roy would have some hurt feelings coming back so soon after having his chances ripped from him. He should have been mad at Derek tho, JMHO . . .

    My friend distracted me the whole episode, I wanna go back and watch the bitch fight with Glenn . . . hee

    Hmmm, I voted for Laura, but still happy Nicole won. I don’t think she should have ever been voted out for that Alice in Wonderland costume in the first place.
    Good for her :P

    Might I add, Mackenzie Westmore is the nicest, prettiest host in all of reality TV compettion. Seriously, I am developing a crush on her :) haha

    I thought other than the usual filler and repetitious flashbacks, last night’s finale was good. I laughed my ass off at all the backstage jokes, Glenn vocab montages, and Ve’s comments. I can’t belive the next season is a mere 2 months away!

    I’m am so happy happy happy that Nicole won, and am very proud of her. She should have never gone home to begin with, so the fact that she got to not only come back but also ended up winning the whole shebang is so awesome.
    Plus, she earned it fair and square. Her finale stuff was definitely the best. And as you mentioned, her witch was doing most of the work. Derek’s helped a little at the end, but Laura’s was a lazy betch, didn’t help at all.
    The only thing is I wonder if it’s gonna be awkward for her to be lecturing at MUFE when she’s a MAC betch.

    I lolled mad hard when Tommy broke the staff and when Alana was left standing there when the teams were being picked. CC is just a non-entity…I’m sure the producers realized that Alana wouldn’t be chosen, so they asked CC to come to spare Alana from having to stand up there by herself. She is the human equivalent of a cardboard cutout.

    Ian got chubby. When I saw him in the audience, I was like who is that…holy shit that’s Ian.

    They need to bring Michael Westmore every week. Let him be Face Off’s Tim Gunn, because he was actually giving some good advice up there. Some visitors don’t really give very good feedback to the artists, but then they’ll talk mad shit with Mack in the corner. Glen.
    Plus he’s so adorable and I think it’s cute that he’s Mack’s dad.

    Patrick is such a sexy beast…totally wanted to reach into my screen and rip his suit off at the finale.
    I hope he is there for the whole time next season, because this one was not the same without his delicious presence.

    I think it’s weird that Nicole went home in the first place, and weird that she improved so much. She didn’t seem much better than Alanna at first. I don’t know. I thought this season was great until Rod went home. Not that I didn’t agree with that, but it seemed that around that time the judges’ comments got really edited, sometimes to the point that they made no sense, and I didn’t get over Roy going home, even though I wanted Laura to win. I think they were determined to have a girl win it; they probably thought it would be Laura. But that was not fair to Roy.
