Fringe Recap: Scrambled Brains

Well, three generations of Bishop escape the Observer stronghold, and the Native Loyalist uniforms are looking more German SS every time I see them.  Walter loses a shoe as he’s thrown in the van, and something more important seems to be gone as well.  Walter calls Astrid ‘Afro’ when he wakes up from his stupor.  He’s lost a TON of brain cells.  While I’m grateful to see the fun Walter back, he’s had so much damage that even the thought unifier can’t bring all the information back together.  How lucky that we have 12 more episodes to find the keys to this puzzle!

Hopefully a Yaz single can bring back Walter’s mind.  I know this type of synth-pop takes me back to the 80’s.

Sorry this one’s so late this week, everyone – I’ll do my best to get you up to speed faster as we take back Dystopiaville for all the Natives.

CannedGinger is a techie by day, and TV binge watcher by night.  She can't resist most crap Bravo throws at the audience, and prefers Conan to Leno.  If you are one of her customers calling for support, she'll be listening to WTF on the iPod in one ear -- but you might not be able to tell.  She prefers cats to people most days, because they're more honest.  Bring on the worst TV you can imagine, and she will just enjoy it more since she grew up on a steady diet of MST3K and cheese.  Umm...nice stilton!

I love Fringe, thanks for recapping! I’m going to miss the crazy mad-scientist lab, too.
Walter never calls Astrid by her true name in this episode, though. He calls her “Aspen” during the egg stick scene and later, “Afro”. (Hulu had subtitles on by default.)

Every season of this show I think it: John Noble isn’t just the best actor on this show, he’s the best actor on TV. His lack of an Emmy for his work as Walter Bishop is a crime against humanity. He goes from being sweet & loveable to manic to hilarious to heartbreaking. It’s magical.
